What tale does your catshee tell? A tale of a demon's blundering henchman, foiled at every turn by dumb luck.




As sneaky as it is, it was inevitable that Myotis would get up to some trickery. So many catshee, and so many potential targets, but it mustn't be too hasty. It's spent the entire festival building trust with the cats attending, doing good deeds and easing everyone else's burdens, and it wouldn't be right to risk it all by being too hasty. Its moment will come in time.

The light catches a patch of white in the shadows, and Myotis instantly recognizes the texture of fur. Squinting, its eyes adjust as it focuses in, revealing a catshee slinking forward towards a larger group. They're all too caught up in their storytelling to notice... But that sneaking catshee seems far too focused to be fully aware of his surroundings, too. Its whiskers twitch in amusement. Going so slowly, it'll be a miracle if that tom makes it to the group by the end of the night! Perhaps he needs a wake-up call.

Myotis casually walks to the outskirts of the clearing, moving in a large circle to get behind the sneaking tomcat without drawing attention to itself. As expected, its repositioning goes unnoticed, and it creeps forward, taking the opportunity to get even closer. When it deems itself close enough, it takes a deep breath...

MRRROOOOOOW!!!!!

Myotis lets out an ear-splitting yowl, drawing the attention of everyone in earshot... and sending the catshee in front of it careening away in panic. The way he stumbles away, tail bushier than the surrounding trees, is just too good. Myotis doubles over in cackling laughter, ignoring the many stares thrown its way. Perfect! That will show that poor cat how a real Rogue does it!

     What tale does your catshee tell? A tale of unknown lands and adventure, filled with ferocious beasts and cunning fighters, which feels like a tale she hopes to have for real someday.
     

     

With how stoic and straight-laced she tends to be, it was surprising to see Cammy out to be a part of trickery. However, after Dilly introduced her to the new catshee Musky Hubbard, she was then softly pestered by her siblings to show them how this particular festivity worked.
So currently she is crouched in the bushes with the glowing pumpkins catshee, watching for an unsuspecting passerby. She had went through and showed Hubbard how her little silly trap was setup, as a trap for this simple prank was all she could think of doing. It was simple, to her at least. There was a net on the ground, covered by the fallen leaves that were already there. There was a rope connected from the net and strung up into the tree above and then purposely strung across the walking path. It was low to the ground and a fallen tree branch was a few feet before it, so the hope was that the unfortunate soul would hop over the branch and not even think about what else was beyond it, only to trip the rope and get pulled up into the net. Cammy also added a few spooky spider decorations in the tree for when the net pulled up the victim.
All was placed and planned, so they were just waiting….
They waited so long that Cammy lost interest and decided to take Musk to go find her siblings again.
As they wandered away, without having undone the trap, poor poor Flea wandered along the path, humming a tune. As was planned, he hopped over the tree branch and immediately tripped the rope on his next step. King Arthur scuttled off of Flea as he tumbled. The poor rat then got to watch as Flea was netted and yanked up into the tree. He yowled and spewed frustrated words.
Arthur looked up at his trapped friend before scampering away to go track someone down to free his companion… (329)

Cammy was having a wonderful time telling her story and reenacting it to her audience. She startled in alarm when a catshee paw slipped close to the pouch on her belt. It seemed like some other cat dared to attempt a prank on her when they thought she was too preoccupied with her storytelling. She swiveled quickly on her heel, turning her sword to the culprit. It was already drawn from her telling of fighting off the human's dog. She spotted a small scrap of a catshee, cloaked in dark colors to keep themself hidden.

"The audacity!" she exclaimed to them. She noticed the terrified look on the other's face and quickly pivoted as if they were a part of her retelling. She leaned close to whisper, "I am not the one to prank. Now, follow my lead." Pulling back, she took a step back and shouted, "Fiend! Your teeth and claws are not sharper than my steel. En'gaurd!" She swished the sword back and forth, making sure to keep it back far enough not to actually strike. The fear should help keep this cat in check so as not to attempt a prank on her again. It should also keep other catshee from doing the same.

The trio settle down and start munching on some candy to relax after their energetic dance session together. Specter quietly looks around at the other catshee and feels a fun idea form in their head as they watch the playful pranks unfold nearby. They beckon their friends closer as their bright, glowing eyes glimmer with excitement. "This spooky atmosphere reminds me of a time before I met you both, back when I used to wander the graveyard..." Saccharine's ears perk up as she eagerly listens, happy to see the normally quiet mage finally open up some more.

"I was the only one there... Well, the only living one there. It was always so quiet and dark, I could only manage to get by because of my magic and the moonlight above me. One fateful night, I saw a mysterious blue flame beckoning me into the darkness. Not knowing what else to do, I carefully followed it. Every step I took, the flame grew smaller and smaller..." They lean closer as they drop their voice to a tiny whisper. "It eventually disappeared, leaving me in complete darkness..."

Saccharine scooted closer, her eyes wide as she attentively listens to their tale. "A-and then..?"

Specter grinned as they subtly moved one of their paws towards Saccharine's last piece of candy. "And then... poof!" They quickly conjure up a bright blue flame right in front of her face and steals her candy as she jumps up in surprise. "Hehe, the flame reappeared and guided me back to where I started. It was just a friendly wandering spirit, nothing scary happened."

Saccharine lets out a sigh of relief as she smooths down her ruffled fur. "Well, thank goodness everything turned out okay... Wait, I thought I had one more piece of candy left? Where did it go???"

Specter glances up at Aster with a mischievous grin, and Aster silently nods his head before patting Saccharine on the shoulder. "Who knows? Maybe a friendly wandering spirit stole it..."

Dashing between catshee, its paws stepping lightly. All it takes to swipe a candy is a little playful spin and dip. A trick to keep their eyes off of where your paws sneak. A paw on a shoulder, a bump on the side. so many ways to take Catshee's attention off their sweet prize. A deck of cards! a magic coin! oh how fun it is to find ways to get what you want for free. Pulchra did not need to have this candy, no! It wasn't hungry for sweets. It was hungry for a game, and it would play as long as its nimble claws could creep into unsuspecting pockets.

And then, a pressure around its wrist. It glanced up to lock eyes with a Catshee that looked like a robin, it blinked, it smiled coyly. "You win!" there was the slightest of vitriol in its voice as it dropped all the candy it had stolen thus far and ran off into the crowds to start all over again.
