Yeah he does change. His outfit, hair and a few other things changed over the time

If you're into darker animes, I would recommend Another. I just started watching it and it sorta reminds me of Shiki. However, it is pretty graphic so don't watch it if you don't handle blood and gore well.

Basically it's about a class that seems to have curse where there's an extra (dead) student, this will make sense if you watch it. If that happens a calamity will begin and either a student or someone related to the student (parents, grandparents or siblings) will die every month. Like I said, all the deaths are really graphic so please don't watch it if you hate that sort of stuff.
