Customs Rules

★ By ordering a Keepsie Custom, you are agreeing to adhere to all of our current and future rules.

★ For information regarding custom trading, see our Trading Rules.

★ Users are not allowed to create their own Keepsies. All customs must be made by an official Keepsies artist. Guest Artists cannot make customs in exchange for USD, they can only do customs in exchange for Custom Eggs, or for free as a part of a custom giveaway.

★ Customs must follow CS and species rules.

★ Customs cannot be based on copyrighted characters, celebrities, influencers, or any identifiable real-world individuals- this applies to both paid and unpaid customs. Keepsies are allowed to have a special item that features a copyrighted character (for example: a plushie of an anime character), but otherwise, direct use of copyrighted intellectual property is not permitted.

★ Designs "inspired" by copyrighted media are fine, as long as the influence isn’t too direct, please get approval of your custom idea first- or have your artist ask for approval, before commissioning something like this.

★ OC transfers are only allowed with clear proof of ownership and designer permission. The original design and the Keepsie version of the design must be transferred together if a trade ever takes place involving said OC. duplicating or scamming via this method will result in a ban, as well as reports to both CS and Toyhou.se respectively.

★ Users may not request customs that are substantially similar to existing Keepsies or other people's characters/adopts. Customs must not replicate another person's OC or design under any circumstance.

★ The pose and anatomy of a Keepsie cannot be drastically changed for a custom. Artists may offer line edits, but the base pose will always remain unchanged unless explicitly allowed by the species owner.

★ Only one Egg custom may be in progress per account. You may not submit multiple forms using different accounts or ask others to submit on your behalf. However, you may have multiple USD customs in progress at a time.

★ Artists may decline any request for any reason. Their decision is final and does not require an explanation.

★ Do not ask another user to claim a slot for you.

★ Custom slots are non-transferable.

★ If you are ordering a custom for another user, this must be clearly disclosed in the form at the time of submission. Both the buyer and the intended recipient must be listed in the custom form.

★ Mock-ups and sketches are allowed for design planning- but do not trace over or use official Keepsie lineart for planning customs.

★ Artists may charge additional fees for complex designs, special requests, or edits. Pricing is determined by the artist and will vary.

★ Customs may not be traded, gifted, or resold while still in progress. Additionally, customs have a 1-month trading cooldown that starts after the Keepsie has been uploaded and delivered to you. A Custom Keepsie may not be transferred to another user until that cooldown is up.

★ Customs must be intended for use within the Keepsies species. Users may not commission a custom with the intent to modify or rehouse it as part of a different species.

★ If a user feels a custom is taking longer than what they consider a “reasonable” timeframe, or if there has been a lack of communication, they may request a cancellation and refund with staff approval. In such cases, cancellation must be approved by the species owner, and will depend on communication history, progress shown, and overall context.

★ If a user requests a refund after work has begun, the artist has the right to retain a partial payment based on the amount of progress made. Full refunds may not be granted once significant progress is shown.

★ Users are expected to communicate respectfully and patiently with artists. Harassment, excessive pestering, or entitlement may result in your custom being canceled with a refund, and custom privileges being taken away.

★ Any behavior that attempts to circumvent these rules, even if not explicitly listed, may result in your custom being denied or your ability to order future customs being revoked.

Cloning Rules

★ "Cloning" in Keepsies is not meant to be interpreted as LITERAL cloning of the same design, it is just another term for how other UMAs conduct "breedings", in which two designs can be combined to inspire new ones.

★ Clonings will result in 1-4 adult Keepsies*. If the cloning involves two users, the number of offspring will always be even.

★ *Some artists will give you the option to request one or more of your results to be on special "Baby Keepsie" lines- which are exclusive to clonings or giveaways only. These Keepsies have "PPS" (Peter Pan Syndrome) and do not grow up.

★ Test Tube Clonings result in recolors on either parents' lines.

★ Love Essence Clonings use the standard Keepsies base with line edits inspired by the parents' features. It may be a “frankensteined” version of both bases, or be entirely re-drawn depending on the artist.

★ If two users are ordering a cloning together, the person posting the form must have clear proof of consent from the other user dated within the last 30 days.

★ You cannot clone 2 Keepsies that are "related". This is to prevent a bunch of clones of a certain design being made and floating around, as we want every design to be mostly unique.

★ You may clone 2nd and 3rd-generation Keepsies. Beyond that is not permitted.

★ If a cloning involves more than one user, the user who posted and/or paid for the cloning has first pick of the results. If no decision is made, staff will mediate or assign results. For giveaway clonings, staff will decide outcome assignments or go based on who submitted the form/won the giveaway.

★ Split-payments between users are not permitted, this is in case there are any issues in the future where payment may need to be refunded. One user must pay in full. You may work out reimbursement privately, but Keepsies staff are not responsible for any disputes.

★ USD cloning offspring can be traded but may not be resold for more than the original price (per result).

★ You may only have one Love Essence/Test Tube Cloning in progress at a time. This includes other users posting forms involving your Keepsies.

★ You may have unlimited USD clonings in progress, but may only claim one cloning per opening if slots are limited.

★ All Custom Rules also apply to clonings, including rules on permitted content, design ownership, and payment expectations. Cloning slots may not be traded, gifted, or resold once ordered / in-progress.

Cloning Cooldowns

★ You must have owned your Keepsie for at least 1 week before cloning it or making cloning plans.

★ You cannot re-use a parent in a cloning until one week has passed since the previous one. This cooldown doesn't start until the results are given to you.

★ Offspring cannot be cloned until 2 weeks after they were given to you.

★ Baby (PPS) Keepsies cannot be cloned!

★ Clonings are considered customs, so the 1-month trading cooldown applies once the cloning results are given to you.

Test Tube

A Test Tube is used to order
a basic cloning that will
result in 2 recolors on either
parents' lines. These either
have no line edits or very
minimal line edits, depending
on the artist's rules. You are
allowed to request one or both
outcomes be on PPS Keepsie
lines, if the artist allows.

Love Essence

Love Essence is used to order
a cloning resulting in 2-4
offpsring depending on what
your artist allows. These
offspring will have line edits
or will be entirely new lines
inspired by both parents' traits.
Artists reserve the right to
release these new lines to
the public, if they desire!
You can request one or all
outcomes be on PPS Keepsie
lines, if the artist allows.
