August's memory is, at best, foggy up until the time he was six. His earliest completely solid
memories were in the children's home of Eden where he lived for a couple years before being
transferred into the baker's care at the age of eight. He grew up as the baker's apprentice,
slowly learning to manage his ability so that he could shake a hand without seeing the entire
timeline of someone's life. As he reached adulthood, his mentor and parent figure passed away
suddenly due to heart complications, leaving August alone with nothing but the bakery.

As the years passed and time crept on, August became increasingly interested in discovering the
memories that had been locked away from him for so long. Even as he viewed his own timelines,
scouring through what should have been infinite lifetimes, he was met again and again with gaps
and static. Where there should have been life, he saw only smoke and ash. Then, a few months
ago he managed - by chance or by fate - to break though the static, witnessing for a split
second a world outside the bounds of Eden.

Immediately, August became obsessed with the idea of finding that world, certain that once he
did, the gaps in his ability would fill in. The harder he struggled to to get out, however, the
tighter the walls of Eden seemed to be - still, he managed to meet a small group of individuals
like him who looked beyond the boundaries of Eden.

August is outwardly warm and easy-going, if not a bit quirky. He's generally well-liked by the
clientele of the bakery, and is a favorite of the children in the town for giving out left-over
pastries when the day is done. He's known, however, to lapse into moments where he seems

a thousand miles away from the present. These moments are a brief window
into who August is at his core - a man deeply troubled by the horrors that
he sees in his own future, and the future of those around him. The darkest
moments in his timelines are the ones that draw him in -like a moth to the
flame- bleeding into his mind until at times he cannot tell what timeline
he is in, or what reality is coming to pass before him.

Because of the difficult to control nature of his ability, August has struggled
to make connections with the people around him, and is therefore, naturally
a bit of a loner. This isn't to say he dislikes people -he is deeply empathetic-
but knowing the potential fates of others makes it hard to behave normally.
Ultimately, Alex is outwardly all smiles and optimism, masking his
unrelenting fear of the future and all the possibilities it holds.

Nesrin is one of the few in Eden who was allowed to maintain her memories of the
outside world even after arriving in the small town at the age of ten. Her childhood
was far from kind - her abilities had been discovered at a young age, and she was
quickly taken by those who wanted to use her gifts for personal gain. By the time
people from Eden were able to track her down and bring her to their community
she had already suffered greatly, and wanted nothing to do with the outside world.

Nes was raised directly by one of the community leaders, and so was privy to a
great deal of information. Initially, there were two other children being raised
by him, but he chose Nes to become his eventual successor. Because of this,
Nes spent the majority of her time studying directly under the leader instead of at
the school with the other children. In addition to the basics of education, her days
were filled with helping the leader address the issues of the community, being told
that the goal of all their work was keeping Eden safe.

Following a recent change within the power structure of Eden, Nes had been told
that a number of residents might be placing the whole of Eden at risk and she's
determined to protect the only place she calls home by any means necessary.

Nes is a bit enigmatic, even to those who have known her since her arrival in Eden. Her
emotions come and go as quickly as changes in the wind, but the inconsistencies in her
mood cannot detract from her strongest trait - her lightning quick, cunning intellect.

After all, it was this intellect that first caught the attention of the leader
and was what kept her alive through her perilous childhood. Because Nes
was raised in a different manner to those around her, and because she
retained memories that had been taken from most of Eden, she struggles
to relate to the people around her in an authentic way, mostly settling
for some kind of professional interaction as opposed to deep friendship.

Nes wants to keep Eden -and herself- safe from the threat that she
believes the outside world poses. The lasting traumas of her childhood
make it incredibly difficult for her to place trust in others besides herself,
and she lives with the lasting fear that there are still those tracking her
down to take advantage of her abilities. So while Nes appears confident,
slightly impulsive, and moody, her intellect will always win the day.
