Cold Snap, who had been watching her bright eyed companion with some fond concern, is very quick to hurry over and gently push her friends paw down. "We can't keep doing this, Mint," she admonishes her frowning friend, then smiles apologetically at Ronnie. "Just four pairs of gloves, thank you!"

Hugging the border between the city and the wastelands, the two wermz hopped over rubbish and slithered under fallen concrete chunks. The colors of the city outskirts were vivid beneath the sun's midday light. Benedict sneezed as a gust of wind carried sand through the outskirts.
