As for the poll;
I do think that breed specific barns should get a small bonus. For example, if you judged your forms out of, say ten, users whose barn is set up for that breed could receive one extra point to add to their form. So I, personally, am kind of on the fence about this one.

As for my curiosity;
If one were to quit interacting with the sim, but were still online and posting on other topics regularily (and had not first notified you of their absense) would their horses be re-adopted out as rescues because of neglect? Or would their horses just dissapear from the sim?

As for my laziness;
I figure, why make you run from post to post to read on about my endless babbling (and because I'm insanely lazy), I'd like to respond to your request for breed suggestions for events right here. Personally, I'd like to see an event like the TWH one using the breed "Fallabella". "Why a breed that can't be ridden?" might you ask? Well, what if you added a happiness trait, or something of the sort, and because most horses enjoy companionship, these Fallabellas would add points to the happiness trait. Of course, you'd have to use a different line, but I'd be more than happy to pay for the new line if you decide to follow through with this.

Okie, I'm done now c:

@Poll,
I'd be down with that -- as you can see on the front, this would only come into play if there are two forms that are really close, in which case the breed-specific barn would win. I don't actually judge them in points, so it'd be difficult to be so precise about it, but it would definitely be a small bonus -- not something where if a breed-specific barn tried out, it would all be over with for everybody xD

@Neglectfulness,
I'd PM that person first and then see if they were planning to join once more. If they refused to answer me, they would be adopted out from neglect; if they said they no longer wished to be a part of the sim, they would be adopted out without a story; if they said they wanted to stay in the sim and yet continued to ignore it, they would be seized and adopted out. If they wanted to come back and did, yay! We get to stay a big happy community c:

@Fallabellas
I'm internally cringing at the idea of going back to now 100 horses (go check out the new one, guys! I think you'll like him/her!) and adding another trait... Fallabellas are certainly cute, but goodness, that would kill me. Hahahahaha. I'd actually considered doing something like that with cats, hiring another artist to make them so that horse production doesn't suffer, but ultimately I thought it might be a bit too much. If you guys think otherwise, let me know, but I couldn't think of a way to tie them in without having a ridiculously disproportionate effect on the sim. I'd probably have had them tie into the barn as a whole and maybe add a bonus, such as increasing the lifespan of your horse or something. I don't know. Again, if you guys want to include this, just let me know xD

New question:
We haven't had any cutting competitions in a while, and I don't want to push Silverbell to make a ton of cattle just for us. I know she's busy and certainly don't want to add anything to her stress level. So if I were to get the RVEC cattle adopts up and going and had an artist comp so that maybe two or three users could begin making cattle regularly, would you all prefer that? I know the lines aren't as pretty and it's really just all on one lineart, but I'm not sure how long we want to wait before getting cutting competitions up and going. (Again, this isn't SapphireSpirit's fault -- I haven't gotten back to her on her PM, but I can see she's busy and don't want to push her to have to do even more than she already needs to. ^^) Note: Accepted artists would be given an RVEC custom. <3

What do you all think?

I'm dragging this up from the grave like some sort of necromancer... whoops.

Hello everybody! Sorry for disturbing you, but I have a few things that I would like to say.

If anybody is interested in doing an RVEC one to one roleplay, using our character(s), horses and/or any other creatures which may inhabit our fictional stables, please PM me. The replies to the trail ride event, which I'll be replying to shortly, are really brilliant. You don't have to have much experience with roleplaying provided that you're able to create 5+ sentences at minimum. I'm open to all sorts of plots, or lack thereof.

Secondly, I would like to point out something which has been a matter of growing concern for me, not on this sim in particular, but across Chickensmoothie; images. Please read the Chickensmoothie rules regarding the images or gifs which you post. Using copyrighted images could put you, the sim or Chickensmoothie in legal jeopardy. Images and gifs of unknown licencing may or may not be copyrighted, but it's better not to take the risk if you happen to be unsure. Everything on the Internet is automatically placed under copyright, unless otherwise specified. This is a good thing, though, as it means that nobody can use art, images etc. that you have created or bought, without your permission.

I don't mean to be overbearing or rude, as most seem to be following these image posting rules. It's merely the fact that prevention is better than cure, and I'd hate to see anyone in trouble due to failing to follow image-posting guidelines.

All right, guys... Time for a question that's been bugging me. What do we do about adopts? I've been asking and asking for suggestions, but the more I do, the more it seems to me that there's really only one breed of horse per person, and if I make a random breed for adoption, there really won't be all that many to try out for it -- even if it's a more common one, like a quarter horse or something. So -- what do we do now? Do we even offer random horses for adoption, or does this become an importing/breeding/rescuing sim now? Do I work on getting everyone horses for their breeding program or do I gradually redirect the sim back to the adoption aspect of the horses? What do you all think?

Personally, I think that gradually redirecting the sim back to adoptions would be a good thing. It's a competition sim, after all. I think that making some adoptable horses whose stats are good for certain disciplines would really help- I might encourage people, particularly barns that aren't breed-specific, to adopt horses outside of their favourite breeds. This would probably have to be coupled with a few more shows to have any large-scale effect.

Adopts. Maybe, so that you could go back to making this an adopt themed sim, you could remove the discipline-specific barn bonuses, because that is a main deterrent for people adopting horses.

Because, since I'm an english barn, I can't try for western type breeds, etc. I think you should also have artists to help you Syd, I know you don't think thats a good idea, and you'd rather have them done by you, but it slows the sim down a lot. Especially since there are imports and breedings and eventually, if you want the sim to grow, you'll be swamped.
