There are two types of blood moons. Ones caused by a full eclipse and ones caused by atmosphere, also called Hunter's Moons. During a full lunar eclipse as the earth blocks the moon all the sunrises and sunsets in the planet reflect on the surface of the moon, making it appear red. Then during the fall, there's a thing called the Hunter's Moon (also referred to as a blood moon) where the moon begins to rise as the sun sets, so as the sun is setting the moon is low in the sky. This puts the atmosphere between you and the moon, giving it the illusion that it appears red.

So yes, it was a true blood moon, as a blood moon can be either a full lunar eclipse or a Hunter's moon. :3

Yeah... Space is really cool, yet I still want to become a engineer... Also I remember watching a solar eclipse when I was little and there was another lunar eclipse, but it was cloudy that day... So I have seen one solar and one lunar now

Sometimes if you watch the moon rise it looks orange because of all the dust and other particles in the atmosphere

PFT! I will gladly take your writers block then xD What i just posted was a bit longer than what i normally do but not by much ;-; i wish 2 paragraphs were normal for me but for that i would have to be swimming with muse and/or interest in what I'm typing
