I will apologize for my absence this weekend, though. I have a college entry exam tomorrow, Friday I'm taking our new kitten to the vet's office, and Saturday I have a horse show ^^

i should probably let you guys know that i'm actually moving to uni this week so things are a bit hectic. hopefully i won't be absent much but next week is freshers so i'll probably be pretty busy.

Pros and Cons:
+ If she can write a spell for it, she can do it.
- Not all of her spells work the way she intends, at least half the time she
tries a spell she's written herself it backfires, or results in some kind of
destruction.
+ She can conjure anything she wants, inanimate or animate
- The bigger the thing is that she wants to conjure, the more energy
and power is takes. She can have nose bleeds, can pass out, vomit, be
unable to access any of her abilities for a short while, or possible die if
she conjures something too big.
+ She has shortened some of her own spells to a single word (like a
fireball spell or healing a small wound etc) and cast them before
someone notices that she's even casting.
- When she gets angry she has a harder time controlling herself
and uses her much more violent spells without really thinking of the
consequences.

Ever since Ava was 10 she knew she was different
than everyone else. Her parents had known it too,
being witches themselves. They tried to prepare her
for what was to come, how to use her powers for
good and how to hide them when she got angry.
The problem was, Ava never wanted to hide them,
or use them for good. She dove into dark magic;
voodoo, hexes, curses, stuff used for personal gain.
As a result she opened a door to a whole new part of
her powers that she had never anticipated. Her
powers grew stronger, more advanced, and she
developedb telekinesis. She's been able to cast spells
without needing to set up a whole ritual, something
that (according to her parents) witches haven't been
able to do since the dark ages.

For a long time she used these powers for personal
gain; get the best marks in school by using voodoo
on her teacher, writing her own spells to get the
best clothes. She's even used a spell to conjure
money before, has cursed/hexed at least three
dozen people including an ex-boyfriend to crash
the car that he had "loved more than her".

She met Cap a few years before the Civil War, and
he had saved her during a particularly bad spell;
she forgets exactly what she had been trying to do
but it had blown up and she passed out while the
building burned. He got her out and they stayed in
touch, and he helped bring her to a place where she
wasn't using her magic as agressively as she had been
before. She's by no means a superhero, she will still
do what needs to be done to ensure that she and she
alone survives, but at least she's not cursing the
waitress who just messed up her burger anymore. The
temptation is still there, she describes it as a voice,
almost like another person, inside her head urging her
to use her powers for bad. She's sure there probably is
some kind of creature attached to her, feeding off the
negative energy she gives off when using her magic;
after all she did spend the majority of her life using
dark magic not light magic.

Also when I saw the title of this, it reminded me of the old movie, Dead Poet's Society, with Robin Williams. They always said to him, "Oh captain my captain" I loved that movie, anyone recognize?
