[#054] Cucur (They/them, xe/xem, xe/xyr) | [#723] Norman (Mirror pronouns)
Cucur squints at the water. "Is that...?"
"Oh! Food! This is great, who knows when we would have run into some out here!" Norman exclaims.
"...Norman. Buddy. Please tell me you're not going to eat mysterious swamp candy. You will get a disease, maybe?" Cucur pleads.
"I fail to see the issue here." Norman shrugs. "This is how you get food in the Backrooms."
"...I know. I was there. But that's??? Not how it works up here??? There's probably swamp water that seeped through the wrapper. Eugh." Cucur grimaces at the thought.
"Well, since I'm not really a-" Norman trips over xyr words. Sore subject. They don't like thinking about it that much. "A- Uh. Since my. Genetic makeup. Isn't the same as yours. It'll probably be fine."
Cucur frowns, more-so worried about that slip-up than the swamp water candy. "...I guess a little swamp water never hurt anyone... And! If anything happens to you! I'll protect you!!! So it'll be ok." Xe nods to xemself.
"...Yeah. Yeah, ok." Norman swipes the candy up (there is swamp water that got into the wrapper, ew) and pops it into xyr mouth. "...It's not very good."
"That's probably because it's covered in swamp water, Norman." Cucur says, exasperated. Not that they have a place to act exasperated when they have done much, much more stupid things than this.
Weird. Usually Norman is the voice of reason.

Hayden wrote:"Well, I'll be dang!" Hayden looked into the water excitedly. Surely this was a gift from someone for their awesome rock skipping skills? They started to wade out into the water to grab the candy. They looked it over and waddled back to shore, soaked. They thought for a moment.
"Am I really going to eat this? It was in swamp water... but I mean, it came as a reward. That means it's like... magical and stuff... I think..." They closed their eyes and popped the candy in their mouth.

You have a bit more hope now that you've calmed down.
Taking a few steps further, you hear a splash in the waters and look over to see... a piece of...candy?
Floating in the river?
Surely you're not far off.
But the real question is... would you... eat the candy...?
Nine... Ten... Sixteen... Twenty...
"Tennessee #560"
Tennessee groaned in annoyance as she stared at the multiple rockpiles around her, glaring at sour smelling rocks she pawed away from the water. There was no way she was going to carry all of these home. She turned her glare up to the sky, watching as whisps of clouds moved across the sky making the full moon appear then disappear behind them. Sitting around for the chance of someone finding her was starting to grate on her nerves, turning her original fear into annoyance. Maybe she just had to find her own way home? Maybe she didn't remember those safety lectures correctly, and she should keep moving?
With a pout, she shuffled the rocks around near the bank of the water, slowly spelling out a message in case someone else came out this way.
T E N _ W A S _
Plop!
Tennessee's head popped up from her rock message, watching as a shiny piece of plastic floated gently in the waves of the water. Was... that candy? Ten tilted her head up, wiggling her nose as the smell of sugar started to float past the smell of the swampy water. Her stomach grumbled, warning her of how hungry she was starting to become. She crept closer, reaching her paw out with her claws extended to snatch at the plastic. Once her claw pierced the wrapper, she quickly yanked the treat at the water before she stared at it with an overwhelming sense of dread. It... looked like it was still properly sealed? Gently unwrapping the plastic, Tennessee brought the sweet close to her nose and gave a quick sniff. There was an hint of swampy water smell... but it didn't exactly look like it was wet?
Her belly rumbled again, reminding her of her state of wasting away (She totally didn't eat dinner prior to going out for some treats.) Tennessee glanced around, and with no witnesses to warn her away from eating the suspicious candy, Ten quickly popped it into her mouth.

โ Response:
Even if they dislike candy on regular terms, you can't deny the intrigue of a mystery one... What could it possibly be... It'd keep you awake at night if you didn't find out... absolutely destroying that thing in one bite no more no less

Nova #581 (It/Its)
Nova would absolutely go out and eat the candy without a second thought. It loves eating sweets
like candy and cakes, and would ignore any voice of reason telling it that something probably isn't right here.
Although, it wonders how this piece candy wound up here in the first place...
Oh well, finders keepers!

DAY 4 is up on the front page!

Continuing further and further, or closer and closer, however you look at it, you stumble upon a little shack! Inside, there's nothing much but cobwebs and a few tools. Picking up the hammer, you realize you're bored enough to fix up the place a bit. Tell me how you'd change it up! would you simply patch it up or tear it apart to make something new? if so, what would it be now? something useless or a cool structure?

leilani picks up the hammer and looks at it all kinds of nutty. she doesnt really know what to do with this stuff. it certainly wasnt a place she would want to sleep in ... but it certainly a nice little shelter, away from the elements and she wouldnt have to be near nasty mud anymore. she takes a few rusty nails and hammers a few sticks to make a little heart, and braids some cattails to make a soft makeshift bed. if only there were some pretty flowers around... she looked around the river, combing for hours until she settled on some lotus and some rugged flower-like plants by the shore. she didnt have much options to be picky. she returned with her new decorations and sighed a bit, now this is more like it...
