alpha maggwa was an only child whose mother passed away when she was
fourteen. after that, her father always promised her they would go on
vacation, but instead they got cable tv and while alpha's father drank his life
away, alpha raised herself on shows like project runway and america's next
top model. becoming a designer became her new dream, and the one trait
alpha has that stands out above all others is her determination. if she is says
she wants to do something, she is going to do it, and there is absolutely
nothing that can stop her. it's as much of a gift as it is a curse, because it's
also the cause of a lot of alpha's reckless behaviour. she rarely takes the
consequences of her actions into consideration. alpha tends to be more on
the pessimistic side of things, and that goes hand in hand with her
perfectionism. if something is not completely perfect, then it won't work out,
end of story. granted, all of this can make alpha seem like a cold, coarse
person, but she's actually a very compassionate one. she's creative- but that's
a trait anyone with a job like hers needs. however, her level of creativity is
what often makes her stand out from other designers. she wants the best for
everyone she meets, and she's the type of friend who forgets your birthday,
but buys you a green blouse she saw while she was out shopping- because it
was your size and she remembered green was your favourite colour.

growing up, morgan always wished she was invisible so she could spy on other
people. now, she wishes she were invisible because people always stare at her-
after all, she lived through the coffee shop shooting that killed her older brother.
the two were the best of friends, and two years after his death, morgan has very
recently moved to new york, where they always dreamed of moving together.
moving has provided morgan with a sense of closure since then. growing up with a
very wealthy and close-knit family, money is something morgan has never had to
worry about- especially now, during this transition. morgan is finally back to being
her usual, energetic self. she has a mind of her own, and she's the type of person
who, when told not to do something, instantly wants to do that thing. while she
doesn't exactly fit the stereotypical look of what people think of when they hear
the word 'rebellious', it would be a good word to describe her. despite that, she's
a very kind and compassionate person, the type people usually feel inexplicably
drawn to and comfortable around.

morgan is a big fan of the theatre. when she was younger, she had dreams of
being an actress, but now that she's older, she isn't quite sure what she wants to
do with her life. she loves nature, and is especially fond of birds.
as far as dislikes go, morgan doesn't have many, however, she hasn't been able
to stomach coffee for a while. also, she is allergic to cats.

penny beasley is known for two things in her small hometown; her extravagent
sense of fashion, for which she often spends more money on clothing than is
necessary or practical, and for stealing a cop car with her friends last summer.
arguably, it's not her fault. the keys were left in it, and she's always had a taste
for adventure and doing the things she's always been told not to do. penny was
raised by narcissists. having grown up with her parents completely dependent
upon her to feel good about themselves, she was not allowed to explore who she
was for a long time. now that she's older and getting that chance, penny is what
some people might call wild. she lives by her own rules and rarely considers the
consequences of her actions. as a general person, penny is kind of odd. she's
always been fascinated with the macabre, and she's definitely an hp lovecraft
sort of girl. penny can be tough to keep up with- she loses interest in things
quickly so she jumps around from thing to thing, both physically and in
conversation. her parents are the ones responsible for sending her to the camp,
not just to keep her out of trouble after the whole 'stealing a cop car' incident,
but also because, according to them, they could no longer put up with penny's
attitude. penny often refers to her 'attitude' as 'realising she isn't a slave to her
parents', which is really what it is, but with an added sprinkle of drama.
