He can't use them even though he's a scale descendant? Still confused, bc Brinder was one and could use his ring for his illness (or whatever it was...). Well, will take out the ring probably. Do scale descendants just have dragon blood bc they're descended from dragons? They're meant to have it, right?

They have dragon blood from being descended from dragons, but that would be included with the magic traits from the dragon (in your case, water magic). That would mean if they had dragon blood from another dragon, they couldn’t use it though. And I thought Jezzabel was the one with the ring? If your previous scale descendant used the ring, then that was a mistake on my part ^^’

The deal with scale descendants is that they are only able to use magic from their own blood, however the effects are much stronger than if a normal human drank the blood of a dragon with that ability. In the same way, while normal humans can use other magic, the scale descendant’s own elemental blood overpowers that of any that is in a magic item or other dragon blood that a scale descendant drank.

This is the same reason why dragons, even in Titan dragons in human form, are unable to use other kinds of magic as well. The only exception to this rule is spellbooks, which are created after a sorcerer has devoted their life to them. Because of the nature of the spellbooks they are incredibly rare but can be used by dragons, humans, and scale descendants because the magic flows through the book, only using any dragon blood as a sort of key to unlock the magic.

Brief personality traits: Not nearly as cruel or crude as Adam, Alex prefers the more subtle approach. Very playful and sarcastic, but if hes pushed he becomes a whole different kind of cruel.

Likes: Adam, being high in the air, playing games, the freedom of the open sea

Dislikes: being confined, rain, any kind of storm really

Abilities: Has become very skilled with swords over the years. He is also a very skilled pickpocket and very agile from years of climbing on the ship. Hes very skilled at dice/card games.

Strengths: cheating at said dice/card games, lying climbing, very charismatic

Weaknesses: too dependent on Adam
