This is problematic. There are several users that are close or over the limit that are expecting more cats due to litter. It is unfair to expect these users to give away their kits when the only thing keeping them from keeping the kits is a limit that would have been easier to implement before users began to wrack up 20+ cats. It is also unfair to expect users to gift away (because even dead cats count towards the limit) beloved cats to keep kits even if the kits would live longer.
I understand wanting a limit, but it will only raise the ire of the community bringing one up so late into the game.
If you still want a limit, it may be easier to ease the community into it. Maybe have a set date where the limit come into effect, giving users time to adjust - gift away cats and decide what to do with the litters they have coming up and thinking twice about having more.
It would be better still if dead cats didn't count towards the limit. Sure, there would basically be a mass exalting of cats, but if dead cats do count, everyone would reach the limit sooner or later. This spoils the fun.
I speak here not only for myself, who only has 21 cats and is barely half-way to the limit, but those who are over or close that are to unsure to confront the issue.
In correlation to what cai has said here, perhaps if you had wanted a limitation as to how many cats one could own you should have had one from the very beginning. That way adopters knew exactly how to pace themselves when adopting. Or perhaps you could set a "this many a week/month" adoption limit- not counting cats from litters(unless adopted out). This would still give people unlimited cats, but would allow for more than just the "same users" to adopt cats. It would still allow for greater expansion and other users to be able to adopt. Putting a cap on total-adoptions at this point in AaGWC merely stirs discontent among the community who already have a large amount of cats.
I understand that no one human being can "take care of" that many cats all at once, but we do still care for them. Me? I try to post an RP starter-post for all my cats when I feel the need to RP. I've seen many others do so as well. And people do still draw there cats. Maybe not OFTEN, but they do still draw them. I understand that you wanted to implement a limit so that things wouldn't get out of control, but adding a limit that caps total adoptions this late in the game is frankly the wrong way to go about it.
