Well hey, even just the basics are better than "Alright, we have a brown tabby, a pure white cat, and four kits... fifty fifty, two are brown tabbies and two are white."
I do think that cat genetics would be fun to learn though, I like researching things. For research, do you just look at random articles or have specific sites?

i mostly just use a select few sites. one, mainly, and another as a sort of backup. if all else fails then i resort to googling and trying to figure it out that way.

as i said, i can give you these sites via pm if you like! or you can just ask me other questions about it through pm because we should probably stick to just roleplay stuff on here
(i don't think talking about the outcomes of a pairing, like sunsmoke asked me to do for foxsnap and emberdream, would count as spam but just plain genetics talk that isn't quite related to any characters specifically might be spam)

okay, so i'm planning on making silkpelt's sister [finally] since i said i would make her a long time ago. she's most likely gonna join the clan and leave the kittypet life


i might make her a queen, but i'll see once the current litters are decided and whatnot; don't wanna overfill the nursery



i'm thinking of naming her juniper? she's gonna be a brown tabby like silverleaf and silkpelt

this might not be 100% accurate especially because brown cats are kind of my weak point. for some reason, they confuse me more than other colors.

all kittens would have tabby markings and all would have short coats but carry the gene for long coats. i also do not think brown would show up in any of them but they would carry the gene for chocolate coats
boys would be black. they would still have tabby markings but you wouldn't actually be able to see them.
girls would be tortoiseshells. or 'torbies' because of tabby markings i guess
i can't quite tell if emberdream falls in the dilute category. if he does then all kits would carry (but not show!) the gene for dilution
