Let me think of something...
Idea dump!-
-Humans come and "kidnap" some of the wolves. Their loves have to find them.
-Several wolves who hate each other are forced to go on a journey together, to try and do something of importance to the pack
-An evil pack is attempting to drive them out. Openings for forbidden romance
-If pups were in play, there could be some pups who have "strong influence" from parents to go for one wolf, while they fall in love with another
-(as Fatal suggested) catastrophe!
