PANGAEA
A Nuisance Raptor 3 Part Adventure Game

*Optional introductory lore dump below, not a required read, but recommended for foundational purposes. This is a multilayered and evolving activity.

Legend has it that far beyond the gardens and haunted hill houses where raptors roam, an unmapped cavern system tunnels to a place we will call Pangaea. Not exactly the Pangaea of Earth’s early years, this one is rumored to be vastly different. A bit…magical, one might say. And before you roll your eyes at this claim, consider this: find the magical realm of Pangaea, ???, profit. Actually, that sounds way too vague and ominous… let me rephrase. Consider this: travel to Pangaea, document any new and exciting raptor species, earn their trust, and then reap the benefits of being one with this “Pangaea”.

I’ve convinced you now, haven’t I? Cringe storytelling aside, this realm is said to be home to very primitive raptor types. Raptors you’re not going to be able to obtain anywhere else. They’re likely to be incredibly shy and unsure of your presence, so it’s recommended you travel to this place frequently so you can build trust with the area and get these guys to open up to you. Once you’ve found it, of course.

To begin, allow me to set the stage. You’re on an expedition here! To discover the secrets of Pangaea and find yourselves a raptor worth bragging to home about. You know they exist, even if it’s only been told in whispers. So pack up what might be useful to you. Notebooks, pencils, lanterns, a magnifying glass, anything that you believe will help you on your way. The caverns are where you will begin, and bring all your friends! This will need some expert navigation skills.

—— End of optional lore dump ——

Required Read Below

This activity will change and evolve over time. This will not stay the same activity. Once a goal has been met, it will start a new goal until eventually leveling out into a solidified long term activity. As of now, there are three planned stages: A navigation activity, an exploration activity, and a final long term evidence activity.

*Missing participation in the first two stages will not exclude you from participating in the final established activity. The build up just has some extra chances for raptors and fun.

Don’t be mistaken to skip out, however. The first two stages need participants to reach our collective end goal! The more participants help out in the beginning, the faster everyone can get to the bulk of this adventure!

Part 1: The Caverns | Navigation Activity (Completed!)

Postby LokiToons » Tue Jan 06, 2026 9:01 pm

The Caverns

Your travels begin here, at the mouth of a very large and gaping cavern. The tunnels are dark and smell of mildew and dirt, but there’s also a sense of curiosity and excitement in the air. Together, the secrets of Pangaea might just come to fruition!

Thanks to Sovngarde’s adventurer Peach, Pangea was discovered and the map has been updated to show the clearest and quickest path to this secret realm. No one has to get stuck in the dark anymore! Let’s head deeper and see what Pangea has to offer. New adventurers can join in anytime now without having to navigate the map. This game has become a passive visual feature and does not require any further participation.

Welcome to Pangea | The Map

Postby LokiToons » Tue Jan 06, 2026 9:01 pm

Team Red
The island proves to be most helpful in your collection of boat materials! It was a sheer miracle Zero found purpleheart wood straight from the source of a genuine peltogyne purpurea. Though sawing through the tree with nothing but talons took half the day, once you guys put your heads together to carve your vessel, it ended up being quite the work of art! Someone has got a talent for whittling. With the ship decorated and prepped with sails, it’s time to follow the current. With a shove, and everyone aboard, the ship pulls away from the little island, drifting out to sea. On the horizon, the cavern spires pierce the sky above, and to the south… a dark blot of what appears to be land beyond the waves. It could be a day’s sail but with some courage and sea sickness medication, you’ll follow the sea to a new shore.

Team Blue
As each raptor descends, the ropes hold very steady, even if a few of you decided to use your physical traits to your advantage and watch instead of clamber. A gradual concoction of music starts to descend with the group, each new tune a different genre than the last. A few of them come and go, but one song drowns out the rest. Enthusiastically sung by an excitable Jello, the Rattlin’ Bog carries out like a cliffside shanty. A couple voices try to join in, considering the song has repetitive lyrics… but this actually becomes difficult very quickly. Each chorus zips faster than the last, no one can keep up anymore. In fact, no one can even understand Jello anymore. Tree, bird, worm, tick, what?
Solid ground at last reaches the toes of the first to climb down, and as the others reach the bottom, the song finally reaches its end. There is silence at last, those lightning lyrics cease to echo off the wall, leaving behind a hollow quiet. Ahead is miles and miles of sand dunes, twisting, piling, sprawling. It certainly looked a lot less desolate from the cliff’s edge, but you saw it doesn’t last forever. Onward, it’s the only way to go.

Team Yellow
For as dusty and dry as this route is, it’s not a sweltering day and thank goodness for that. The trek is fairly easy, a few minor drop offs, nothing a raptor can’t hop or flap down themselves. There’s still an uncertainty in the air despite the quiet and calm journey so far. Everyone seems to be on the same page regarding their surroundings. Could there be things lurking in the shadows, observing them from afar? Fellow raptors? Monsters? The faintest scuttle of critters sends the mind into a frenzy it seems. Ash is particularly bothered with visions of the Toomani. Too many eyes. Too many limbs. The rocks are home to many small creatures, the Toomani possibly one of them. Nooo, that’s preposterous. The work of an active imagination and nothing more! Surely not.
The scrape of tiny legs on rock start to hurry the group along as the growing discomfort sets in. The pathway is reaching its end and it seems Team Blue is up ahead too! With a hasty retreat, everyone makes it safely to the soft sands, surprisingly lukewarm to the raptor feet. Shoes won’t be needed today. Perhaps it’s best to catch up with Blue and discuss where each of you will go next.
————

Three groups are organized and agree on team names: Red, Blue and Yellow. Simple, effective, and uncomplicated. Each group has also organized a game plan on how to navigate this first obstacle:

- Take to the waters behind the caves and row around (Red)
Current Team Red: In need of more members!
- Ricocheted
- Exitium

- Cast the ropes and ravel down the cliffside (Blue)
Current Team Blue:
- Pandora!
- Jeepher97
- Pterocards
- UnluckyStar
- CraftyKatz
- Remains of Eternity

- Follow the chasm’s edge and find a less steep way down (Yellow).
Current Team Yellow:
- QueenYeenBean
- debijayn
- JuneyAmy
- Ibb
- Sixx o’ clock
- DillaTheKaiju

Which group have you decided to follow? Once you have made a decision, this is the group and path color you will remain with for the entirety of this minigame. If you are joining late, you still need to pick one colored path and you’ll answer the current prompt for that group.

For prompts, see next post below. This map and below info is where you’ll check back for the next task after each update. The information above the map will be updated as well with some descriptive lore and based on winning decisions, shape your journey. Think of this game as a choose your own adventure with open ended prompts instead of multiple choice. I the narrator will adapt to your group decisions. Good luck adventurers!

Exploration | Group Prompts + Forms

Postby LokiToons » Tue Jan 06, 2026 9:02 pm

Rounds will begin and end when I announce it so. This could be every 24 hours, every few days, or once a week. I will be clear with a cut off post and clear with a new round post.

Round 2 | 3 possible winners
Closing round on Feb. 12th at CS Rollover to 13th.
4 PM EST

Red Team
The ocean is calm, and so are the winds, offering a smooth and gentle sailing experience. A good thing too, no one here has their sea legs license. Or official pirate certificate. This peaceful ride stretches into the night, and without any source of light it’s hard to tell where you’re headed. The stars above offer some guidance and shed a little natural light, but is it enough? What solution would you propose to get you through a dark night on the water?

———

Blue Team
Miles and miles of dunes. It could take ages to flounder through all this sand, not to mention it’s soft enough to make even the smallest hills a little more slippery to climb. Claws and talons provide some leverage on the incline, but there’s no stopping the inevitable trip and tumble on the decline. Strenuous exercise like this usually isn’t all that fun, but making a game out of it might take the edge off. What game do you propose to the group? Hill racing? Tumble racing? Physical bocce ball? Other? How good are you at playing this game?

Bonus question: N/A

———

Yellow Team
From up on the ridge, these dunes didn’t look nearly as big as they do now. Blue team got lost among them on the horizon and seemed to be traveling further into the desert rather than getting closer. Ah well. It looked greener heading straight out along where the rocks ended from the ridge. No use getting lost in the dunes like the others. In some places, beautiful desert flowers bloom, poking straight through the sand. Life’s miracle. Should you collect them? Leave them be? What do they look like?

As announced on the server, this minigame has officially opened up to its first round of posting. I will post when it has closed, estimating about 3 days, you’ve got time. Please read all instructions, there’s a lot of mechanics to understand, especially as more of the map is revealed!
