The Great Town of Saprinsia

Lore:
Saprinsia was once a monster-filled maze of caves and tunnels, a place where no Bitty Hyena
ever dared to go to. Spiders were not a threat to most, but the bigger creatures, such as bats
and lizards were common predators to Bitty Hyenas. Until, a brave hyena decided to venture
deep into the cave to create a place where heroes could grow under his teachings. He
banished the creatures and sent them deeper into the darkness while he built a safe haven
near the surface of the caves. He named this place The Great Town of Saprinsia.

The first hyena who heard of Saprinsia was a rather small bard by the name of Faelin, who
had been singing about the legend of Starstruck in several places for quite some time,
but didn't expect he would be here, running a town for heroes to grow and learn. Bards
are known for their proficiency of bows and powerful chants that could help allies
and hinder foes. Her nimbleness was invaluable to the town, and her eagerness
to play her music to others was unrivaled. She was rather bubbly, and they
couldn't turn down someone like her. You would occasionally find her in the Lion's Paws,
singing about her tales and travels.

The second hyena who heard of the caves was a young scholar named Pixtin, who wanted to
learn about the secrets of the caves, despite being an astrologian. However, he had some
previous knowledge about prophets and fortune-tellers, and decided to put that to use
in the caves. His healing abilities came in handy by the Dark Divide, which was the
wall between Saprinsia and the darkest depths of the caverns where the monsters lived.
To keep them away from the town, it was required that once a week, citizens of the
town had to work together to drive them deeper down again. If this was ignored, they
could threaten to break down the wall and the town. Pixtin's skills came in handy to
keep them all alive and fighting to keep them all away. His ability as a prophet was
to predict attacks so the town could prepare. Without him, the town would be
lost.

The prophet spoke of a hyena. A hyena who got lost in a storm of phantoms in a house
that was broken and wilting. Surprisingly, he spoke of the fourth hyena to set paw in
these caverns. Hyegi, the phantom chaser. Phantoms were a big issue down by the
Dark Divide as nobody could hit them. If they made it past the Wall of Trees,
they could cause lots of problems within the town, including messing with other citizens
and breaking stuff. Hyegi was scared of going to the battlefield, but the tool he
carried was perfect for handling these phantoms and preventing them from causing chaos.
Sometimes he talks about his brother, another Bitty Hyena who wields fire magic, and he
also mentions a great phantom. He worries that his brother never escaped it, but when
he got lost in the storm, he was thrown out somewhere else. We hope he made it as well..

Town Locales:
Dark Divide ➤ The battlefield that lays between the unseen depths and the town itself.
Hyenas come here to protect the town when groups of monsters threaten the town.
Wall of Trees ➤ The wall that protects the town from monster threats. It's a
sturdy wall made from branches from the nearby oak trees around the cave tied together
with vines.
Lion's Paws ➤ A tavern for any and all Bitty Hyena travellers that come to the town
looking for a place to stay for a while. It can house up to 8 hyenas at a time. Its most
famous for its freshly grilled spider meat, which is served in a sweet and sour frinaberry
sauce.
