Neil is just about to head out when he hears a commotion.

He's about to go scavenging again and was on his way to the outskirts. It seems, howerever, that he didn't need to leave to find trouble. Someone seems to be yelling just about in the middle of the market. Unable to help the curiosity, he heads towards the sounds.

Two arguing wermz seem to be the source. They are surrounded by quite the crowd of passerby wanting to witness the drama.

"Seriously?! I can't believe I wasted so much time with you," says angrily the one who seems to be the offender. He seems to be some kind of a rodent. The markings on his fur remind Neil of fog or clouds. "I thought you were my friend!"

The other werm seems uninterested in further confrontation, however. They duck into the crowd and disappear from sight. The remaining rodent is just about to follow when he seems to realize he's surrounded by quite a few other wermz, all staring at him. He hesitates as some of his anger is replaced by embarassment, the tips of his ears turn a little pink. Neil realizes with a start that he's partly responsible, being a part of the crowd. He feels a bit guilty. Trying to rescue the werm from all the attention could result in turning it all to himself, but scratch that.

"Hey, you." The rodent's freckled face snaps towards Neil, who tells him to follow with a gesture of his head. Although visibly suspicious of the stranger, the rodent does just that.

The onlookers seem to disperse, thankfully, but the two still leave the market. An awkward silence accompanies them.

"So..." Neil begins. "What was that about?"

"None of your business," the rodent mutters. His eyes seem kind, but also make the impression of untrusting.

"Can you tell me your name, at least?"

"...Michael."

"Er... cool. I'm Neil. I was just heading for the city outskirts. Wanna tag along?"

Mike narrows his eyes at him. Why all the suspicion?

"Sure... I suppose."

It seems that gaining his trust might take a while, but Neil is hoping to have made a new friend today.

"...thanks, by the way. For giving me an excuse to get away from that crowd."

extra: Moss heard there's a new place to explore... They don't think they're quite ready to visit it yet, though. They're nearly as nervous about it as they used to be about the Ruins! Speaking of the Ruins, maybe visiting there again will help them gain a bit more confidence? Well, it's worth a shot. (Thank you! 3rd Ruins trip)
