Ooookay, so since I literally can’t find a single One Piece RP that’s not either dead or accepting, I decided to make one of my own, so here’s hoping this RP can set sail, so to speak.

For those who are in the fandom, obviously you know how this works, but I like to leave things open in case people who don’t know much about it find it an interesting concept, soooo the basics.

PREMISE: One Piece is the story of pirates sailing the Grand Line in search of a treasure, the One Piece. Trouble? Nobody knows exactly where it is. They’ll have to dodge around creatures most people have never heard of, navigate dozens of islands, other hostile pirates who would rival them in search of the One Piece, and of course, remain out of reach of the marines and bounty hunters who would seek their capture.

DEVILFRUITS: Devilfruits are fruits of three types, Paramecia, Zoan, and Logia And each have different abilities. Paramecia type fruits offer the user the abilities to adapt their body in specific ways. Zoan gives the user the ability to take on traits of an animal, almost like shapeshifting, and Logia gives the user elemental abilities, usually specific to one. Downsides? After consuming a Devilfruit, while a user gets wonderful powers, they can only take one Devilfruit, and after that, they’ll never be able to swim. Their effects can be countered by water and by what’s known as Seastone, which has very much the same effect.

RANKS AND ROLES

PIRATES:

Pirates generally have the following roles, but depending on the crew, some may be expanded or added according to the individual skill of a member.

(1) Captain: The pirate who calls the shots and in overall in charge.

(1) First-Mate: The crewman/woman who's second in command to the Captain and may act as a commander of some sort in the case the Captain cannot act.

(1-2) Cook: Self-explanatory.

(1-2) Navigator: The crewman/woman who's in charge of maps and setting course.

(1-2) Mechanic/Shipwright: The crewman/woman in charge of the upkeep of the ship.

(1-3) Defenders: The crewmen/women in charge of defending the ship and crew. All should be willing to fight, but these are the primary fighters.

(1) Lookout: The crewman/woman in charge of keeping an eye for islands and threats.

(1) Doctor: The crewman/woman in charge of medicine and health.

(4 to a ship) Crewmates: The men and women with no specific job, who assist wherever help is needed.


MARINES


(1-3) Admiral: The men and women in charge of the marines as a whole. The highest possible rank, the Admirals are generally good leaders and skillful in combat.

(1-3) Vice-Admiral: The assistants to an Admiral, their deputy.

(1-3) Rear Admiral: On the front lines, often in charge of lower ranks.

(1-5) Commodore: Officers who assist in assigning missions and closing treaties.

(1-2 per division) Captains: The men and women assisting with running a division, who are often on the front lines.

(1-3) Commanders: Officers who may be in charge of assisting with some cadet training, and who are often seen on the field in a fight.

(1-3 to a division) Lieutenant Commanders: The officers in charge of the lower ranking officers, whose duties may include acting as front-liners on the field, or as backup on a ship.

(1-3) Lieutenants: The men and women who are in charge of taking care of odd tasks

(1-3) Lieutenant Junior Grade: Deputy to the Lieutenants, they assists with assigned duties.

(Unlimited) Officers/Seamen|women: Regular marine members who have graduated from marine corps and serve under the above ranks.

(Unlimited) Seaman Recruits: Cadet officers.


OTHER


(1-5) Bounty Hunters: The people who hunt down pirates with good bounties and turn them in to the marines in exchange for the bounty money.

(1-5) Shopkeepers: The people who runs the shops in town.

(Unlimited) Civilians: the townsfolk of various mainlands and islands.

RULES

Be nice to other players, if there are questions or concerns, please bring them up to me via PM.

No godmodding or powerplaying! This is especially important in a setting with very combat-strong characters. Feel free to make your character strong, but remember to give them weaknesses too, and to give other characters chances to respond.

Bring plot ideas to me FIRST, before putting them into play.

Let’s steer clear of any super dark topics overall. After all, this is a PG13 site.

Romance is allowed, but this IS a heavily plot-focused RP.

Canon characters and OCs alike are allowed.
You may have as many characters as you can actively play.
Reservations last a week.

Try to post at least once or twice every week. If you’ll be absent for more than two weeks, let me know. Otherwise your character will have been assumed to have left their crew/division. (depending on role)

Please do not copy the Devilfruit powers used in the original series if possible, unless you are PLAYING one of the canon Devilfruit users, as there is only one fruit of each type. Get creative! See what you can come up with! If you’re not sure, feel free to message me.

Personality: Kassandra on the surface is a very confident and fun-loving young woman with lots of energy. She’s a general flirt to men and women alike that she finds interesting, or wants information from, and finds causing a BIT of awkwardness amusing. She’s quite selfish, and will stop at nothing to get what she wants and needs. Kass carries an air of authority with her, even when not in a position of power, and isn’t afraid to act like she’s the top dog. She’s manipulative, and not afraid to twist morals and ethics around if it benefits her. Ultimately, despite her social and cheerful surface, she is loyal only to herself and her family. If anyone else stops being useful, she'll have no qualms stabbing them in the back. Literally and figuratively. Kass is not a trusting or forgiving person, and it takes quite a lot to get her to open up to her more vulnerable side.

On that soft side, Kass is sensitive. She’s incredibly emotional, bottled up years of pain. Fears, doubts, self-loathing when she’s at her worst, and it’s a lot to take, but she also has a side that’s genuinely affectionate and wants attention. A side of her that will find trust in someone and whom she will be undyingly loyal to, whom is the one person outside her family she feels is worthy of seeing both the good AND the bad, and whom is worthy of her trust and respect.

Kassandra values strength and hierarchy above all else. Honour? Bah. Unless it serves her or her loved ones, what does it matter? Once Kassandra's true colours are revealed, she doesn’t try to hide them, but lets people do what they will with that information, for as far as she’s concerned, she is who she is, for better or for worse. She’s not all bad though. She has a genuine care for youngsters, and will gladly act as a mentor for those younger than her, though whether her mentoring is GOOD is debatable...

Kass likes big parties, and having fun, sometimes even playing pranks. She doesn’t like super serious situations, but won’t shirk them. She can be quite aggressive when needed, though she dislikes that side of herself, personally. She’s very independent and wants her way, and even if she has to work to get it, once she’s set her heart on something, she’ll go above and beyond for it. Is she selfish? To say the least. She’s aware of it too, and has certainly embraced it as part of herself. However, she’s also aware of her sweeter and gentler side, and when the chance presents itself and she finds she can place trust, it’s that side she prefers to show.

Name: Karter Thomas Zael (KT)
Age: 15
Gender: Male

Personality: Karter is sarcastic, and generally distant. He prefers to avoid company if possible, preferring to focus on doing things on his own. He’s determined to a fault, and once he’s set his mind to something, it WILL get done. He has skills in plenty, and often he brags about them, though he’s out of practice on a good few of them. He’s snappish whenever he’s driven over the edge, and there are a good few things that will send Karter into a rage.
He’s never one to skip out on a fight, and despite his physical challenges, he’s often the one to throw the first punch, and prompts attackers to get them revved up. When put in serious danger, however, Karter will do almost anything to escape- including but not limited to trickery, lying, maiming, or even killing an opponent- and values nobody more than himself. He won’t risk his own life for almost anyone else's. He finds a few rare people and connects with them, and they’re the only ones who have his true trust. Karter is an anxious individual, and has as such trained himself to be an actor. He’s very aware and alert to what’s around him, but one thing always goes over his head. The idea that someone might care about him. GENUINELY care about him, is ridiculous. If anyone shows signs of affection or liking, it'll go over his head and the answer in his mind will most likely be either "that was weird." Or "they're trying to lower my guard." He's very instinctive, and always follows his gut feeling. He has sharp senses, and does his best to put them to good use, priding himself on even that.

He will do anything to benefit himself, even if it means working for all the wrong people. In the end, he doesn't WANT to inflict harm on others in the long-run. He doesn’t WANT to be seen as the 'bad-guy' although he is FULLY aware that in the eyes of many, that’s the role he plays. Bad guy, he can deal with for himself. He knows he has some things about him that would cause people to think of him that way, and he has learned to accept that. He doesn’t want to be the good guy either though for fear of the spotlight. He’s aware of his flaws, and will even acknowledge them, sometimes to the face of others. Karter acknowledges them, but he doesn’t pride himself on them. He is what one would consider an adrenaline junkie, and to get that burst of energy when all else fails, or to defend his pride, whichever comes first, Karter continually puts himself in...precarious situations, and isn’t blind to it.

Karter is flighty, and liable to run from situations, even if it leaves others at risk. He’s selfish and he knows if, and sadly, he has no wish to change things on that front. He feels insecure about a number of things, and for this reason he wears his hoodie constantly, and someone bugging him to take it off- even if just idly- can cause him to snap. He hates being touched and ordered around, more than anything, and it’ll hit a sensitive point for him. He’s trained himself as an actor, and plays it when he needs to. He’s had it tough, but has overall allowed that to harden his will.

Karter does have a soft and supportive side, a side that connects to someone. Once he’s connected to someone, he'll stick with them as long as possible. He tries not to become reliant on them, but this rarely works. In turn, he offers support, trust, and love. He hates showing the softer side of himself, even though he acknowledges that it exists.
