Rules

• All of CS's rules and the rules found on SBZ's main thread apply.
• Pets must have a cool down period of two weeks before breeding again.
• Pets do not have to be mates in order to breed and so may be bred with multiple others.
• In order to keep to the realistic side of these boxes, currently only M/F breedings are accepted. This may change later.
• Inbreeding is not allowed.
• Babies will not take up slots until they grow up. If there is insufficient room in the box by the time they grow up, one of the grown babies will either leave, go into another one of your boxes (provided that there is room) or it will go for readoption.
• As soon as the babies grow up they may breed.
• If you arrange to breed with someone else's then both of you must confirm that an agreement has been made. You must also decide between yourselves as to what will happen to the resulting offspring.
• Babies will grow after around 5 - 15 days. In the case of your pet laying eggs if it is a bird, fish, reptile or amphibian, then the eggs will hatch after around 3 days.
• NEW RULE: Breeding will now only occur if a Potion of Love is used. This is to help prevent accidental or unwanted litters. Using a Potion of Love with guarantee a litter from the desired pairing every time.
• To prevent an overload of breedings at one time, there will be slots, with each person only being allowed to have one slot at a time.

Information on Breeding

How to breed your pet(s)

In order to breed you need three things: a spare sigbox, a Potion of Love (can be purchased from the main thread) and of course, at least one pet of either gender and of the same species (or compatible species).
Once the Nursery slots are open here on the thread then grab a form that's appropriate to your type of breeding, fill it out and post it. If it is accepted then a PoL will be deducted from your inventory and the breeding will take place.

Unlike before, to make things easier and a bit faster, pets will not move boxes during the breeding process. Instead they will appear as they are on the thread along with their designated breeding partner. Once their babies are born, they too will appear. From there you (and the other owner, if it's someone else's pet yours have bred with) will be able to decide without needing to wait for box updates as to who gets the babies. When deciding the babies' fates, you have three basic options:

- Share the babies between you and your partner (or keep them all if you own both parents)
- Gift a baby to a player of your choosing
- Put any unwanted babies up for public adoption

Once the selection has been made as to who gets which baby, the baby will be placed into the box of the new owner's choice.

Potions

In order to breed, a Potion of Love MUST be provided. This will ensure a standard breeding will take place between two chosen pets.
A Potion of Fertility is an optional item that can also be used when breeding. PoF simply double the number of babies from the resulting litter.

Stud List

If you wish to breed your pet but you do not have a second pet of the same species and different gender to breed them to, nor can find someone else who's willing to breed with yours, then you are free to browse the stud list of publicly available studs.

The Stud List is found here on the thread. Each pet found on it is put up by their owner, and can be used by anyone who is looking to breed. Unless otherwise stated, pets on the Stud List will usually have a stud fee of some sort which is decided by the owner. Stud fees can consist of Coins, items or in some cases, CS pets/items. The owner of the stud may request a baby from the resulting litter as well as or instead of a stud fee.

Litter Size

As of the Nursery thread, litters will range from 1 - 3 babies without the use of a Potion of Fertility. By using the Potion of Fertility the number of rolled babies is typically doubled with a cap at 5 offspring. Please remember that the number of babies produced is entirely dependent on the species - that means that even if a PoF is used, a horse couple may only end up having twins whilst a fox couple may end up having a full five kits.

Hybrids

Traditional hybrids may be produced by breeding two similar species. These hybrids are based on real-life possibilities (with one or two possible exceptions), but unlike what can happen in real life, ALL hybrids produced will be sterile meaning that they themselves cannot breed.

The following species can be bred together to create the following hybrids:
Wolf x Pug = Wolfdog
Horse x Donkey = Hinny/Mule
Lion x Snow Leopard = Leopon/lipard


Hybrids between different species are not currently possible. When/if they do occur, they will possess features from both their parents, resulting in unique but sterile chimera animals.

All the pets here are available for breeding to in exchange for a small fee, as decided by their owners. Even though these pets are available publicly for breeding by anyone, you may want to PM the owner just to double check that it's okay or to discuss any alternative fees if they have been posted.

If you are interested in breeding your pets then one of the ticket forms (the one that is appropriate to your breeding) must be filled out and posted here on the thread OR PM'ed to me.
A breeding may only be done if there is a slot open, so if slots aren't open please don't post a ticket. Please also remember that a pre-purchased Potion of Love must be used for a breeding to be successful. Potions of Fertility are optional.

Current Breedings
This post will be updated with all current breedings and their litters, so be sure to check back here regularly if your pets are expecting.
Once the offspring are born, you (and the owner of the other pet, if there is one) may choose which babies you want to keep. There is no limit on how many you can keep, although you must have room in one of your boxes if you don't.
Any unwanted babies from a litter may be gifted or placed for re-adoption on the main thread.
