DAILY LOG:
Thankfully, the sandstorm let up the following morning and we were able to find our way back to the lab. Spent a few hours digging out the entrance and arguing whether the scrapes and burns we'd gotten from the sand were better or worse than papercuts. Rascal INSISTS papercuts are worse but honestly? Bleu and I agree that the sand was way, WAY worse. At least with a papercut you can put a bandage on it and it (mostly) is fine and doesn't hurt. It hurts a lot at first but gets better fast.

All the sand cuts and burns? They've been hurting constantly ALL. DAY. No matter how I move or try to relax, they hurt. Unfortunately for us the storm seemed to have knocked tons of machinery loose in the upper lab levels...which on the plus side means we've gotten SO. MUCH. SCRAP!! Probably could build a completely new airplane from the amount we go! BUT it also means a lot of hard work and movement whiiiich really sucks right now.

At the end of the day we all shared a bag of peanut M&Ms and rotated whose turn it was with the lab shower. I cannot wait to get all this sand out of my fur. Bleh!! At least I've got a warm bed to sleep in tonight instead of the shifting desert.
