I have a list of plot ideas all detailed below - let me know which one you'd like to do, the gender pairing you'd like to do for it, and any questions/ideas you might have (provided you fit the requirements for a rp partner below, and I fit your requirements as well). As will become clear very quickly, I have a particular love for enemies to lovers/opposites attract tropes.
**If you've messaged me before and I didn't reply, feel free to message again, I may have lost/entirely forgotten to reply back!**
- 1. Opposites Attract
- There's a few different classic settings/tropes under this (though almost everything in this search post is some form of this lol).
- Muse A is from the city, and ends up in the country for one reason or another (inheriting a house? Sent out there for work? Visiting a family member?) where they meet Muse B, a countryperson through and through, and perhaps owns (or their family owns) a ranch/farm. The two have a contentious run in - Muse A looks down on Muse B for being a 'country bumpkin' and Muse B considers Muse A to be stuck up and uptight - but over time, as the two have to spend more time together, their perceptions of each other are challenged. It's not until Muse A realises they're expected to return home to the city within the next couple of weeks that there's feelings they've been trying to ignore.
- Muse A has just opened their florist, which is right next to a tattoo parlour, which is owned by Muse B. With similar opening and closing times, the two often encounter each other at least once a day as they arrive/leave their respective stores at the same time. Maybe they hit it off from the start, or a bit of uncertainty, but either way, don't really get much interaction until Muse B enters Muse A's shop to get a better look at a flower that was requested by one of their customers for a tattoo. And then suddenly the two are finding excuses to go into each others shops ("I thought you'd like a visual reference while you work"/"Someone requested another flower"). Alternatively, things are a bit tense because while Muse A is playing light indie music, Muse B plays loud rock music that can be heard in Muse A's florist, which is starting to put off customers, so Muse A resolves to confront Muse B about it.
- Muse A is a superhero working for the most well-known superhero/Earth defence organisation. Muse B is a supervillain, who works for themselves and causes chaos. Eventually, one day, Muse B is captured by the superhero organisation and forced to participate in their 'Supervillain Reformation Programme', or face incarceration instead. Much to Muse A's disappointment, they are paired up with Muse B to be their hero 'mentor'. The partnership gets off to a bad start, and an even worse result during a training mission assessment. It's not until an explosive argument and an accidental discovery that the hero organisation has much darker plans than they're letting on that they finally begin to work together.
- Muse A is a ballet dancer, classical violinist that is a staunch rule follower and perfectionist. Muse B is a hip hop dancer, metal guitarist rebel that probably takes part in illegal street races at night. They are both in the same music class and as part of a project have to write and perform a duet together... which is unfortunately a major part of their grade. Muse A wants to maintain their excellent grades and Muse B has to ensure they get a good enough grade so they aren't kicked out of the university. Naturally, neither thinks this is a good idea, but they're stuck with each other. (As a bonus, maybe they're both in a contemporary dance class together and are also paired up for an assignment/dance in that?) Muse A learns it's okay to let loose sometimes, Muse B learns to be more grounded and that maybe someone really does (eventually) care for them.
2. Royalty
- A few ideas under this as well. Don't have to be humans, don't even have to both be royalty. And, flexible with setting - modern, medieval, fantasy, modern-fantasy - whatever makes us inspired!
- Classic trope, the betrothal. Perhaps our characters are betrothed to one another, or betrothed to other people but end up developing a relationship themselves (or the angst of not being able to, if one is a knight/noble, perhaps?). Maybe they don't get along - perhaps even outright dislike one another - at first, amplified by the fact that they're betrothed. Or, perhaps one is the epitome of a 'perfect prince/princess', a rule follower and elegant, while the other is known to be more rebellious, outspoken and frequently sneaks out - which would be a really fun dynamic to play with.
- An extension of the above betrothal plot, but a different take. Royal and a pirate. Perhaps they were secretly friends, had a relationship before the king discovered his son/daughter with a pirate, and exiled/forced the pirate from the kingdom. Years later, the pirate receives word that their former friend/flame is betrothed to another, and decides to risk returning to the kingdom they were sent from, for better or for worse. Again, we can play around with this - a runaway just before the wedding/engagement announcement? A fake kidnapping? A dramatic burst in during the ceremony?
3. Time Travellers/Agents
- Time Agents work for an agency that ensure time travellers don't alter or change the past irreparably. Around certain historical events, 'time bubbles' are set up so that anyone who attempts to travel into that moment - certainly without prior authorisation - are transported into a white space, to be apprehended by Time Agents. Perhaps this could be between a Time Traveller and a Time Agent that keep meeting because the Time Traveller consistently ignores instructions and getting themselves trapped in the time bubbles, and is able to reason themselves out of serious trouble and aren't stripped of their time travel privileges and sent back to their own time. And perhaps the Time Agent starts to expect - and look forward to - seeing the Time Traveller, even if frequently in the time bubble situations. Perhaps they also discover that there's someone trying to unravel the timeline and disrupt events, so the two end up working together to try and stop the antagonist.
- Alternatively, based on that one Tumblr post, a time traveller and a seamstress working for the Time Agency. This particular seamstress always gets assigned to making a time-period-accurate outfit for one particular time traveller (because they secretly always request that particular seamstress). A similar thing to above - maybe the seamstress gets dragged along for a time adventure to help stop the antagonist because they're the only one who'll believe the time traveller that something is wrong.
So, what am I looking for in a RP partner?
- An adult. I will not rp with minors.
- Can write a fair paragraph or two - massively long responses aren't needed, but at least something that can be replied to (200-500 words on average?).
- Willing to discuss ideas/plot points.
- Somewhat active! At least a once or twice a week would be great, more even better!
- Good with mxm, fxf, nbxany pairings.
- Have ideas and suggestions of your own. I don't want to be the sole decision maker, and the only one coming up with ideas for the roleplay.
And as for me:
- Am adult.
- Will match what you write (or try to!), I can often write about 200-500 words, I'd really like to get into writing quite a lot more (but I'm okay with a lower word count too, sometimes there'll just be times where we don't need to write a lot, and also we don't want any burn out from feeling like we need to write a huge amount).
- Prefer mxm, fxf, nbxany. I'm willing to do a mxf pairing, if we double up and also do a mxm, fxf or nbxany pairing as well.
- In GMT/BST timezone.
- Usually active, will try and post at least once or twice a week (although I do occasionally have times where I'll be offline for a few days to a week, if my schedule gets busy).
- Thread/Forum roleplay is preferred, but if you'd really prefer Discord, then I will ask that you set up the server.
- Have lots of roleplay ideas, and always up to discuss them!
