Name:Chayi

Age: 19
Appearance: Chayi is a tall Airbender girl with fluffy dark brown hair
and bushy eyebrows. She wears some more traditional water tribe beads
in her hair with an Air Nomad twist. She has semi-tan skin, grey eyes, and
a beauty mark under her left eye. Her attire is in the colors of the Air Nomads
but often has a mismatched and frumpy feel.

Personality: Chayi is a lackadaisical and easygoing gal. She loves to
joke around and hates to take anything too seriously. Honestly, she takes a
lot after her father. Where she often differs is that she can have a bit of a
temper at times. She's very stubborn and prefers to do things her way. She's
not afraid to throw hands when she needs to which is often at odds with the
Air Nation's policies of nonviolence. She struggles under Tenzin's teachings
and rigidity and longs to do things in a more leisurely and 'free' way.
Background: Unknown to Bumi, Chayi was born somewhere in
the Fire Nation to a Firebending woman he had met, and briefly fell in love with,
while on shore leave during his military career. Bumi and the woman would go
their separate ways and Chayi's mother would never try to contact him after her
birth nor tell her daughter of her father. Born as a non-bender Chayi often lamented
being unable to firebend like many of her peers. This coupled with how she didn't
connect with much of the Fire Nation's culture of honor and expectations led her
to run away and become a nomad for a period of her life. Unknown to her, she
was following in the footsteps of airbending ancestors. She traveled the world
from the poles, to Ba Sing Se, and more. When Harmonic Convergence happened
she miraculously gained airbending! After this event she went home to her mother
to tell her of what had happened and it was then that the truth of her parentage
was revealed. Nervous for a time she avoided going directly to her father. She
travelled to the air temples to get in touch with her culture more and even
visited the southern water tribe, though even then she was too shy to meet
her grandmother. But now Chayi has finally traveled to Republic City in order
to meet her father and connect with her culture. Hopefully all goes well!

--Family History--
Asahi was born and raised in Republic
City on the edge of the Dragon Flats
Borough. Asahi and his twin brother,
Kaito, are the eldest children in their
family and they do whatever they can
to take care of them. Their mother,
Rina, is a waterbender who married
her best friend at a young age. Their
father, Touma, was a firebender who
was a wild card in their youth. Touma
was the leader of a well-known traid
that fell apart after he passed away.
The twins were only 3 years old when he passed away, so they don’t remember
much about him. Because of how popular their father was, everyone in their
neighborhood and many traid members know the twins. The twins gained a lot
of respect on their own over the years for being so helpful to everyone in their
district. Their mother forbade them from joining any of the triads, but she
doesn’t know that they do hang out with some of them and help them with things occasionally for money. Their family wasn’t exactly poor, but they definitely weren’t rich. A lot of the family's money goes into the restaurant that their mother owns. They didn’t have much pocket money to spend on themselves and when they did, they buy things for their family or give it to any of their neighbors who need it more than them. The twins usually help their mother with her restaurant on their free days whenever they aren’t working on other things. Their step father, Kenji, became the main cook of the restaurant 6 years ago and married their mother a year later.Hiro and Toji are two waterbenders that came into their family three years ago when their father passed away. Their parents had been family friends and Rina promised to take care of them after their father grew ill. The two also help out at the resturant after school and they both look up to Kaito and Asahi.

He's been thinking about applying to Kya's Free Clinic, even though it's in the triad rife area.

Age: 30

Appearance: Izuko is a tall, slim woman, with straight black hair that she keeps tied up in a ponytail. Her skin is pale, and often soot-stained, and her vibrant green eyes are usually hidden behind a thick pair of welding goggles. Her face is thin and sharp, capable of glares that could cut glass, though the lines around her mouth reveal she's no stranger to smiling either. She carries herself with the easy grace of someone used to moving around, and she has the muscular build of someone who's worked with their hands most of their life. She generally wears her work clothes, a set of dark brown overalls over a red shirt, sturdy black boots, and a red neckerchief positioned so she can pull it over her face if she needs to.

Personality: Izuko is a fiercely independent, freedom-loving spirit, with a strong sense of justice and a mind as sharp as her wits. She prefers to form her own opinions about most things, and while she does try to see every side of every issue, generally speaking once she's made her mind up there's very little anyone can do to change it. She also has a healthy (some might say dangerous) amount of disrespect for authority, generally seeing things like managers and politicians as obstacles to getting any real work done. While her defiance can make her abrasive, especially to those in power, she has a kind heart and is always ready to help someone in need.

Background: Izuko has lived in Republic City her whole life, the non-bender child of two Fire Nation shopkeepers. While her father was a bender, her mother was not, and Izumi's own lack of bending was something he could never get over. After her mother passed, things only got worse, and when she was sixteen she cut off contact with him entirely. She leveraged her love of machines into a job at Future Industries, and it was there that she came into contact with the Equalist movement. While her strained relationship with her father did play a part in her joining, she also truly believed that bending represented an unacceptable power imbalance in society, and that the Equalists were the best shot non-benders had at generating long-term change. After the movement fell apart, she continued to leverage her training and equipment in service of the cause, moonlighting as a vigilante keeping non-benders safe. Which made it all the more ironic when, after the Harmonic Convergence, she gained the ability to airbend. While she did train with the other new members of the Air Nation at the Southern Air Temple, she never really considered herself one of them, and left after she learned all she needed to from them. Now, she continues her day job at Future Industries, and continues to moonlight as a vigilante, adding her airbending abilities to her Equalist training, protecting the downtrodden of Republic City from the shadows.
