So he’d assume he was human and then get his powers and get upset

Bits of information about him

Edmund is a complete sweetheart. He's got the biggest heart out of anybody you'll know. He loves talking to you about the outdoors and how trees grow and the science behind a rainbow. He wants to go to school in order to learn more about this sort of thing. Ed lived with his brother, Micheal, for a very long time and he looks up to him as a defender of the lost kids. Of course he doesn't still live with him, he's grown old enough to take care of himself in the town. He does feel a bit apprehensive about knowing his brother works with the lost kids, and he's a human just living life in the town. He figures at some point people will come to question him.
Ed hates being stuck inside learning about useless things he'll never use in the real world. He loves the freedom of choice.
He's really bad at cooking and would probably order takeout instead of cooking something himself. He owns two pet cats and loves them both dearly.
As a child, Edmund had to walk around with special carriers in order to keep him upright until he was big enough for the smallest set of crutches they had. When he got older he had to be confined to a wheelchair for a little bit. He and his brother were once playing by a lake, and it was a bit warm out. The bank he was sitting on collapsed due to erosion underneath the surface and brought him straight into the lake. He was completely freaked out, screaming and thrashing about as the young child began to drown and that was all he remembers. It was life changing for him and he never goes into water or around water, though he's okay with sitting beside a stable lakebed or watching from the shore.

Edmund has club feet, both of his feet are rolled up inwards and they prevent him from walking normally. He wears special socks that go over them and he basically just walks around on crutches. His legs still work enough for him to balance on the ground as he moves, like normal legs would be used when walking with crutches.
This doesn't stop him from living his fullest life and exploring the world around him.

His powers, which are unknown to him, consist of the ability to manipulate water with his mind. Pretty underwhelming I get it. He can make it rain when he wants, he had move molecules of water where he needs. He has yet to figure this power out and continues to believe he's human until he figures them out

and he came out to his parents. to his father, being gay was
apparently worse than being a humanoid, and ben was kicked
out. he and his sister, katherine, lived in the woods until they
were found by peacekeepers and she was captured. benjamin
found the lost kids a week later and has been terrified of the
peacekeepers ever since. he's been there for about six years.

a jokester. but since he was kicked out, he's just felt empty.
