a werm cradles a bauble, an pure grin of excitement and contentment clinging to his pointy-shaped face.

the bauble is a rich, deep, orange color that resembles the shade of butterscotch candy. the rounded surface has a grainy texture and is surprisingly hard for a bauble, or what’s supposed to be a bauble– it's really just a rounded clump of amber.

within the translucency of amber, the image of a young werm rests, perfectly preserved in the rock. he displays a wide mischievous grin, as if he is laughing at something. the colors of this werm is a warm, comforting brown with fiery orange splotches smudged carelessly on its wiggling body. a few splashes of white lick at his toes and nose, and an intense rosy blush is dabbed upon his chubby cheeks. his eyes are a similar color to the bauble that he is inside, a vibrant amber color. upon closer inspection, they look like a younger version of the same werm who is cradling the bauble.

you see, it appears that a memory of gold has been preserved in a piece of amber.
