Quite differently from what you'd expect for a medic, Blyth is harsh and distant, preferring to do his job without emotion, then spend his free time alone, usually running or hiking around the pack's territory. Despite his bluntness, he has a sense of humour, however dry, and is easily wound up by silly arguments, though he generally doesn't take these personally. A curious person, somtimes to an unhealthy degree, Blyth often- mostly metaphorically- runs headfirst into new things to try and figure them out, and can't stand not knowing something.

Though Blyth was always quiet and caustic, his sheer refusal to get along with others, and endless hunger for knowledge are both traits that developed more recently. He didn't work well during his training as medic, often shirking his duties and ignoring directions, so when his mentor's life was put in his hands, he ultimately couldn't save them. For a period afterward, all he would do is pour over their old research, triple-checking he knew all he could, so he could be better prepared for the next time.
