Interest Check for Roleplays [rule update June 2018]

I have an idea for a roleplay set in the Naruto Universe, with canon divergence during the Third Shinobi War. I'm looking for 2-3 people who will make characters for Haigakure, an isolationist Hidden Village residing in the Land of Fire. They will take on the role of a genin team, as they move through the world and the secrets of the Village while I take on more of a DND-esque Gamemaster approach. You control your characters, while I control most of the rest of the world.

Intro

Hidden on the cusp of the of the border between the Land of Fire and the Land of Whirlpools lies Haigakure, the Village Hidden Among Ash. Formed shortly before the first Shinobi World War by a Konoha kunoichi running away from an arranged marriage, the village initially expanded by opening it's doors to anyone in need of a refuge, regardless of previous affiliation. When this nearly destroyed the village, five years later, the kunoichi, Inuzuka Kyota, uprooted Haigakure and moved them underground. With the help of her lover, Uzumaki Kanebi, and Kanebi's knowledge of seals and immense ability, effectively wiped the presence of Haigakure off the radar. Together, the two established the Council of Sages, a ruling triumvirate of three who each handled different matters in the village: The Sage of Wisdom, the Sage of Chakra, and the Sage of Secrets.

With time, the village fell into obscurity and isolationism, until ninja rarely left, and it's name nothing but a forgotten legend. Haigakure's new generation has never seen beyond it's tunnels, and the Sage of Wisdom intends to keep it that away. But, not everyone agrees with this ideology. A young upstart being appointed to the position of Sage of Secrets has shaken Haigakure's foundation and the newest generation is just about ready to become genin.

Please let me know if you're interested! I'm looking for 2-3 people who are LGBT+ friendly and open to me liberally bending the Naruto timeline + canon. (It's a confusing mess, let's be real.) You don't need any in-depth knowledge of the animanga to join. I'm kinda creating my own stuff with Haigakure, and there may be a couple of changes to the way it's society functions. I'm looking for people who can write at least a sentence or two in response to whatever I come up with. The roleplay will function in arcs, with the occasional timeskip.

This role-play is inspired by the book series by Leigh Bardugo.
The role play will diverge from canon but will stay pretty true to the books!

Plot:
Surrounded by enemies, the once-great nation of Ravka has been torn in two by the Shadow Fold, a swath of near impenetrable darkness crawling with monsters who feast on human flesh. Now its fate may rest on the shoulders of three refugees. The three demonstrate their [unknown to themselves] powers when their regiment is attacked by the volcara on the fold. Wrenched from everything they know, the three are whisked away to the royal court to be trained as members of the Grisha, the magical elite led by the mysterious Darkling. Yet nothing in this lavish world is what it seems. With darkness looming and an entire kingdom depending on their untamed powers.


There will be two summoners, an undecided number of trackers, and those who are Grisha on the three's side helping them track the amplifiers they need (the antlers, feathers, and the last amplifier).



[Ravka is a nation bordered by Fjerda to the north, Shu Han to the south, and the True Sea to the west.]



The Fold:
The Shadow Fold was a section of nearly impenetrable darkness that grew every year and contained volcra among other unnamed horrors. The Shadow Fold, located in the once rich Tula Valley, cuts directly across the Vy, a wide road that once stretched across the land connecting Os Alta to the port cities on Ravka's western coast.

On maps, the Shadow Fold was shown as a long, narrow lake, a stain, and sometimes just a bleak and shapeless cloud. The Fold is often labeled by its other name the Unsea intended to put soldiers and merchants at ease and encourage crossings. Animals were too noisy and easily scared for travel on the Fold, so crossings were made on sandskiffs with enormous sails that skated almost soundlessly over the dead grey sands. Traversing the Fold was the only way to provide a landlocked Ravka of critical supplies. And so skiffs were always loaded with grain, timber and raw cotton, and on the way back they would be stocked with sugar, rifles and all manner of finished goods passing through the seaports of West Ravka.

So I’ve come here to see if anyone would be interested in either a group roleplay or a 1x1 of downton abbey? I really want to do a downton abbey roleplay with all the main characters and of course our own too! I’m still working out the plot but it’ll probably just be simple normal downton. figured i'd throw this out here to see if anyone else is interested in potentially starting a dungeons & dragons-based roleplay. unfortunately, i have no plot set in stone as i a) don't want to waste my time on thinking up and fully developing an idea nobody is interested in and b) think it'd make more sense and be more fun to let everyone collaborate on and come up with something together c:

you don't have to be a d&d veteran to join this - i myself do not (yet) have a group to play d&d with, but greatly enjoy the settings, races, classes, and other things offered by the d&d universe and often write in it. as long as you're interested in this type of fantasy framework and are willing to fall back on resources now and again (mostly just for things such as established races and classes, though "homebrewing" your own is also very much an option and encouraged), we're golden!

important notes:


- i'd like to keep the rp somewhat literate - a solid 250 to 500 words per character post is ideal, but more than that is definitely welcome. don't be afraid to reach out if you're interested, but have little to no experience with more literate forms of roleplay yet. i'm very open to accepting anyone looking to get into it, and am always willing to offer help if you're ever struggling with it as well

- the roleplay would be more relaxed for reply frequency, as my time and energy usually don't permit me to write daily/frequent replies myself and i don't like forcing others to do so either. if you're looking for something that's going to move at a rapid pace, it may be better for you to not join up for this

- while there will definitely be a discussion thread on CS to post forms, chat, plot, headcanon, and do all sorts of other fun things in, if all interested users are open to the idea, i'm down to make a dedicated discord server for the RP group too
