"Why do you always wear that blindfold?"

It's a simple question. It should have a simple answer, but it doesn't. Verigo huffs, the cold air forming a puff of smoke from his lips. They get this question constantly, incessantly. If they were to tell the truth, they would speak of a curse: the Medusa's curse. Part of the hex makes it impossible for them to talk about it, though, and so they give a different story each time someone asks them. They feel tired today, and for once it would be nice to be able to speak of their ailment. This traveler is nice enough, and they seem kind; but, it could be a facade, it's hard for them to know. They never work very long with the same people. "Don't worry about it," they say, the walking stick in their hand nudging a large rock embedded into the ground. "We shouldn't be too far now."

It takes them half an hour or so to reach the peak of the mountain, but the trail is worn and easy to follow. Verigo has walked it a thousand times, and will follow it a thousand times more. They turn around, assuming that the person following them is standing there, tapping the end of their stick into the rock. "Well, this is it," they state, sighing. They're a little breathless in the thin air of the mountain's peak, and if they could, they would warn the traveler of what comes next, but they can't. They furrow their brow as the traveler remains quiet, grimacing when they don't receive an answer. "Hey, are you--"

All at once, their blindfold is removed, and though the sun is covered by the clouds the light still hurts as the world comes into view. It takes them too long to realize that their companion is looking into their eyes-- and by the time they adjust, the person stands before them, no longer flesh and blood, but stone, a statue that would remain stuck on this peak until the end of time. They sigh, shaking their head, grumbling under their breath. "Stupid eyes," they growl, pulling the blindfold from the dirt. "I wish I didn't have them at all."

Prompt: I've had a lot of good experiences with pride, I went to the bigger festivals a few years ago with some friends and I really enjoyed it! There were lots of booths and I think someone in one of the tents had kittens, which was a nice surprise. I can't remember if they were adopting them out but if they were I'm sure they found some good homes. I'd love to go again sometime, maybe next year!

Taffy looked around. The party had only just started, but new people were walking through their door every few minutes, and they doubted there would be enough alcohol for more than an hour or two.
Still, this was the perfect opportunity.

As always, Taffy planned to bring up their belief in aliens to every new person they spoke to. They'd been doing since they were a child - and over time, their friends' mutual excitement and belief in the supernatural had turned into mockery. But Taffy kept believing, and never let others discourage them. How would a real alien feel if they overheard what others were saying? If they kept openly speaking about their belief in aliens, hopefully, one day a secret alien would reveal itself to them! And if that ever happened - or if it ever had - they would keep the secret, and keep talking about aliens, as if it had never happened.
With time, talking about aliens had become a sort of quirk. By the end of highschool, they had assembled a friend group of witchy or slightly superstitious friends, who supported them in their beliefs.

Now in college, they were friends with quite a few empathetic, caring, or laid back people, who had no problem entertaining their alien conversations.
Parties were the perfect environment for a drunk alien to reveal itself to them. It had actually happened a few times already - although Taffy doubted the authenticity of most of these "secret aliens".

I used to think that magic was nothing more than a sleight of hand, a magician’s trick to wow an audience. That it was nothing but a child’s imagination that I once had. My dreams as a child were nothing more than tricks of the eye. Despite the fact the concept was not a reality, I fell for the stage lights and wonder of my audience. Even if it were some simple tricks, nothing made me more happy than to soak up the attention I got. It took years for me to achieve my dreams, as I had not the best of opportunities.

But even as I became a stage magician performing for the world, I have always noticed something strange. How I noticed that whenever I stared deep enough into a dark room, I could see a meadow full of flowers and the feeling of a warm summer breeze in my face. Whenever I dived into the water for a stunt, I saw a rocky beach shore off in the distance if I concentrated hard enough. Amongst the places I’ve traveled, I have seen small pockets of dream-like places from castles to lighthouses and fairytale forests. Sometimes, I would even see other kalons in them, conversing happily or arguing as the rain poured from the sky.

However, I have never been able to talk about this as the many times I’ve tried I would just get bewildered looks from my colleagues. But as I kept traveling, the more and more I would see of these strange, portal like areas in the corner of my eye. That if I reached out, I could enter them if I wished to do so. I wanted to explore these areas but a lingering worry kept me from truly entering even as the landscapes that swirled within tempted me. Something more spectacular than the world I already lived in, which I one day wish to explore.

Perhaps there are those with truly magical powers that I have heard of, but I cannot be certain. I have always thought that some things in life cannot be explained by logic nor science, strange phenomena that remains a mystery. I was told that there was no such thing as “true” Magic, the one not a simple trick of the eye. But in all of my years traveling the world, I have my doubts on what I was told so many years ago. Perhaps, magic does truly exist in this world.

Perhaps one day I will find my answers, but for now the show must go on. I have always been skeptical of the events surrounding me, but this is far too strange to explain as simply a trick of the mind.

Freya, despite being a stage magician is something of a skeptic themselves. For ages on end, they’ve always seen magic as nothing more than elaborate stage tricks to perform in front of an audience, something that they were always eager to do. Unbeknownst to them, they have been surrounded by magic their entire life; something in which they’ve always passed off as their own mind playing tricks on them. Their powers are subtle, easily missable illusions that made them a natural at stage magic in itself. The visions they see are really portals into a another dimension, a world that may be closer than they would think. A sense of forgotten familiarity, if you will.

As their own magic starts to make itself more obvious to Freya, they cannot deny that it is something strange and otherworldly. Even as they’ve been told as a kit that magic does not exist and have internalized it, they cannot explain what is going on. The things they see are very much real and something that Freya now hides.

Perhaps the magic will eventually reveals secrets of a past long forgotten by Freya. Perhaps, some things are indeed the truth even when no one else is certain it is real. There is one thing that is certain; Freya will need to explore more of the strange occurrences to really learn about it, and perhaps real magic is indeed, very real.

The reason they believe so highly of aliens being real due to the fact he´s friends with one! He came across them one night, after their ship had crashed landed. Being badly injured, luca took the alien in, slowly helping them recover and rebuild their ship! They became fast friends, and instead of leaving, the alien chose to stay with him,moving into his home. They are quite close, and luca is very proud to say heś friends with an alien every time he talks to someone! And if they believe him, he shows them his alien friend, and usually thats how they acquire new friends! Everyone is usually stunned to see that Luca´s friends with a alien, since they all thought aliens were just myths, but here is one, in luca´s home, happy and safe.

Luca´s alien friend is from a recently discovered planet,that is unnamed for now. The planet is 90% water,while the other 10% being islands, besides the big one of course. Not much is known but the planet does have a bunch of different species and even a sub species of luca´s alien friends species! Theres both aquatic and land variants, the land ones usually have thick fur, with scales under neath, while those under water either have very short fur, like a seals fur, or scales. But they can have a mix of both! They have these gems on their chest that, are usually empty unless they are in a relationship,because those gems need love to be filled. And usually both of the parents essence when fully filled are combined to make a egg. Their species is very friendly, and very welcoming, and surprisingly, the water on the planet is breathable! Humans are able to go under water on this planet with out having to need sucba gear or a submarine! More research is to be done before they can send a spaceship up there, as this is only from luca´s alien friend, they have yet to know about the other life on the planet.

Ive had some experiences with pride, my friend group is very accepting and when I had came out to them as non binary they accepted without hesitation, and have been using my pronouns and neo's. Ive never been to a pride parade but pride month has let me see how everyone can come together during a month to accept and show eachother love and acceptance of one another, and it makes me so happy seeing everyone being so happy. I'd love to go to a pride parade, its been one of the things ive been wanting to do for awhile now.
