Prompt:
Still scared out of your mind, you realize pointlessly wandering has led you nowhere. Getting tired, its probably a great idea to stop and rest. Sleeping out here is way too scary... Why not kill some time instead? Out of boredom, what do you find yourself doing out here? braiding grasses? playing chess by yourself with rocks? playing with the water?

โ Response:
"rolling in the DIRT." There's clearly only one option. Become utterly feral. "rolling in the GRASS." Crouching down and sneakily sniffing around, "becoming one with the wilderness..." as they squint for a target to pounce on and mercilessly attack.

Hayden gathers up a handful of rocks and looks out into the swamp. They hold one up and pull back before chucking it as far as they can. It thunks against a tree and shoots back towards them, only to fall short and plop into the water. Hayden scratches their chin and then takes another one of the smaller rocks. This time they hold it at waist level and throw it from a side angle, causing it to skip across the water a few times before sinking into the swamp. Hayden jumped a little and cheered. This was fun!

all there is around here is mud, shruberry, insects, and unidentifiable goop.. in other words, perfect ingredients for a mud potion! Kori excitedly builds up a simple bowl from the firmer mud, and then frolics around looking for the most whimsical and magical ingredients to be found.
"a splash of water, a dash of leaves, a pinch of dirt for the base~
stir clockwise three times, and chant a little spell
and then a handful of berries and a single beetle to finish the spell!"
and voila! the potion is complete. Kori sits back and looks at it proudly, having completely forgotten his fear of the dark swamp.

Nothing.
Absolutely nothing! After long, tense moments waiting for something to happen, nothing at all. He sighed wearily.
It was exhausting, going in what he had to assume at this point must have been circles in the mud. He had been afraid of the paw prints he found, until he realized his paws fit perfectly into them.
Well, so much for getting out of here on my own. He sat down on a patch of the driest ground he could find. He was so tired, and hadnโt noticed it before now. His limbs sore, his eyelids heavy. What was a keepsie to do in these trying times?
Spotting a couple of late-season dandelions in the grass next to him, he started to pick them carefully. He tied them together, putting together a flower crownโฆ perhaps this would help maintain his sanity.
Busying himself with the weaving of flowers would indeed help, as it kept his mind off of the possibility of something creeping through the fog.

"...We could make leaf angels? Or jump in leaf piles... Or something..."
"Or we could just eat the leaves, for fun, ...Maybe not the greatest ideas? It's not like they're lettuce or kale or anything of the sort. Wait... Ew, veggies. "Nevermind, I forgot I don't like eating leafy things...
After some unneccessarily long conversation about what to do to pass the time, the two start throwing clumps of leaces and grass at eachother like they were playing dodgeball. Unfortunately, the leaves would mostly just flutter and fall to the ground after travelling an inch or two, but whatever floats their boats...?

As he followed the direction the arrow was pointing he realised that he was very much still finding himself in circles, he sighed knowing that continuing forward would only probably worsen the scenario he had found himself in. He slowly sat down his tail and haunches squelching in the water soaked swampland as he came to terms with the fact that he probably wasn't going to find the promised land of candy.
He started picking up the damp leaves and blades of grass and slowly sticking them to his balloon In the shape of two eyes and a crooked mouth, if he was stuck here he was atleast going to have a bit of fun with it, there's always time for a bit of dress up!
"How long do you think we're going to be stuck here?" He mused aloud peering over at his orange inflatable companion who loomed next to him.
mick finds it useless to keep wandering around looking for the trail back, and decides to stop for a break. maybe wait until morning to be somewhat more lucid and not get more lost than they already are. they sit at the foot of a tree and just... start humming. their phone is completely dead, so the next best thing is just entertaining themself with what's already in their brain.
they don't trust the woods enough to sleep in there, but maybe they can kill enough time to make it to morning or be found by someone. after a while they just slowly start making their way towards what they believe is running water from a river. maybe a better idea to stay near water, they think. emphasis on think, they have no survival skills.

Sadie and ______ start off on a search for delicious fruits, plants, bugs, and/or whatever else they can get their paws on for a possible dinner. As theyโre searching, they hear some noises that areโฆ very unsettling. Sadie drops a few chunks of her sandwich along the way in hopes that they can use it to find their way back in case they get lost.

"WE HIDE!
What better way to feel safe from the unknown then to find a place to hide, if not then to quickly make shelter better yet lets make a fire! There would be safety in numbers but being alone right now really has my nerves at its worst. Now how do i make a fire? maybe lets scrap that plan and just focus on a shelter, lets dig a hole! under a tree would be great next to no bushes or near a rock, a good way to remember where we built it.
With what felt like hours was merely moments of a cavity forming, scavenging some leaves to make a roof and intertwining them together with some ferns would make an okay, temporary roof, at least it would be comfortable enough to calm my nerves."
