Personality // Leveled: Yes Salem is someone who prefers to operate indirectly. She never openly ties herself to the actions
of her cats, and tends to not give orders. She is seemingly passive in her leadership, never seen
giving lectures or acting savagely towards an opponent or someone she is arguing with. Instead,
she is calm and professional. Not in the sense that she's boring, but in the sense that anything
that comes her way won't really shake or surprise her. She is able to hold her ground in even the
most trying of circumstances, and despite her passive nature, would do anything for her clan
mates so they could thrive.
However, regardless of how passive she may act, there is one aspect of her that doesn't elude
the cats of her clan - she is rather extravagant and greedy. She loves to collect riches, and will
go as far as stealing to obtain valuables. Whether this be prey, sacred items, or heirlooms from
other clans, she doesn't care. Her sympathy ends wherever riches begin. Though she would
never kill or harm others to obtain riches, if there is something she could pluck from a location
without getting caught, she would do it without a second thought.

Glimmer is a long dated
clan that was founded by her great, great grandfather. Early on, following the old leaders
receiving a prophecy, it was determined that Salem's clan would become a blood-based
dynasty. The head of Salem's family would take the place of leader, and once they passed,
their oldest child, unless they were to be ill or otherwise incapable, would become the
next leader.
Salem's mother passed away abruptly when she was fairly young, fresh out of training as a
mage. She was forced to take the throne, and her mother's death is essentially what crafted
her passive leading -- she didn't have time to train or prepare for that position, and is
permanently afraid that her choices may hurt others just as her mother was hurt.

Mother of RichesPrompt IV // Leveled: No: Salem's scent is distinct from her clan mates. She smells
of a sweet mixture of herbs. While some may say she smells a bit similar to medicine cats
from other clans, her clan doesn't have anyone as sweetly potent as Salem's scent. This
aroma is soft, but when Salem is nearby, her clan mates can immediately tell. It's her
foes that must worry about the aroma, since it can often blend into the forage of most
environments.

Patrick Stump's "Greed" would definitely be a
perfect theme for Salem. It focuses on one of the deadly sins, greed, which is what
drives Salem. She strives to find riches wherever she can, and obtain them for herself
regardless of the legalities behind it. She's cunning, she's greedy, and the upbeat sounds
of this song certainly encompass her energy and positive attitude she puts into the
thought of stealing. However, she steals for her group's gain, not only her own, and
the song talking about how greed can hurt some people is also accurate for Salem --
her greed tends to be a problem for the cats of
Glimmer.
Prompt VII // Leveled: No: Salem's Myers' Briggs Personality type would be an
INFJ. Most INFJ's heavily focus on helping others, and that is exactly what Salem does. She
often acts motherly and overprotective of her disciples, and she absolutely adores getting
to the cores of issues they have and resolving them. She wants to be a team player. INFJ's
also tend to be soft spoken despite their selfless personalities, and Salem's prominent
trait is her soft spoken nature; this type is perfect for her.
Prompt VIII / Leveled: No: Salem's connection with her parents, while they were
alive, wasn't exactly the strongest. From her father running off to lead a competing
rogue pack to her mother not exactly being the greatest role model ever, Salem was a
bit disassociated with them from the start. However, her parents did serve one great
purpose for her -- they showed her what she DIDN'T want to become. Through seeing
their failures, their self absorption, and generally careless and loveless nature towards
others, she grew to despise hatred. Her walk of life may not be the best, but her parents
inspired her to, at the very least, be a compassionate individual. And so, whenever she
can, she helps cats that seem to be in similar strains that her parents once were.
Prompt XIII / Leveled: No: Salem's favorite food is any kind of fish! She loves
the thrill of leaping into the cold water of the river, grasping an unsuspecting fish,
and having it all be over in a matter of seconds. Their tender taste only makes the
experience better. She hates when things can run, and because she gets hot rather
easily, these bounds into cold rivers are pleasant for her. Even if she isn't on a
hunting patrol, she often ventures to the lakes around her and grabs a fish or two,
which she always gives to the apprentices of the clan.
Prompt X IV // Leveled: No: Salem is dedicated to the study of illusion magic.
Her magic ranges from shifting herself into something else temporarily, to making
cats see things that aren't actually there while masking herself to become invisible.
She chose this path primarily because of her hobby -- which is stealing. The practice
of illusion makes it a lot easier for her to elude anyone trying to take their goods
back, and also allows for her to steal something right before someone's eyes. Her
illusions, currently, are a bit inconsistent, though they've made getting away from
pursuers a lot easier than it would normally be. Ultimately, she chose it for
convenience -- not because she needed it.
Prompt X V // Leveled: No Salem is definitely an introvert in her eyes. From
being a wall butterfly to simply letting her other clan members speak for her in large
social gatherings, Salem embodies everything an introvert is. However, one may
also argue that she is an ambivert, because in some settings, Salem is able to talk
and wing speeches with ease, and she also enjoys bubbling environments where she
can converse with wealthy felines and perhaps "borrow" some of their belongings.
Prompt X VII // Leveled: No: Salem's name roughly translates into the word
"peace". She isn't exactly the most peaceful type through her practices or morals,
though rather through her execution of these things. She generally desires to avoid
conflict, and maintain the peace that her clan has with others around them. The
idea of peace is appealing to Salem, and it was also important to her parents and
their own parents. And so, she was named Salem, essentially to keep peace within
herself and to continue leading a rather strong, but peaceful family name.

SALEM'S MODERATE PROMPTS: 0/0 LeveledPrompt XI // Leveled: No: Conflict is something Salem isn't very fond of. She
hates the idea of cats bickering and ultimately physically fighting one another. She
believes that violence, both verbally and physically, is wrong and conflict shouldn't
occur frequently. Mentally, Salem isn't too well equipped to deal with conflict.
However, on the surface, her clan mates wouldn't know that -- she puts up a rather
strong facade that she is comfortable with dealing with conflict. Her strength in
dealing with conflict, however, mainly derives from the fact that she is a rather
peaceful character. Though strong, violence and vicious tongues aren't her style,
or desires.
When addressing conflict, Salem considers all sides of the story. She then forms her
own opinion on the subject, and will gently assert it onto the arguing parties. Because
of her position, she tends to lean onto that and use her power to break up arguments,
even if both parties are valid. Her hesitance when it comes to addressing conflict is
her ultimate downfall. Her fear of also leaving cats angry or upset with her is another
reason she isn't a great conflict solver. However, she's only worried about the aftermath,
and in the heat of the moment, Salem would do whatever it takes to resolve conflict,
even if temporarily.

SALEM'S RELATIONSHIPS (PROMPT VI): 0/3 LeveledPrompt VI: ataraxic_king's Emin // Leveled: No: Salem and Emin knew each other in
her youth. His loud spoken nature complimented Salem's much more timid nature well,
and the moments that these two were together, you could tell there was a good dynamic.
However, following Emin's father passing, their relationship has grown a bit... strained.
Salem, being the motherly friend she is, has grown a bit sad through seeing what Emin
has shifted into. She would never let growth or misguidance impact her relationship
with someone, though it's certainly put some strain. However, her motherly nature has
caused her to support Emin, and whenever he needs it, she is there to support him;
regardless of his walk of life -- she knows that in the end he has perfectly fine intentions.
Prompt VI: SurgeFire's Merle // Leveled: No: Salem's relationship with Merle is an
interesting one at best. She is somewhat conflicted on how to feel about him, mainly due
to his reckless nature. He makes some decisions that she heavily disagrees with, and takes
some actions that make the poor molly just shake her head. However, she can't avoid the
fact that he is a compassionate leader. Even through his reckless actions, he takes the time
to acknowledge his groups desires -- and with her being the motherly friend she is, it's hard
for her to not admire this trait about him. His compassion has actually taught her a couple
of lessons and made her a bit more selfless than she was before she met him. Their age
difference also causes a bit of strain on their relationship, with Merle having a bit more
experience, Salem almost feels a bit inferior to him. Salem isn't exactly sure how Merle
might feel about her, but she shares a respect for him... she just wishes he wouldn't be
such a chaotic force in some instances.
Prompt VI: Kiffell's Valentine // Leveled: No: Salem, in all honestly, is very
protective of Valentine. Even though Valentine is older than her, Salem considers him her
gremlin from another mother. Her overly protective nature is partially derived from
Valentine's discreetly soft nature, though it is almost entirely caused by the chaos this tom
is capable of projecting. His chaotic nature often leaves Salem wondering what exactly
is going on in that head of his, and Salem consistently tries to calm him down. However,
she tends to stray away from him sometimes, since she sometimes feels like she might
be a bit overbearing or controlling. Despite all his chaos and unpredictability, Salem loves
Valentine like she loves all her other clan members.
