For Remy, the perfect summer day would mean getting up early to make it out to his favorite fishin’ hole before the heat kicks in. After he catches himself a nice little lunch, (which might take a while, since he’s likely to spend more time napping with his fishing supplies than actually fishing.) Sometime around mid afternoon, when the sun’s at its peak and the muggy heat starts wearing on him, the weather starts to shift. The sudden gusts of wind perk him right up and he goes right to scanning the horizon, already buzzing with excitement for the prospect of a summer storm. That’s when he’ll call his buddies over for a bonfire, and spend the evening roasting some marshmallows and watching eagerly for lightening strikes in the distance. As long as the storm stays comfortably far away, he might even sleep under the stars, enjoying the cool night breeze after a long hot day.

Pepper's favorite summer activity? How could she possibly pick just one?! This little spitfire has energy that knows no bounds, especially when it comes to exploring outside wherever she can, which makes summer her absolute favorite season! If she had to pick just one activity, it would absolutely be catching and observing bugs! Pepper considers herself an explorer, a scientist, and a master at befriending the critters around her. Her favorite ones, however, will always be bugs. Pepper is on the smaller side, so with bugs being overlooked by most Keepsies and other animals larger than them, she feels a special kinship with them and treats them with the utmost respect and care. Pepper could lie in the grass watching the little guys move about to and fro, carrying on with their little buggy tasks, all summer long!...if she didn't have to feed herself and sleep sometimes. 💔

Althea? In the desert? You could say she’d be a fish out of water… literally. She’d probably take it very seriously, merkeepsies such as herself can’t survive long outside of water unless thoroughly misted! She’d use her song first, in an attempt to attract another to do her bidding, why work if someone else can do it for you? If that doesn’t work she’ll look for plants — where plays grow, there must certainly be enough water to keep herself radiant and hydrated! Or… at least there may be shade? More likely though, some poor soul will be entrapped by her musical influence and end up carrying and fanning her.

★ Entry: Kelpsy doesn't freak out, though he is very concerned with how to get started since it is unsafe to head into the forest to look for things. He wants to especially start on finding food and water or getting something set up to make the water safe to drink. He'd rather be prepared for anything that could come than risk himself. He tries to find bamboo as well if not some sturdy sticks on the ground to make all the things he needs.

Harmony does, in fact, panic. They can’t let sand get in their violin. And then they remember that the same love that made them a keepsie protects their violin, so it can’t be damaged. They do, in fact, also try to befriend a crab. This goes. Extremely poorly. They do not speak crab, nor do they have crab treats for this very occasion.

A coconut would fix this situation, right? It’s a deserved island. It’s the law that they have to have coconuts or something. They go and get a coconut. Which involves them shimmying up a tree, sliding down, and going up again. They try this for the better part of an hour, and then butt their head against the tree in anger, and then the coconut falls down. They eat the coconut. After they bash it open on a rock. The coconut is in too many pieces. Harmony’s life is in shambles.

They survive the island but their pride does not.

Benny has always wanted to be surrounded by such cool creatures. Dragonflies, crabs, shellfish, birds, and monkeys galore. He chased them around for hours, not knowing which critter to look at next.

After a long day on the beach, he finally passed out as he lost sight of the roly poly he was chasing. Later that evening, his eyes fluttered back open in the safety of his family's boat.

"Benny, dear," his mother called out fondly from the kitchen. "Don't be so careless next time; I almost saw a crab nipping at your nose!" She giggled. "Sorry mama!" He called back bashfully. "Good," she said, waggling her ladle at him. "Now come here, I made us some warm pasta tonight!"

Vivian would be pretty rattled at first if she got lost on a deserted island, especially since she's mostly made of fire and wax! If her fire goes out, she's unable to move until it reignites again, so that basically means she's trapped on that island until someone else is able to come rescue her... she'd probably try to collect herself, and then try finding a good source of food and drinking water before trying to come up with a plan on how to signal out for help! Maybe writing a big SOS in the sand for any flying keepsies to spot, or figuring out how to use her own fire as an emergency flare...

if glow were to get stranded on a deserted island (for some incredible reason given he has thalassophobia and would die if he were to get on a boat in the first place), well, he'd probably just be glad he's on land at all, and if there was no signal, he'd come around to this situation pretty quickly, not quite embrace it, but definitely make sure he survives as long as possible whether help is coming or not. as a scrawny little bugkeeper he doesn't have physical skills that would aid him right away but he puts his all into learning them for the time being. fishing, hunting, building... by the time hes rescued his glasses are cracked and hes almost done with a barebones hut, and while he acknowledges the knowledge he gained and the hard work he put during his stay in the island... he cant wait to go back to eating vegan burgers with their partners as he watches anime on his phone!!!

½ Teaspoon of Vanilla (AKA "Nilla") || #280

½ Teaspoon of Vanilla wakes up on the deserted island...and moves back to a sunny spot so they can keep sleeping. When they finally get up, they do a panicked lap all the way around the edge. Oh no! They're truly alone.

'Nilla spends time trying to imagine how to get back home, they tie messages to sticks and throw them as far out into the ocean as they can. Then collect them all again when they wash up on shore and try again, and again, and again. Nothing can make these sticks leave!! 'Nilla theorizes about the magnetic force of the island being stronger for sticks.

That same day ½ Teaspoon of Vanilla gives up all hope for nearly ten whole minutes. How could they possibly escape? No! they can't think that way...they must... BELIEEEEEVE! 'Nilla stands taller and marches around, collecting many sticks to tie together.

After a hardy meal of whatever fruits they can find, 'Nilla gazes upon the raft they have spent the rest of the afternoon on. It may not be possible to launch this creation, as the island draws sticks right back in. After hours of failed attempts, They launch themselves on their raft out into the ocean just before sunset. 'Nilla floats along an inky black sea on a moonless night in hopes of finding rescue, or a more habitable space.

When 'Nilla finally dozes off, they wake up... on a deserted island.
