Since Ezra's going to try and prove that there's no truth to the rumors and it's just an abandoned Fairground, I can imagine him overhearing someone talking about them [the rumors] and just inserting himself into that conversation - if that's something anyone has any ideas to go off from!

Full Name: Makoto Hotaru
Nickname: 'Mori', usually teasingly. He only allows it if he's close to someone.
Age: Appears in his mid twenties, is a couple decades older
Gender: Male
Pronouns: He/him
Sexuality: Panromantic Asexual
Species: Psychopomp - Can interact and communicate directly with recently deceased souls, or any soul he has personally collected. He holds them in a special lantern usually hovering nearby that he can make appear and disappear at will, but generally keeps an 'open door' policy, so to speak, so long as the spirits don't cause serious problems while out and about. Spirits held by him can extinguish if out for too long, but he can always sense where they are and how weak they are -- getting to them quickly for a timely rescue.
Stall/Act: Hotaru manages a haunted house, employing spirits that cannot, or will not, move on. Once they are ready to go he carries out his job and assists them in passing on.
Height: 5'2

Personality: Quiet unless prompted, Hotaru looks a lot more sullen and serious than he actually is. That's just his face. He often jokes around with the spirits under his employ and if you can scratch the surface of of his usual cold appearance he'll joke with you too. Otherwise he has a rather deadpan sense of humor and will sass just about anyone which can make it a bit difficult to actually tell hes joking at a glance. He can be a little bit of a trickster, but never to the point of anyone getting hurt. Despite being tied to 'death' he is very passive and calm and absolutely never violent in any situation. Some of the spirits he'd had with him the longest, the ones who refuse to move on, tend to be highly protective of him if something goes wrong however and when working together they can be dangerous -- sapping the lifeforce of those around them to become strong enough to protect him, something he dislikes as doing this too much can corrupt their souls and turn them into mindless monsters that have to be put down and purified.

Short Bio: Hotaru was human once, though he never speaks of this. He was a very sickly boy, growing into a sickly teenager, then a barely healthy young adult. Then he relapsed, and lost his life. Someone, or something, took pity on him, because he woke up as.. this. Still looking human for all intents and purposes, but very much not so.

Other: When not actively trying to manifest, his spirits look like small clusters of butterflies -- their colors vary depending on the personality of the soul. His haunted house is considered his 'domain', which allows spirits within to manifest using his strength instead of their own usually meager energy. Enabling them to play the parts of actors and tech crews.

Nickname: Lee or Leo on occasions, but he never seems especially thrilled by it

Personality: Leon definitely isn't one to shy from the spotlight, seemingly thriving off attention. He has a natural type of charm that when combined with his looks has a habit of drawing people to him, and his inclination to flirt with those around him certainly doesn't help. Despite whatever reputation this may leave him with Leon nonetheless never has bad intentions and never actively wants to hurt or upset anyone. Between his high empathy towards the situations of others and a talent for reading the emotions of a room he will often go out of his way to help those around him and tends to be drawn to and very protective of those with high anxiety or other similarly debilitating mental or social problems -- even if he sometimes tries to act like he doesn't. Due to being incredibly laid back most of the time, it may not always be obvious that he is actually highly intelligent. Certainly some of his decisions don't show it.
Though not immediately obvious at any point, Leon has a very strong -- but internalized -- fear of being hated and abandoned, and dislikes being alone for any extended periods of time.

Short Bio: Of mixed descent, his mother was an heiress to a huge estate and his father was a broke college student she happened to meet by chance. The product was him, his mother and her family despising him for now being their heir and his father not even knowing he existed. For a while he tried to be the perfect son, to live up to any expectations given to him even if he was never good enough for them, and by the time his younger sister was born when he was fifteen he gave up as he was fully shoved out of the way. By the time he was sixteen, his mother was basically paying him massive amounts of money to live as far away as possible and act as if he didn't know her or her family. So he did. Eventually he even found his father, taking his last name instead and legally changing his first name from 'Lowell' to Leon.
He's currently in college, working towards becoming a therapist to help those dealing with similar trauma he had growing up.

Other: He ends up at the fairgrounds just because it seemed like it might be fun.

Sorry everyone, I've been really busy the past week! I've got a few days free now though, so I should be more active!

First, accepted! Excited to see another joiner!
Secondly, that's a great idea @javitaxy, one of those people could probably be Ezra, who makes it clear that he thinks the rumors are absolute nonsense. And then, I guess, more people gradually hear about it and decide that they want to go along as well for whatever reason they have.

Once most of us are in agreement, I'll start the roleplay!
