hold up i'm confused, what's this rp about?
people on a quest to find a ~*magic mystical item*~ that will save many people maybe. eventually there will be a larger, more intricate plot. there will be dragons.
ok but what's with all the info on the rp thread?
that's me getting overexcited haha. this is essentially going to be a worldbuilding rp, but its important to set up some basics. you dont need to read everything by any means, its mostly just there as something to fall back on if youre super confused. feel free to add some things into this universe! its pretty much a blank canvas rn.
tell me more about this 'intricate plot'
it is a secret
have you actually planned this out?
it is a secret
what can i expect from this rp?
angry beasts attacking. thugs attacking. bandits attacking. demons attacking. dragons attacking.
lots of banter between the party. battling injustices against the oppressed. helping oppress people. making evil decisions for good purposes. making good decisions for evil purposes. morally grey choices. some political instability. character angst probably.
is this basically a dnd campaign/an rpg game but written
ive never played dnd but im going to go ahead and assume that yes.
a lot of these concepts seem very similar to those found in dragon age, why is that?
funny story about that...
so why not just make a dragon age rp?
bc not enough people would join it, since pretty much nobody knows about the game on this site and wants to do a thedas rp. also it is more fun to build something semi-new!
this part seems similar to insertpre-existingthinghere
im taking a lot of inspiration/concepts from other sources. mostly dragon age tho. see if you can spot them!
my question isnt on here
feel free to pm me or post below!

She is slightly smaller than the average, with a slightly crooked nose and an even more crooked grin. Her eyes are green-grey, her hair black, curly and cut unevenly at chin-length, with an awkward half-bobbing fringe. She's fairly pretty in a quiet, subtle way, and easily blends in among most crowds, her most prominent trait the constantly scabbed and battered knees and elbows, the usual trace of a fading wound; hardly the kind of thing that would make her easy to find.personality; Her parents blame it all on her masculine middle name, given to her to honour an old family friend. They, of course, are "superstitious, pompous pig-swill," and "know as much as a dog's rear." Alyce would have no doubt have turned out much the same had she been named Jane. She is a flirtatious, bold and inappropriate soul. She claims to be a lover of fine things, and though none doubt she is a lover of many, 'fine' is not how the people she has spent time with would typically be described. She likes luxury, and there is little doubt that most of her time, had she the funding, would be spent charming handsome young lads or lasses. Even so, she's a regular at the Flithy Unicorn, despite her constant complaints of being busy. She spends an inordinate amount of time with a lover in one hand and a chalice of wine in the other. She has apparently no shame whatsoever, and will make distasteful and vulgar comments regardless of the situation. She is, despite common belief, capable of being serious and professional, though she enjoys being difficult so much more. She asks the 'Real Questions' that nobody else asks ("How come Ilian's cloak always is perfectly white and clean" and "If the King were to wed a dwarf would their child be a half-prince?" being two of the less dirty examples) and seems to thrive off of being a pain in everyone else's side.
Alyce's morality is a curious thing. She cares little about petty theft and even backstabbing, but believes in second chances, especially in the case of the less fortunate sorts. She has no qualms over most killings, and in fact, occasionally encourages this in the name of self defence. Honour is, as one would expect, a laughable concept to her.past; Alyce's parents are merchants, and thus she always had enough wealth as a child. Her brother has taken over the family business while her parents amble closer to their deathbeds in retirement. She for some reason however, was never tempted by spending long hours in a dimly lit room, waiting for customers to arrive and attempt to bargain for hours and hours on end. Growing up, she spent a lot of time playing with the 'dirt children' as her mother called them, joining them on their raids to pickpocket from nobles and sneak out shopkeeper's goods.
Gradually, she became more and more involved with their affairs, until one day she found herself being a member of an oddly gang-like cartel. Before she knew what had happened, she had isolated herself almost completely from her family, becoming more and more associated with the group that was quickly becoming a kind of criminal for hire. She became a street spy of sorts, obtaining items, information or heads for a few coins. She became very good at this, making a name for herself as being notoriously efficient and impossible for the guardsmen to catch. As the group gained prestige, so did she, soon rising to one of a number of infamous criminals. She was finally caught, oddly, doing nothing more than pickpocketing. Though she could and should have been executed for her crimes, she was sent, due to her skill and a certain lord who may or may not have had a fondness for her, on the quest, which she sees as good as a deathwish anyway.other; my awful child. the worst but also the best.i l i a n
d e r e i● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● name; ilian dereinickname; sometimes humans call him Ian, he's not too keen on it thoughclas s; mage, elementalrace; elflikes; folklore, books and birds. he really really likes birds.appearance; It is immediately noticeable to anyone that Ilian is an outsider. His skin is the first thing to give this away, as so dark it appears almost black, noticeable even before he speaks and reveals his slightly clipped Northern accent. The contrast between skin and his long hair, usually kept tied in a ponytail or braided, which is a peculiar slightly blonde-tinted white, is the second most evident thing about him. After that, one becomes aware of his eyes; the pale grey-blue of the almost blind, framed by intelligent eyebrows, set against a solemn face. Ilian is just as one would expect from an elf; slender, angular and slightly shorter than the average man, but lacking in some of the muscle one might expect from a species usually partaking in manual labour. His face is, despite his best efforts, slightly softer than even most elven males, retraining a more typically feminine shape, though this is sharpened a little by his angular pale blue tattoos. He has these on his ears, the bridge of his nose, under his chin and along his throat, as well as along his spine, shoulders and arms, though these are usually concealed by his always perfectly white cloak.personality; Ilian is a quiet sort, one who essentially never speaks unless spoken to. It is not, as some might expect, shyness that causes this, but rather a combination of respect and self-preservation; Ilian was raised to never engage someone in conversation, and has spent a long time avoiding attracting attention. He does his best to be reserved and carefully guarded, but he trusts far too easily and warms up to people very quickly. He was an enthusiastic reader, and often quotes and makes references to great works and continues to do so even though the party rarely catches on to it. His sense of humour is subtle and a little peculiar, and sometimes people find it hard to tell if he’s being ironic or sincere. He’s always incredibly polite, and speaks carefully, slowly and deliberately with the kind of vocabulary normally reserved for nobles. He is a highly compassionate and caring individual, and has very strong and usually vocal opinions on mage and elven rights, particularly the latter. He sways constantly between apathetic neutrality and ferocious stubbornness, with little ground in between. He is easily flustered, and is always worried that he has misunderstood social cues and norms. past; Ilian's origins are completely unremarkable. Born to a poor elven woman, he grew up in the slums of Terin, a large trader town in the northern kingdom of Gavalos. As far as life went, it was not so terrible for the average citizen; there was enough wealth for even the poorest of servants to get by, and the important placement of Terin in trade routes meant none were willing to wage war. There was still great injustices and prejudice of course, but relative to other parts, all was well. Only those who bore the unfortunate luck of being mages had no such ease. In Terin, mages are locked up in a glorified prison, to be trained and controlled, unlikely ever to see the light of day again. It is perhaps somewhat unsurprising that young Ilian, who had begun to show rather clear signs (including but not by any means limited to accidentally setting rude people on fire and causing corrupt merchants' goods to float above anyone's reach) magic, was fairly unimpressed by this prospect. He fled the slum. A thirteen year old, inexperienced elf-mage is obviously unlikely to get very far at all in life, before even adding in being hunted down into the equation. Luck was must have been on his side that day however. Exhausted and starving, Ilian crawled into a hollow tree to await death. Salvation came in the form of other elves, though forest-dwellers rather than city ones. Taking pity on the dying wretch, they raised Ilian as one of their own, and rejoiced rather than rejected his magical talents. Ilian grew to be the clan's healer, specialising in the healing and elemental magics. Ilian left one day mysteriously, venturing southwards. Though most of Ilian's past is shared freely, the details over why he abandoned the forest and the north are sketchy at best. He has been travelling around Alondra offering free healing to the poor, relying on their generosity to keep him alive, and moving on whenever the Templars grow too suspicious. He was not born with his eye condition.other; here is the elf idk. he has very very severe shortsightedness; anything beyond about two feet in front of him blurs into a mess of colour. Even close up he cant see details any more.

Her parents were both warriors themselves, though they lived underground and spent a lot of their time mining. She was trained how to fight from a relitivly young age, and trained with almost every type of weapon you could think of; be it a bow, sword, dagger, and even hammers and throwing stars. Kalli was taught to defend herself almost as much as how to fight offence, and became quite skilled fighting with a shield and sword. Now twenty six, she heard of the quest to go in search of Chalice of Alduin, as warriors and adventurers of all types were needed on the journey. Kalli loved her underground home as much as the next dwarf, but the chance to get out and see the world was extremely appealing. Packing only what she could carry, Kalli took her leave from the dwarven tunnels and made her way to the surface. It was sligthty annoying at first, as she was usually the shortest one in any given crowd, even though she was tall for a dwarf. Standing at 4'6", she was "dwarfed" by humans and elves alike. It was almost comical to see the reactions of others when they found out she was a dwarf from the underground kingdom. Visitors were so few and far between some even thought dwarves were a mystical race. Hah! No more mystical than the elves, whom they had cast down and enslaved. The elves and dwarves had never exactly been bosom friends, but even they burned with anger at the attitude the humans and showed the other race. Dwarves had once lived on the surface as well, if close to mountains and their tunnels, but the plight of the elves had drivent them underground and away from the upstart race. Kalli soon received the directions she required, after asking around, and headed towards the named city to meet the others who would be a part of the adventure. Her weapons of choice are a sword, dagger, shield, and body armor that is concealed beneath her fur cloak and clothing.
It is rare to see any kind of smile or laughter on this young dwarf's face. She is not cold or unfriendly so much as serious. There are times when she will allow herself to make light and relax, but most of the time Kalli is very precise and businesslike. Some are driven away by this fact, while others find her trustworthiness and, occasionally brutal, honesty to be endearing qualities. She is very focused and dedicated once she sets her mind to any sort of task, and doesn't give up until she completes it. This trait does cause her to be critical and insensitive, but more often than not it gets the job done. In other words, Kalli isn't so much focused on making friends in the world as blazing her own path through it; she never turns down any aid or help, but isn't one to seek it out either. If you do manage to crack Kalli's hard outer shell, you will find her to be a loyal friend and ally, who will go to the ends of earth for you.

✗ It's not really that fancy, but I hope it works c:
The picture I chose is actually from a website by someone who cosplayed as female characters from the Hobbit, if the cast had been all female. I thought the image was neat, so opted to use it - it's not mine in any way.
Anyway, I look forward to roleplay with all of you!
