Plot

Tensions have been high between the two clans due to feuds over the Sunning Stones. They lie in Dawnclan territory, but now in leafbare the river has dried up, and Lightclan continues to try and lay claim to them for the rich prey in the cold seasons. Less than a moon ago, the battle sparked by Mousefang's death happened in the Dawnclan camp. Cats from both clans died, and the Lightclan deputy went missing during the battle. Tomorrow night is the gathering, where tensions will be high and cats from both sides will be demanding answers. Dawnclan thinks that Lightclan attacked them unprovoked, while Lightclan believes that Dawnclan are murderers who killed Mousefang and maybe their deputy in cold blood. Every clan cat thinks the other clan is at fault, and many are beyond listening to the other side's version of events. Starclan has been strangely silent in regards to the battle, and both clans are near their breaking points.

Here are the mentors and apprentices for both clans, if you want to change who your character is paired with or notice any errors please let me know! No one should have their warrior character paired with their own apprentice character. These will be going up on the Allegiances page as well.

I think Sunstar would be lucky to have Cedarstripe as a friend! It would be fun to have them reminisce about simpler times when they’re main worry was who would win at moss ball
(I’m so relieved she has two good friends to keep her grounded, with all that’s happening in the rp I have a feeling she is going to need them!)

As for Swanpaw and Sprigpaw I would love to see what kind of mischief they could cause as a dynamic duo! I like your idea that they met a while ago during one of Swanpaw’s trespassing adventures and became good friends.
I was thinking it might be fun if they started their own investigation into Mousefang’s death? If Sprigpaw told Swanpaw it wasn’t Danwclan she would be willing to believe her but would want to find proof to show her clan. Her imagination would probably start making crazy theory’s like it was evil rouges trying to steal their territory’s by pitting the clans against eachother, or a secret kitty pet ex lover come to take their revenge on Mousefang for spurning them, ect. They would probably be very off the mark but it could be fun. But if you don’t like the idea then that’s completely fine, I’m just spitballing here!

Haha ok, so earlier today I was reading Gentianstep’s form and thinking to myself, “oh no, Thistledown’s going to like him…” This definitely won’t end well but I’d love to see where it goes in the time they have!Would it be ok if Thistledown returned his little crush? Maybe Thistle used to shadow him around and would ask to go hunting together, but he would have stopped and started avoiding Gentianstep after he was made deputy to avoid getting in his way.

@Keesa, @Firelight_AA, @selasphorys - Spirepaw would really disapprove of his sister and fellow apprentices spending time with a Lightclan cat. He has been suspicious of Swanpaw for a long while, even if he had no clear evidence of her trespassing, and he may try to hunt down the other apprentices if they start sneaking around together. Maybe he could be a threat to Swan, Sprig, Sky, and Light?

@greatwoman - Flutter would struggle with the authority and responsibility of a mentor. The young warrior is used to following others, not being followed. She isn't sure enough of herself to teach Amberpaw the skills she needs. At least the two of them would be a cheerful pair with similar values? What kind of relationship do you think they would have as mentor and apprentice?

@ienrir - Could Whitewillow be Flutterdrift's former mentor? He may have taught her his priorities of obedience and code. Flutter would have been very unsure of herself with an apathetic and disapproving mentor like him. Always eager to please, she would react to his coldness with her endless warmth. Now that she is a mentor too, she would look up to him as a good example. What do you think?

I'm glad you're onboard with these relation ideas! Excited to see them all in action. I think it would be fun for Sprig and Swan to start coming up with hare-brained theories as they investigate Mousefang's death. Though Sprigpaw would be hurt after Lightclan's recent attack, she would be more forgiving once she hears about Mousefang's murder. They would probably trespass on both territories looking for proof, maybe even explore beyond the territories if they are able. They might find the truth about Grassheart's disappearance in the process.

As for Gentian and Thistle, well... it's sweet and sad how things will end up for the two of them. I'd love for them both to have a crush on each other. Gentianstep has only become deputy about a moon ago, so he's still unused to the new distance between him and Thistle. He would miss Thistle's gentle presence when they hunted together. I can definitely see some mutual pining and mutual walls going up between them. Maybe they could get closer with time, before the inevitable end.

I'd love to have Sprigpaw talk the brothers into joining her and Swanpaw! Since Flameflurry is Sprigpaw's mentor, I'm sure she will be spending a lot of time with Sky and Light. Although with Spirepaw around, the large group of apprentices might get noticed eventually...
What kind of mentor would Flameflurry be to Sprigpaw?

I didn't see that Flame was a mentor and had to take a second look
Umm I think he'd be a pretty good one. supportive, would make sure they got his lessons memorized and made sure they have the lessons committed to their memory.

@TheClockmaker: I think Flutter and Amberpaw get along pretty well, like you said. I think Flutter was given Amber as her first apprentice because Amber is calmer and less likely to be trouble than the other apprentices and Sunstar thought she would be a good confidence builder for Flutter. I think they've bonded pretty well and Amber respects Flutter and follows orders pretty well, and when Flutter gets unsure about things she's doing as a mentor maybe she goes to the older warriors like Bumblefoot and Cedarstripe for advice.

@everyone: I'm so glad to see all these relationships forming! This is going to be fun! I'm working on my opening post in the Roleplay Thread now!

dark brown tabby with white muzzle, amber eyes. larger ears than normal.

personality:
despite harbouring a slightly unfriendly look on her face all the time, kestrelpaw is actually very kind at heart. she loves chatting with her loved ones, and usually shows care by helping them in any capacity. she is very devoted to becoming a good medicine cat, and will work as hard as she can. this also leads to her asking many questions and clarifications that may appear to be pesky or annoying at times. given her young age, there is still a lot she needs to learn in terms of being empathetic and navigating nuanced social situations.

history:
to be added on! kestrelpaw was born in the clan, to warrior parents who similarly wished for her to become a warrior. however, it was soon discovered that she has a mild hearing impairment, and cannot hear soft sounds. perhaps to make up for this, she has better sense of smell than most other cats - as a kit, she escaped the nursery into the medicine cat den quite a few times due to the scents that intrigued her. even though her parents negotiated persistently with sunstar for a chance for kestrelpaw to become a warrior apprentice, she decided to embark on the medicine cat path instead. her rationale for doing so was that although she may not be the most suited to fight alongside her parents and the rest of the clan, she would be waiting for them to come home and heal them so they can continue fighting for the clan.
