Goobie(s) Involved: my dexter and harold
If Art, NPC?: Nope
Entry:
- Dexter approaches eagerly, practically bounding up to the massive goobie called Spirit. He's beaming from ear to ear, and trailing along behind him, dragging their paws with less than exceptional enthusiasm, is a fallen agel with drooped wings and a tired look on their face.
"Spirit! I've heard of you!" Dexter lights up, beaming even brighter, "My friends, Mortus and Dominus, told me about you! You met them last goomas, I believe!" His tail is wagging and he's bouncing on his heels, he's positively radiating energy-- contrasting his formal tie and his nicely groomed hair, this business-goob has already made it abundantly clear he's got at least a couple surprises. "I'm Dexter, and this is my associate, Harold!" He gestures to the fallen agel who was tailing along behind him.
Harold offers a wave, but his resolute expression doesn't waver. One gets the impression he's a pretty stoic guy. Where Dexter is all smiles and bounding enthusiasm, Harold is inexpressive, and his gaze reveals nothing more than his neutral expression. He makes a polite bow of his head and gives no further comment.
Dexter chuckles sheepishly, "He's a bit shy!" Dexter explains. You have a feeling Harold is a little more stubborn and quiet than he is shy, but to each their own. Dexter keeps talking paying it little further mind, "I heard you needed a party planner, and some help with decorating? I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I *love* hosting parties, and I host *the best* parties around! At least, based on local Goolp (goo-yelp) reviews!" He offers his paw to shake, "If you'd have me, I'd be delighted to lend a paw!"
Upon Spirit shaking his hand, Dexter's smile only grows. "Awesome! Let's get decorating then!"
Dexter procures, from some unknown place, a huge bag of crafting supplies. Where was he hiding those? Behind his back? There hardly seems to be enough room... He offers them to Harold, Spirit, and Rudolph with enthusiasm. "I think we should begin by decorating the surrounding area-- putting some fun stuff on the trees, making the area festive! I have all sorts of things in here-- ornaments and some things to make new ornaments-- origami paper, yarn to crochet, felt, construction paper, hooks---" He continues to list craft supplies as he hands them out, and he goes on for a good five minutes before Harold, without emoting, puts a paw over Dexter's mouth to make him stop. Dexter chuckles, "Point taken. Well, just check out what I've got and see what resonates with you! I like to keep my options pretty open so I can see what inspires me without feeling too restricted."
Harold picks up some yarn and begins crocheting, working with practiced effeciency to make little holiday shapes-- candycanes, ornaments, deer, and trees-- and some little woodland creatures and mushrooms to decorate the tree. Dexter, meanwhile, starts folding origami paper of all kinds of patterns-- striped, spotted, holographic, metallic, shiny-- into many shapes from cranes to dragons, and attaching ornament hooks with carefully placed glue. While they work Dexter plays Goomas carol music from his phone and hums along excitedly, while Harold seems too focused to be bothered by the world around him. The spirit is merry, and quickly the goobies work together to amass a great big pile or ornaments! When they're done they politely ask Spirit to use his massive height and size, and Rudolph to use his flight, to hang the ornaments up on the high places of the trees, while Harold and Dexter handle placing ornaments closer to the ground.
What's gonna work? Teamwork!! In no time the forest is positively glowing with handmade ornaments, crafted with love! Each kind is unique to the goobie who made them, so everyone's individual effort shines through.
