The crowd is hysteric. The horses beside him are snorting, pawing, sweating, trembling. He can feel his jockey's heartbeat, pounding with fluttering desperation. His own body shakes; his blood mixes with an invigorating rush of adrenaline, fear, and power. The gates swing open with the sharp clash of a bell, and he's off.

He wakes up with a start, perspiring as he staggers to his feet. He may not have been meant for the track, but that doesn't mean it hasn't permanently engrained itself in his life. To him, every day is a day at the races: breezes, races, paces or gallops, trailers, starting gates, finish lines. Walking, relaxing, rolling in the pastures -- all of these things are foreign to him, and he can't learn them on his own. He needs you to help him. He doesn't have any other choice. It's all mental, and he doesn't know any better.

He needs a rescuer. Won't you be that for him?

╔══════════════════════════════════════════════╗

This is Nicole Skylar Hill, and though she's commonly simply called Nicole by her peers, she'll answer to Nikki as well. She is, obviously, a young lady, and is about twenty-one years old, although she's often thought to be a couple years younger than she actually is. She's about five feet, seven inches tall, making her one of the shorter girls around the barn, though among the general public she still has to look down on the majority of those she meets. When she's trying to be pretty, she'll curl her hair into grand, organized locks, but on a regular basis she simply lets her hair curl into its own smaller waves, and though she normally keeps it down until she's riding, she's been known to rush into the barn late with her hair thrown into a messy bun. Length-wise, it extends until about the bottom of her shoulder blade, and is a dark, chocolate brown in color. Nicole's eyes are a pale forest green with darker emerald shading and her skin tone is perpetually just shy of pale. Formerly, Nicole had competed in three-day eventing and had tried her hand at hunters when she was younger, but upon getting Keep, she has decided to focus almost exclusively on dressage. She'd love to try out hunters with him, however, if he's able to do it well, and hopes that she can borrow a friend's horse every now and then to mess around with eventing at a couple shows. For whatever reason, she's not really one for casual attire when out riding dressage; you won't see her wearing a coat, of course, but she still prefers sand-colored breeches and white show shirts to skinny jeans and t-shirts. Of course, she could care less if other people choose to do so; her more formal attire serves to keep her focused on the training, but that's her only reason for it. When it comes to casual, fun riding, she's more than willing to hop on and take off in whatever she's wearing. In places that aren't the horse barn, she'll usually wear a sweater and jeans in the winter and fall, but she generally hangs around her home when she isn't with the horses. Nicole has been riding since she was little, maybe six or seven years, starting out on a little dun lesson pony named Buttercup that her parents thought might quench her thirst for horses. It didn't. She showed hunters until she was twelve years old, then decided that the pretty little courses for pretty little ponies had gotten a bit old. Not that she disliked hunters; she'd simply been riding it for too long. So she made the switch to jumpers, which made her parents a bit nervous -- watching a cherished only daughter go from safe, predictable jumps maxing out at 3' to high-speed rollbacks and double oxers reaching as high as 5" never leaves a comfortable feeling in the pit of a parent's stomach. Nicole knew and embraced the difference; the jumps would give way as easily as ever, and not being judged on appearance made it easier to focus on safety rather than having to constantly try to look pretty, but the Mr. and Mrs. Hill were anxious nonetheless. To try to assuage their nervousness, they went out and found a well-trained, well-mannered Selle François that they were certain could carry their daughter over every jump safely and leased him for her. And carry Nicole he could -- unfortunately, she started to realize that Cody could do so much more than just jumpers. A few fun cross-country runs and experimental dressage tests later and Nicole was competing all-out in three-day eventing. While the sight of Nicole charging full-speed down a hill to meet a three or four foot jump at the bottom never ceased to set her parents' hearts racing, eventually they realized that Nicole was a good enough rider to avoid injury and that there was no way they could stop her from the sport she adored. She continued in three-day eventing even after her lease on Cody was up and began riding others' horses for them to keep them in shape, which she loved, despite missing the feeling of having a horse of her own. When she finally found Keep, she was delighted; she'd never ridden a standardbred before, but was eager to try. With other people, Nicole is naïve and innocent, and often isn't entirely sure why something can't work until it's explained to her fully. Always the optimist, she prefers to have a Plan A and stick with it 'til its dying breath rather than have a Plan B or even a Plan C, which can sometimes make her a bit irrational when she refuses to see that something is failing. She's very friendly and honestly wants to be liked by everyone, whatever that may entail, and easily has her feelings hurt as a result. However, she's usually over it in a couple of days and would much prefer making up to holding a grudge. Nicole has never been in a relationship and has no crush.

Meet Keeping Time, a handsome young gelding standing at 15.3 hands high. He's a Standardbred, taken off the track at four years of age, although by his actual birth date he's almost five. Keep, as he's called around the barn, was a pacer in harness racing, and therefore struggles with cantering and trotting, though he's a quick learner and is incredibly willing. He's got a thin build, even for a Standardbred, and is leggier than usual, which makes him a bit more like a Thoroughbred than most Standardbreds. The remainder of his conformation, however, instantly identifies him as a Standie, and Nicole hopes that once she gets his weight up, he'll fit in a bit better with his Standardbred brothers and sisters. He has a single white sock on his left hind leg and a large star on his forehead; other than that, he's a bright bay with a surprisingly silky coat. Nicole plans to train him in dressage, and though she'd love to jump him as well, she recognizes that Keep simply may not be cut out for that conformationally, and she's okay with that. Given his more thoroughbred-y legs, however, it's quite uncertain at this point and could really go either way. With other horses, Keep tends to be more aggressive towards colts and stallions and usually prefers sticking with mares and the occasional mellow gelding. This may be a result of his being gelded late, although he's never made any attempts to mate with any mares, nor does he show any other stallion-like tendencies. There's some speculation that he may associate other males with his racing days and, as a result, feels the need to keep a certain distance between the two of them. He was shown in a variety of small, local races from when he could first begin racing, and apparently did very well for himself at the start. As time went on, Keep began drifting towards the middle of the pack, coming in fourth or fifth almost every time -- it wasn't enough to break the barn's bank, but having a racehorse that can never win is somewhat disheartening. After a few years of the racing industry, he was sold by the barn and allowed to begin his new career as a riding horse. It's technically unsure why Keep's racing career was ended, although Nicole imagines that his times simply began to go down to a more concerning level and his owner could no longer justify holding on to him. Towards other humans, Keep tends to be very reserved in giving affection, though occasionally he'll become very clingy and nervous and will wait anxiously at the gate or stall door until attended to. He's also highly intelligent and takes to learning tricks well, though this can occasionally result in his being stubborn and a bit of an over-thinker. He's incredibly curious, which brings about a host of other traits, and finds little kids to be incredibly fascinating. Additionally, Keep has the odd quirk of tipping his head when he's puzzled, all the way to the left, and it's nothing neurological; it's simply how he's come to react to perplexing situations. His sire is My Brother's Keeper, by Keeping Secrets out of Prodigal Daughter, and his dam is Pampered Thief, by Take That Cat out of Spa Day.

This is Elijah Braxton Smith, a handsome young man of twenty-three years. He's six feet tall, almost on the dot, which he feels is fortunate because he might otherwise look a bit odd on Rachel. As it is, her barrel takes up just enough of his leg to allow him to fit comfortably. Elijah has short, dark brown hair and dark eyes to match, though the latter are prone to seemingly lightening and darkening, depending on his mood. He's relatively tan from time spent practicing his sport, though his general retainment of his fairly tan skin tone even during the winter months suggests that it's more what he was born with than anything. Elijah gives the appearance of being highly businesslike and proper and tends to wear the typical jodhpurs and polo shirt when he's getting ready to ride, although truthfully he's just as wont to throw on any old t-shirt and head down to the barn in well-worn old jeans. When it gets cold, he'll often simply throw a jacket on rather than beginning to wear long-sleeved shirts and the like. Elijah's experience in three-day eventing started when he began riding at fourteen, and he's never competed in another discipline. He was, it seemed, a natural; in reality, he was so instantly dedicated to the sport that he pushed himself far beyond what his trainers had asked him to do. It felt as though he had finally found what he'd been unable to in other sports -- the rush of adrenaline, flying over five foot jumps, racing against the clock -- dressage was the slightest bit boring for him, as one might expect, but he grew to appreciate the refinement and power displayed within the discipline as he grew to appreciate the horse. His first was a little thoroughbred mare by the name of Penny, and though he decided to switch to a warmblood as he grew older to preserve the little chestnut's sensitive back, he became quite fond of her and visited Penny regularly until a horrible attack of colic stole her away at the age of fifteen. The warmblood never appealed to him quite as much as Penny had; aside from the pre-existing dangers of eventing, he had been forced to deal with Penny's occasionally temperamental side, which had made the sport that much more of a challenge. This warmblood was perfect, a star, safe as anything and a real push-button ride, but the sport just began to feel a big stagnant, as though he wasn't being challenged. Not that he was always placing first; far from it, in fact, as he had actually done significantly better with Penny as his mount. He decided that some sort of riding team might be better for him, as there he was faced with the mental challenge of excelling on a horse he had merely drawn from a hat. He continued in that up until he found Rachel, and he immediately decided to resign from the team and focus on working with her. With other people, Elijah tends to be a bit reserved at first, though he's certainly no less friendly than if he had known them for a lifetime. After he's spent quite a bit of time with a person, he becomes significantly more relaxed and even playful with his newfound company, and he's generally considered by others to be a good, honest friend. He'd prefer to be liked by everybody, but knowing someone hates him really doesn't faze him very much. In general, he's pretty easygoing and enjoys helping out, whatever that may entail, although his lack of concern over others' thoughts about him can occasionally make him appear rude or careless. Elijah has never been in a relationship and has no crush.

╔══════════════════════════════════════════════╗

This is I Robbed Rachel, a lovely young mare who measures about 15.2 hands high. She's an ex-flat racer at six years of age and still has a hard time getting over her racing days, often taking it upon herself to take off at a full gallop just for the sake of running. As a paint horse, Rachel has the typical stocky body, and despite her racing career, has a fairly short back and large cannon bone as well. Rachel is a medicine hat paint with patches of color on both of her hips, her chest, and her back as well. Although she is technically black, Rachel has a difficult time keeping the color and generally looks like a liver chestnut. Additionally, she has one blue eye, though often it cannot be noticed unless viewing intensely her head-on because neither eye color looks out of place from the side. She's got a uniquely rough coat, no matter what conditioner anyone may try to use on her, but the ease of washing the dirt out of her coat the day of a dressage test is good enough for Elijah. He plans to show her in three-day eventing and given her boldness, she'll likely do well enough transitioning into the competitions. Her biggest struggle will be dressage, as Rachel tends to be a bit of a speed demon and prefers going to stopping. This tends to make her rather antsy at times. However, she has a powerful jump and sound mind, which should help her make up for any points she loses in dressage. When it comes to other horses, Rachel gets along with both mares and geldings equally well, but she is generally a more dominant mare and can get into fights with horses who try to push her to the bottom of the pecking order. She doesn't have a problem with being second or third, but she won't tolerate being pushed around like some horses will. Often when being ridden under saddle, she'll act rather aggressively towards other horses that come near, but she's never followed through with a threat. With people, she is highly interactive and playful, and though she isn't sweet and cuddly, Rachel will willingly tolerate hugs and kisses and has been known to groom other people as a display of affection. Due to her impatient nature and need to move, she will paw when she is left unattended or forced to stand still, and she cannot be tied up for more than a few minutes. Elijah hopes to get her to relax a bit and recognize that it's okay to not be running, but whether it's a habit from her racing days or a personality trait is still unclear. Rachel was a good little racer and raced at a couple local tracks, even making it to a few of the bigger tracks during her high points. Her barn took a hit from the economy, however, and ultimately decided to quit while they were ahead. They were unable to find a racing home for her and tried to win a few more races with her, and though she did very well, it was simply too much to keep the barn going. Elijah found her at a higher-level auction and decided to change her name to Roses for Rachel, figuring that she deserved a much nicer name than the one she had, and subsequently began working to put some weight on her. Her sire is Armed and Ready, out of Ready Rachel by Call to Arms, and her dam is Guilty Treasure, out of Ghost Town Gossip by Secret Society.

race name: give away the roses
barn name: baylee rose, bales
age: 4 years old
gender: mare
breed: purebred quarter horse
rider: Allyson [wip]
disciplines: hunters and jumpers
This is none other than Give Away the Roses. Standing at roughly 16 hands, Baylee Rose is a sprinter on the track, having a decent track record to say the least, getting quite a few big purse earnings in her time. Although very good on ground, being sweet and very affectionate, in saddle she can be a huge hassle and that showed in the races, as she has a terrible habit of wiggling, trying to lean in to other lanes of traffic. Thus resulting in very selective jockeys for the mare. As time went on, her jockey became very well-known, and was pulled off her to be on grander mounts of huge ranks and continent-wide success. They had put a few jockeys on her to test it out, but it seemed she was a lot harder to deal with than they thought. With no jockey, they had no choice but to expel from her sprint-racing life. Without the ability to keep her for a real reason, she sent off to just about anyone who would pay the money. She was bought for a young girl whose parents didn't care much to see Baylee's background and had minimal horse knowledge. So when they bought her, she took off flying. After this happening so many times, they simply left her out in the paddock until Ally spotted the mare in a paddock one day and took her in.
Ally's intentions are to bring Baylee Rose into jumpers as her speed and agility could prove beneficial to that discipline; she could see the quarter horse had a beautiful and powerful jump. As Ally sees Baylee is learning and coming along, she was thinking maybe she'd bring her horse into hunters once she gained better communication and control of the mare. Baylee Rose is a true sweetheart who loves others around her and is very well behaved, but just has some bad habits under saddle as well as being a major cribber. Her sudden taking off at even the slightest loud noise or kick to the side seems to set some off.

B i r d . W i t h o u t . W i n g s . . .

n a m e . her name is Bird Without Wings because of her speed and beautiful movement. When she was born she was given the name Desperate Times because of her breeding -long story- but later on when people saw her move, they changed it to Bird Without Wings. Her jockey called her Breezy for short.
a g e . Breezy is seven years old. she was started on the track at age two, but taken off not too long ago because of an accident.
g e n d e r . she is obviously a mare. She had been bred once, but the foal was stillborn.
b r e e d . Bird Without Wings is a purebred Thoroughbred.
s t a l l . Breezy is in stall number twelve.
r i d e r . Breezy was rescued by a young woman named Elaine Rose Boman. She will be trained in three-day eventing.
d e s c r i p t i o n . Breezy is 17 hands tall and slim. She is slightly underweight, but nothing that can't be fixed with a little extra feed. Her legs are long -made for the track- and her body quite muscular. She has a smaller, but sturdy neck and big brown eyes. Her mane has been cut quite short, though her tail reaches a few inches below her hocks. Breezy's coat is short and thin, so she must wear a blanket at any time other than summer. Her coat is dappled with light and dark grey and her front legs are very dark grey. Her face is quite light and has a few scars on it. Her ears are dark grey.
p e r s o n a l i t y. Breezy is a very interesting mare. She is very skittish of those she does not know, but once she knows you will not hurt her, she is quite loving and friendly. She is aggressive toward other mares and prefers the company of a gelding. This big mare is quite intelligent and willing, and for the most part has no issue with loud noises or bright, flashy things. The one thing she is absolutely terrified of is dogs. This has to do with a part of her past, and she will do anything to get away from a dog, even if it is not bothering her. Other than that, she has a semi-large fear of any kind of whip, and she is also fearful of hats.
h i s t o r y . Born in the midst of winter, Breezy was a rare foal. Breezy was born on December 12th in Richmond, Kentucky at a tiny racing stable. Her dam was a retired racer of 23 years. This was to be her last foal. The racing stable was going out of business and so they had made the desperate choice to breed their mare one last time. And so the foal was dubbed with the name Desperate Times. As it was the last foal they would ever get, they cared very greatly for her. They halter broke her at the age of one month, but never took her from her dam for more than ten minutes at a time. As she got older, they kept her away for longer and let her graze in a pasture with some of the other retired racers they had. The took great care in keeping her healthy and making sure her hooves were well treated. She was the beloved prize of the man and woman who owned the stable. At one year old, they took her out with her dam and ponied her around the track to see how she took to it. They also watched her gallop around the pasture happily and knew that she was perfect for the race track.
When her real training started, she was wonderful. She took the saddle with ease and only bucked once when a rider sat astride her. And as they began working her on the track, they watched her legs move and were amazed by her speed and grace. It was then that they changed her name to Bird Without Wings. Not long after her name change, her jockey started calling her Breezy, and it stuck. They trained for eight months before putting her in her first race. It was a small race and they were not worried about her placement. They figured she would get third or fourth, and that was fine with them. she was, after all, quite young and inexperienced. But to their surprise, their beloved little mare won first place in the race. That night she was rewarded with extra treats and bran mash.
Throughout the next few years, Breezy won the majority of races she was entered in. She lost a few, but her breeders didn't mind that, as she was an amazing horse to them and they cared for her no matter what. It was around the time that Breezy turned five that tragedy struck. Her breeder passed away of a heart attack in his sleep. His wife was heartbroken, and to add to her distress, she had to sell the stable and all of the horses on the property. This man came by to look at horses, and he seemed kind enough, so she sold Breezy to him. But he was not the kind man he appeared to be. Breezy was taken by the man the next day and by the time the woman had realized the man was not what she thought, it was already too late.
Breezy was taken to a big racing stable and at first, the mare was content in her big box stall. But after a few days, she met her new jockey and he was quite cruel. Her new owner was no better. The big, cruel man had many dogs that he had turned mean, and they often attacked Breezy and the other horses. And her jockey used a whip with everything he did. The young man had hard hands and yanked on her mouth and used a whip even when it wasn't needed. Through her fear and pain, Breezy began to decline. She stopped placing in the top three horses and she even colicked several times. But the humans around her only wanted a winner. After two years, they left a race in Lexington, and left her abandoned on the track. She was rescued by Elaine only a few days ago.

E l a i n e . R o s e . B o m a n . . .

n a m e . Her full name is Elaine Rose Boman, but most people call her "Flint Eyes" because of her grey-blue eyes. She also answers to Elaine.
a g e . Elaine is twenty-one years old.
g e n d e r . She is obviously a young woman.
p e t s . Elaine has a month old Pygmy Goat and ten year old Maine Coon tom cat.
d i s c i p l i n e . Elaine competes in three day eventing. Her horse's name is Bird Without Wings.
d e s c r i p t i o n . Elaine is around six foot one and one-hundred-sixty pounds. She is fairly muscular and strong, as she grew up on a ranch working with her brother and father. She has dark brown hair that fall in waves just below her shoulders and somewhat tan skin. Her eyes are a pale grey-blue and have earned her the name "Flint Eyes." She actually like the nickname and would prefer to be called by it. Her usual attire is black and grey breeches, black knee-high English riding boots, and a plain short-sleeve, tank top, or long sleeve, depending on the weather. She almost always has dirt on her hands or face, but she really doesn't care.
p e r s o n a l i t y . Elaine Rose Boman is a quiet young woman. She doesn't talk a lot, even to those she knows. When she talks, she is very sweet and caring, unless you make her mad. If you make her mad, she would rather shoot you than look at you. Though, she would never actually do that. Its just that she would prefer to do that. Besides this, Elaine is a calm, quiet young woman who mostly keep to herself and those few friends she has.
h i s t o r y . Elaine grew up on a ranch. She rode with her mom and dad, and sometimes her brother would let her ride with him. Her brother is five years older than she is, and he considers her his baby sister, even now. Sadly, her mother passed away when Elaine was ten years old. Elaine had been very close with her mother and not very close with her father, so she took this very hard. She would hide in the barn for days in the stall of her mom's horse. The only person she would even talk to was her brother. He would take her out for rides, them riding double bareback on his horse. Sometimes, she got to ride her mom's horse.
As she got older, she missed her mom less, but even today she still misses her dearly. Her mother was an English rider, and Elaine took after her. She learned to compete in every English discipline she could, but finally she settled on three day eventing. She has trained and ridden many a horse in this competition and her preferred breed for this is a Thoroughbred, which is ironic, as she has just rescued a seven year old Thoroughbred mare.

Image

C h l o e . . .
n a m e . Her name is Chloe. Simple as that.
a g e . Chloe is about a month old, maybe a little older.
g e n d e r . Chloe is a female goat, also known as a nannie when in adulthood.
b r e e d . She is a Nigerian Dwarf Goat.
d e s c r i p t i o n . Chloe is about seven inches tall and weighs about six pounds. She is almost all white with just a few specks of black here and there on her face. Her hooves are tiny and light brown and her legs are pretty slender. She has little ears that usually stick up and her eyes are blue.
p e r s o n a l i t y . Chloe is sweet and playful, always ready to play. She follows Elaine around everywhere, but also knows how to stay. She likes being held and cuddled, and will run up to anyone to get attention.
h i s t o r y . Chloe was born a month ago so there isn't much to tell. Her mother died and she and her siblings were sold. Elaine took her and has been bottled feeding her and training her.

Image

J a i l e r . . .
n a m e . His name is Jailer.
a g e . Jailer is about ten years old, though he still acts like a kitten. Elaine thinks he still has quite a few years left in him.
g e n d e r . Jailer is a tom cat, or a male.
b r e e d . He is a purebred Maine Coon cat.
d e s c r i p t i o n . Jailer is a very big cat, being a Maine Coon tom. His long fur is soft and smoky brown. Towards his head he has black tabby stripes and fur of a darker, richer brown. He has four white paws and a tiny thread of white down his face. His huge, fluffy tail is dark brown and black.
p e r s o n a l i t y . Jailer can be a bit of a jerk sometimes, but normally he is a sweetheart. He likes to hang out in the barn and earns his keep by killing mice. When he is not found dozing in the rafters above the stalls or in the hay hunting mice, he will be found babysitting Chloe. The big tom has somewhat adopted the little goat and he even plays with her. He also enjoys riding any horse that will let him get on, and he is careful not to use his claws.
h i s t o r y . Jailer was born in a litter of seven kittens. He was the only male. Elaine had been promised first pick of the litter and she chose him. She brought him home as soon as he was weaned and litter is trained him, though now a days he spends most of his time outside. She used to put him on her shoulder and he would ride around up there, but now he is too big. Now he rides horses when he can. When Elaine brought Chloe home and litter of trained the little goat, Jailer seemed to help. He would bat at the little goat gently and kept an eye on her. It is quite funny to watch him babysit because he does kind of seem like a jailer. He keeps her near him if they are together, and even if you can't see him, if Chloe is nearby, he is watching her.

Image

S a h a r a . S t o r m . . .
n a m e . His name is Sahara Storm for many reasons. Though most refer to him as Storm.
a g e . He is just about six years old.
g e n d e r . Storm has recently been gelded. He had been a stallion for six years and bred several times.
b r e e d . Sahara Storm is purebred Arabian from Saudi Arabia. He is of highly prized bloodlines on both sides.
s t a l l . Storm is in a private turn-out permanently because he becomes dangerous when kept trapped in a stall. Though when he has no choice, he is in stall seven.
r i d e r . He will be trained and ridden by Emmitt Kolm Glessary.
d e s c r i p t i o n . A sleek, muscular body with a fine, sculpted head is Storm. His legs are thin but sturdy, made for the desert sand. He is about fourteen hands tall and at an okay weight, possibly slightly underweight. His coat is a dark caramel chestnut color, his mane and tail slightly lighter. His mane is quite long and silky, as is his high lifted tail. Storm's hooves are small but strong and his eyes are a deep chocolate brown. He has three white socks and a white star and snip.
p e r s o n a l i t y. Storm is wild and frightening at his best. He is barely halter broken now a days and must have his halter on at all times. He bites and kicks to get his point across and becomes deadly when trapped in a stall. When he is in a pasture, he is approachable, but you should still be cautious. Storm may seem like he just hates everyone and everything, but in reality he is scared. He is afraid of everything and he will not let anyone with tack near him. He will rear, buck, kick and bite to get away from any piece of tack or supplies. The one thing he allows is a small rag. Anything else is hopeless. Sahara Storm did not have the best past and that has turned him into a "demon horse" as some people call him. But maybe someday someone will show him that not everything is bad.
h i s t o r y . He was born in a small oasis hidden from all other tribes. Or so it was thought. Storm was born to a prize raid mare and a champion racing stallion. This beautiful colt was fast, quiet, and kind, though completely wild to any who tried to ride him. When he was a yearling, there was a raid on his tribe and he was taken. He fought hard, not liking the ropes, but as he was a yearling, there was not much he could do. And so he ended up in a life he did not like; a life of being ridden. He was put into a few races and as long as he could run, he didn't mind his rider. But then, there was another raid. This raid actually had a few Americans participating. These Americans were friends of the Bedouin shaykh. When the raid was over and successful, these two Americans got to choose one horse to take back to America with them. They chose Sahara Storm. They took him to America and put him in a few races. They struggled with getting him saddled and bridled, and ended up manhandling him. But, he was a beautiful racer. He was fast and his gaits were smooth. Only when another gelding got near him did he act up in a race. And it was one of these times that got him taken off the track permanently. He was winning the race, and suddenly a gelding was beside him. Storm pinned his ears and tried to bite the other horse but his jockey didn't let him. Then, when the other horse ignored him, Storm actually managed to bite the horse, hard. But in doing this, he lost focus and his footing, and went down. He broke his leg in the fall and the jockey was unconscious. The other horse's owner was furious and demanded Storm be banned from racing. And so, here he is. He is now in the hands of Emmitt Glessary.

E m m i t t . K o l m . G l e s s a r y . . .
n a m e . The name is Emmitt Kolm Glessary. He goes by Kolm.
a g e . Kolm is about twenty years old. He turns twenty-one soon however.
g e n d e r . He is obviously a young man.
d i s c i p l i n e . He mainly does cross country.
d e s c r i p t i o n . Kolm is five foot eleven and one-hundred-forty pounds. He has shortish dirty blond hair and fair complexion. He is muscular, but not overly so. His nose and cheeks are sprinkled lightly with freckles and eyes are light blue. He usually wears grey breeches, a button up short-or-long-sleeved shirt and his dark green riding jacket.
p e r s o n a l i t y . Kolm is a quiet young man. He is kind and caring, not a mean bone in his body. Even if he gets mad, he forgives quickly. He likes to help people with anything they need help with, and he never asks for anything in return. Kolm loves horses and was raised around them. He knows practically anything there is to know about the Arabian breed because it is his favorite breed. He'll answer any question thrown at him, though he likes to be alone sometimes with just horses around him.
h i s t o r y . Kolm was born into an English riding family. His father was an instructor and trainer and his mother was an Olympic champion and instructor. He learned to ride at age two and got his first horse on his fifth birthday. He began jumping when he was four and continued on through his life. After a few years, he took a liking to cross country more than dressage of show jumping. And so, he began competing in cross country and him and his different mounts won a few ribbons. He began training and riding Arabians in high school and loved the breed. He has been working with them ever since freshman year. Not long ago, he acquired a wild, frightened stallion that he had the vet geld. He hopes to tame the beautiful horse and train him for cross country.

Hey, all!

Just wanted to let you all know that I'd like to start this rp by this weekend, perhaps earlier, so if you all could try to get the basic forms in, that would be fantastic! <3 I don't mind if they don't look gorgeous or if the personality/history isn't done yet; as long as I've got the basics for your character and you've proved to me elsewhere that you're sufficiently literate, we'll be good to go ^^

I may suggest doing your forms as I did if you're having trouble getting everything all sorted out; my forms usually take me weeks, but writing everything into a paragraph about the character was actually pretty easy -- it just kind of flowed out and I was done within an hour or so for each character. Even if it isn't how you want to have your finished forms looking, it's a good start and helpful in getting your thoughts together c:

Just a suggestion -- either way, I can't wait to start! <3

All right, guys! So glad to be seeing your forms! In order to have enough people to start this off properly, we'll start as soon as I get one more user's forms in, so if you all know anybody who might be interested, feel free to shoot them a PM! <3
