βAre you sureβ¦ this is safe?β I whispered to my βpartner in crimeβ, Sly. Ironic considering he wasnβt the least bit conspicuous orβ¦sharp for that matter. He quickly pried open the rusty lock that held the iron gates shut, giving us the gateway to a lonely, abandoned garden. It used to be buzzing with life, we together with our werm friends would bound across the lush grass and flowers, frolicking around. Now, it was overgrown with weeds, algae, not a single living soul in sight.
βWhere did..everyone go?β Sly thought out loud, as we started wandering around.
We soon stumbled upon what seemed like to be a dried up fountain, with a huge dragon statue in the middle. βDo you..remember this being here?β I mumbled, dragging my paw along the silver, suspiciously unstained surface. The only sign of age on it was some unsuspecting mushrooms growing at its base.
βIsnt that what people nowadays buy for good luck? But this one is ridiculously huge!β
Sly started stepping onto the stone platform, wanting to inspect it closer. βSly be careful.β I warned, as he start walking around the statue. I waited for him to emerge from the other side, but after a few seconds, nothing happened. ββ¦Sly?β
βStop playing around.β I walked over, bracing myself incase he thought of jump scaring me. To my horror, no werm was in sight. I walked one full around the statue, but the only one there was me. I swallowed hard, an eerie feeling creeping onto me. Suddenly, dancing lights started appearing in my sight, and guided my eyes to a hidden pathway among the shrubs. Like my legs were leading me, I slowly followed them inβ¦.

βGood, the second one has been intoxicated by the spores too. Get her.β A deep voice spoke watching them from a high window.
βYou were right sir, that statue does bring good luck. Good luckβ¦ for us.β They giggled sinisterly.
