The only child of two scientists, his high class family was very
quick to show distain at his interests. Keeping his head down
proved to be much easier than having to deal with being noticed.
Despite this, the influence of his parents' pokemon research
strongly through his life. Encouraged by being able to work well
with dragon-types (his first pokemon was a Deino, who is still his
main partner through evolutions) he strove to be a strong battler.

Being made a gym leader was somewhat of a surprise. He absolutly
loves dragon types, and has an extremely deep well of knowledge of
the type and the various dragon pokemon. In particular, he knows all
the best places to go observe legendary dragon types, but isn't much
of a fan of the idea of catching legendaries (he'd rather they roam
free!) which is obvious with his relationship with his friend Reshiram.

The personification of that "looks like a cinnamon roll, could kill you" meme.
Steph's looks and personality don't exactly scream "Team Nocturnia Member".

Generally very mellow, prone to tuning out and wandering off. Steph is often
found making flower crowns for her pokemon (none of whom she seems able
to make stay in their pokeballs, often one will just randomly come out and
demand snacks) or curled up under as many blankets/coats/etc as possible
with her Glaceon because she's always freezing. Is trying to warm up
with a Glaceon self-sabatouge? No one is really sure.

A fierce trainer, no one is 100% sure where she came from. Supposedly, she
was born the same day "Darling" hatched, and they grew up together as per
her family's tradition. It's unlikely that her prized Eevee-lution has ever had
to walk more than five steps in his life, as she carries him everywhere.

Off the ring she may be blithe and sociable, but there's no doubting her skill as
an ice-type trainer. She pushes for a strong offensive strategy, but is never
distracted enough to forget to mind her defensive stances.

Deeply admires the drive of her teammate's ambitions. Personally, she'd just like
someone to hold her hand and help her evolve Amaura, thanks. If she helps start
chaos, it's a bonus. That being said, she's probably the best member of the team
for intel gathering, as she's often overlooked and is able to blend/disappear into
a crowd with ease. Also great at snatching pokeballs out of pockets/bags.

@ M e l t i n q: I definitely second the idea of having a limit to how long battles can run, though it may be hard to decide on a hard limit since the battles will vary in difficulty (i.e. Svein's 3v3s should be shorter than a full 6v6 of course!). Maybe we should just leave it up to your judgment on what you think is fair, and you can just post here or PM the battling RPers in question if they are taking too long? It could also be based on real time instead of posts, since it is ridiculous to have an rp battle last longer than... idk, a real life week or so, depending on how busy the rpers are.

@smilepup: hope you don't mind me answering, since I'm pretty sure M e l t i n q is offline now (timezones do be like that lol)! But as far as I know (and this goes for anyone interested in joining), the RP is still open for gym leaders and Team Nocturnia members, just not any more trainers for the reasons she described before.
By my notes, and someone feel free to jump in if I'm wrong, we still have 3 gym leader positions open (fighting, ice may be reserved, and steel) as well as 3 Nocturnia members open (Flareon user, Jolteon user, Leafeon user). (: If all those fill up, I imagine M e l t i n q may open slots for the Elite Four as well.

Not sure if my opinion counts for anything much yet, since I've only just put up forms today, but I like the idea of limiting battles to a time/post amount of some sort. I've for sure been in rps where the battles dragged on so long in terms of irl time that we just... got stuck.

For what it's worth as far as battle outcomes and gym trials, I've set it up so that both my trainer (Shinobu) and my gym leader (Tsubasa) are not what we'd call... conventionally talented, lol. I'm happy for Shinobu to go down easy to allow others to advance (he's along for the ride, not the glory).

As for Tsubasa--and more importantly, his gym--I'm more than happy to set him up for both gym battles and for a "badge challenge" (as it were). He's big on wild pokemon preservation, so that opens up a pretty wide venue of options for a challenge of some sort (or, I think someone mentioned Erika and how she gave out the badge as a thank you for an assist? That would fit into Tsu's character as well). Although I'd love to coordinate with others who are doing gym leaders so I'm not stepping on anyone's toes and we aren't risking repetiveness.

@quetzaloe: no worries, and your opinion is totally valid! I was just making a late reply to a post M e l t i n q had made on the previous page. I don't think any other gym challenges have been decided (yet?) so whatever you're thinking for Tsubasa probably works.
Also, I hope you don't mind my saying so but I love your characters! Tsubasa's faceclaim is so cute and I love the image of him shrinking away at a small Pokemon and Steph carrying Glaceon around everywhere xD. I also like how Shinobu is not conventionally talented and I think he and my boy Dio could probably become friends eventually, if that's okay with you? I can definitely see Dio trying to teach Shinobu to be a better trainer and if anyone ever makes fun of Shinobu for being inexperienced, he would probably jump in like "hey hey hEY you're not making fun of my boi Shinobu, are you? >_>"

I left Niklaus in Saltrush City (since I figured not every trainer should be in the forest at once) but I could see him and Chiharu striking up a friendship! I think it'd be funny to see the contrast between bubbly Chiharu and quiet giant Niklaus it reminds me of a silent bodyguard type of friendship lol.

Also I can't speak for the other gym leader rpers, but I'd be down for Tsubasa's gym to pull an Erika wherein maybe Team Nocturnia tries... idk, kidnapping some of the Pokemon in his preserve? Idk, something like that, and then he rewards trainers who help fend them off with a badge. Not sure what Nocturnia's endgame is and if that fits into it (tho tbf who would turn down some powerful Dragon-types--), but just putting it out there.

These wholesome ideas would be so brilliant! I feel like it would allow the pair to grow as a person too, understanding each other’s perspectives and how they feel about certain things.

I also adore that idea! It could bring a lot of people together and forge some bonds.
