the warrior clans have lived under Silverpelt. Though they have always been plagued by battles, sickness, and hunger, they have lived together in the forest for longer than any cat can remember. But now, a new threat to their existence is drawing ever nearer. Their faith in their warrior ancestors has never waned, but it may not be enough to save them this time...

Dawnclan is a clan of cunning, fleet-footed warriors who attribute their strength to loyalty above all things. Loyalty to the warrior code, to their leader, and to each other is what this clan prizes. The clever battle tactics that the clan uses are age old traditions. Every apprentice is trained to know how to turn a disadvantage into an advantage in the heat of battle, and every cat knows they can count on each other. Any warrior in Dawnclan would be proud to fight and die to protect the clan and the warrior code.

Lightclan is a clan of powerful, stealthy warriors who rely on strength and size for their power. They pride themselves on the battle skills passed down, generation to generation, from mentor to apprentice. They are confident in their abilities, and every cat knows they can rely on their clanmates. Every cat in Lightclan receives battle training, even the kits and medicine cats. Every warrior is expected to be willing to lay down his or her life to protect the clan and the warrior code.

-Follow all CS rules
-Be kind when speaking out of character. Rudeness in character is allowed,
within reason, but if someone is made uncomfortable by something
your character says, you will be asked to tone it down.
-No power playing other people's characters without consent, and no
killing another player's character without discussing it first.
-Be active! Once the actual roleplay starts, if you do not post for more
than 1 week without letting me know you are taking a leave of absence,
your character will be played out to finish whatever scenario they are
involved in, then they will be removed.
-With the previous rule in mind, I know real life happens. If you need
to take a break from the roleplay, PM me and let me know. You may
be asked to allow another player to play out your character(s) if you
are involved in an important scene.
-There is NO limit to how many warriors, apprentices, queens, kits, or elders
you may play, as long as you can keep track and play them well,
but let's try to keep genders mostly balanced.
-PM me before you make a leader, deputy, medicine cat, or medicine cat
apprentice to ensure the spot is still available. I will allow reservations
of higher ranked characters, but only 1 per person, and you have 1 week
from the day you PM me to get your character sheet up.
-You may only make a Starclan or Dark Forest character if you also have
at least 1 living character. I am putting a limit on how many Starclan
and Dark Forest cats there can be, and those spots may also be reserved.
-Don't play all of your own characters' family/mates. I won't make a
hard rule against it, but if your character has living (or Starclan/Dark Forest)
family, try to include at least one other player as a family member or mate.
-No assigning mentors for your own characters. Mentors and apprentices
will be assigned by the clan leaders once the game starts
-All characters must be accepted by me before you can begin playing.
-Disable your signature when posting in the RP thread. Even if your signature
is small and inconspicuous, everything will look neater and be easier to
navigate if everyone's signatures are disabled.

Both clan's territories are within a heavily wooded forest with a river flowing through. During leaf-fall and leaf-bare, the river mostly dries up to become no more than a slowly trickling stream that is easily crossed, but when the rains come in newleaf the river flows fast and strong again all through greenleaf, and the only way to cross is either the fallen tree bridge or an old twoleg bridge. A little ways downstream, the river runs into a lake where twolegs come with their kits to play in the water. A couple days travel upstream from clan territory is a twolegplace. There is thick undergrowth in some parts of the forest, and it provides shelter for both cats and prey. There are many types of trees dispersed across the territories, and in some places the canopy is so thick that a cat could travel far without needing to touch the ground.

Dawnclan's territory begins on the lower bank of the river. Their territory does not have thick groves of trees, but the undergrowth is plenty. Going upstream it follows the river almost to a wooden fence that marks the border of a farm on the edge of twolegplace. Then the border moves away from the river and ends at a clearing in the forest where the Moontree sits. From the clearing, Dawnclan territory heads back towards the river, past the Sunning Stones near the edge of the lake, and the border ends at the bank of the river several fox lengths from the lake. Sunning Stones is currently in Dawnclan territory, but it is a constant point of contention between the two clans, as it is a good source of prey especially in leafbare.

Lightclan's territory begins on the upper bank of the river. The undergrowth is thin, but the trees grow thick across most of the territory. Upstream, the border runs up to a thunderpath that curves from following the river to running away from it, and follows the thunderpath away from the river until it reaches the treecut place. From the treecut place, the border runs straight towards the lake, and turns to come back and meet the river a few fox lengths from the lake edge.

At each full moon, the two clans meet at the Moontree under a truce to share news and discuss issues. The Moontree is in a clearing of the forest along the edge of Dawnclan territory. During the full moon, Lightclan has permission to travel across the river at the Stepping Stones or Treebridge into Dawnclan territory straight from the border to the Moontree and back.

The Moontree is also where the medicine cats go to meet every half moon to share dreams with Starclan. The medicine cats are allowed to travel freely across clan territory, and often times the Dawnclan medicine cats will wait by the Stepping Stones or Treebridge for the Lightclan medicine cats to cross so they can all walk together.

The clans have always faced adversity and are strong because of it, but Starclan has foreseen a new threat to the existence of the clans that could destroy even Starclan. The clans must face this danger and overcome it to save themselves, Starclan, and the warrior code.

Silverstar is softspoken and thoughtful, yet she has an air of calm authority about her. She spends lots of time with her clan mates, getting to know everyone better. She spends time with the queens and kits in the nursery, and when she isn't out hunting or on border patrols, she can usually be found keeping kits busy so their mothers can take a nap. For the most part she has continued on with warrior duties as though she were still a warrior, and while some cats might grumble that a leader's place is not out hunting and patrolling like a regular warrior, Silverstar wouldn't have it any other way.
History:
Silverkit had one sibling, but Mothkit was stillborn, so her mother was more protective of her remaining kit. She was very close with her father, and always wanted to be a warrior just like him, from the time she was a tiny kit. Silverkit was the only kit in the nursery most of the time, and she was bored, so sometimes she would sneak out of camp to try and follow her father's patrols. Her mother usually stopped her, and always chastised her for leaving camp without permission, but she didn't listen and kept sneaking out. Luckily she never got hurt, but Oakstar finally caught her and made her wait an extra moon to become an apprentice. She finally realized that she would never become a warrior by sneaking around, and decided to be patient and wait until she was an apprentice. As a young apprentice, she tried to pay attention to her mentor and learn, but she was easily distracted and didn't learn much. After a couple moons trying to put up with her antics, her mentor got frustrated and made her spend a moon stuck in camp, cleaning out the dens and helping expand the warriors' den. At first she hated it, and she hated her mentor for making her do it, but eventually she learned to be content with the dullness of being stuck in camp. She began to enjoy listening to the elders stories and playing with the kits. When her mentor finally decided to try training her again, she was ready to really pay attention and learn. After a few moons of progress, she turned out to be a great hunter and a decent fighter. Before she was ready to become a warrior, her mother, Blizzardfur, got sick with greencough, and because she was already old enough to join the elder's den, she died. Silverpaw was devastated. She sat as close to her mother as the medicine cats would allow the whole time she was sick, whenever she could be spared from training. Before she died, Blizzardfur made Silverpaw promise that she would work hard and protect the clan to the death. Silverpaw promised, and from that day on she vowed to live up to her promise and her mother's expectations. She worked hard to finish her training and surprised even her mentor with her resolve, and she earned the name Silverheart for the determination she showed in the last moons of her training. She worked hard as a warrior, always volunteering for patrols, and she showed more patience and understanding with her apprentices than she felt she got from her mentor. Then, much to her surprise, she was chosen as deputy when Lionwind, Oakstar's previous deputy, died. As Oakstar got older, Silverheart took on more and more leadership duties in his place, until Oakstar went to join Starclan. Less than a moon after she became leader, her father Carptooth was killed in a border skirmish. Silverstar felt responsible, as though she could have prevented the battle that killed her father, and she has been reluctant to fight Lightclan ever since.

Juniperclaw is an aggressive young tom with a sharp tongue. He has little tolerance for nonsense, he is very business like and therefore doesn't have many friends. Foxstrike is energetic and clumsy, but he cares about his friends and his clan. He is not a great hunter. He often misses catches, or scares away the prey. But what he lacks in hunting skill, he makes up for in fighting skill. He is a brilliant fighter, able to hold his own easily in a fight. He is very proud of his warrior status, but he doesn't let pride get the best of him. Instead, he channels that energy into keeping his skills sharp, and he's always trying to improve his hunting skills. When he has free time, he goes out in the forest by himself or with his former mentor to try and practice. He frequently volunteers to go on border patrols, since he feels like that's the best way he can help his clan.
History:
Foxstrike was born into the clan, and he is one of the newest warriors. He, Echopaw, and Juniperpaw grew up together, and they were all good friends before Juniperpaw was killed by foxes. Now he and Echopaw are still friends, and they try to hang out whenever their duties don't keep them separated. His mother, Doelight, died shortly after he was born, and he and Cedarstripe have grown closer and closer since. He was still an apprentice during the battle to avenge Mousefang, and he earned his warrior name due to his bravery.

Despite her denmates teasing about her white coat scaring away all the prey and warning their enemies, she keeps a positive attitude and works even harder to show them they're wrong.
History:
Amberpaw was born into the clan. She grew up with her brother, Hollowpaw and her best friend, Fumblepaw. Amberpaw hasn't always gotten along with Hollowpaw, but she still loves him as a littermate and would do anything to help or protect him. Fumblepaw and Amberpaw, however, have been great friends for their whole lives and are practically inseparable.

Carptooth was a proud warrior, always willing to put his battle skills to the test in service of his clan. Now, he watches them from Starclan, and he is usually the one to speak with Silverstar when Starclan has a message for her.
History:
Carpkit was born into Dawnclan to a loving mother and father. While he was an apprentice, he was a bit of a goof off and he didn't listen to his mentor. He developed a crush on a pretty she cat, Blizzardpaw, and she got him to work harder at his training. They were made warriors together, named Carptooth and Blizzardstrike. They became mates soon after, but their first litter of kits all died before they were apprenticed. Stricken with grief, Blizzardstrike refused to have any more kits. Carptooth was devastated, because while he also grieved for his dead kits, he had always dreamed of one day becoming a father and watching his kits become warriors. Many moons went by, and Blizzardstrike finally decided she was ready to try again, and she gave birth to two she cats, Silverkit and Mothkit, but Mothkit was stillborn. Blizzardstrike and Carptooth were once again forced to grieve for a kit, but they found strength in each other and in their surviving kit. She grew up to be a fine apprentice, but before she became a warrior, Blizzardstrike became ill and died, leaving Carptooth and Silverpaw to grieve the mate and mother they had lost. Carptooth made a point to involve himself more in Silverpaw's life, and she quickly became a warrior and eventually was named deputy. Carptooth was proud of her, and he was happy that after so much grief he was able to hunt and fight beside his daughter and deputy. She served her clan well as deputy, and when Oakstar lost his ninth life, Silverstar became leader in a time of conflict with Lightclan. Carptooth tried his best to advise her as both her father and a loyal warrior, but they found themselves forced into a battle for territory. Carptooth was old to be fighting, but he was proud to be there and he wouldn't be persuaded to stay behind and guard the camp. He fought skillfully and with honor, but Starclan called him to their hunting grounds after he had received a terrible wound. He had mixed feelings about dying. He was happy to be reunited with Blizzardstrike and Mothkit, but he wanted to stay with Dawnclan for many more moons to stay with his daughter. Now has to settle for watching his beloved clan from Silverpelt.
