Flamepool wrote:Image/Description:
Ruffled, flame colored pelt (from where she received her name), ice blue eyes like deep pools of water , a little bit of her right ear is missing forming a little V no one knows how she received it except for Flamepool herself the only thing her clan mates know is that suddenly one day Flamepool woke up and had this scar.
Name:
Flamepool (Flamekit/Flamepaw also she had been mocked with the name Flamemist *read important notes for why*)
Gender:
She-cat
Clan:
Thunderclan
Rank:
Warrior
Personality/Skills:
Flamepool is a very patient cat, she is very shy and later tended to keep to herself giving her a mysterious appearance. She had started off as a medicine cat apprentice and was very talented indeed but the fact that she could never have a mate and kits made her quit and train as a warrior instead. She never got her mate or at least none anyone knew the name of but she did have 1 litter of kits. In the end Flamepool was a very loyal cat and died saving Thunderclans newest litter of kits at that time even though she was doubted by her clanmates and herself. Her love for kits always stayed with her.
Important Notes:
Flamepool did not receive her name from the fact that her eyes were like deep pools of water, she earned her name form her traits.
She had started acting mysterious only after she received her warrior name and cats mocked her because she was being so mysterious calling her by the name Flamemist since that would have fit her at that time but when she was given her warrior name she had always been quiet, shy and patient but not mysterious until later.
Sorry for the wait! I'll get this taken care of now.
Name Rating: 4/10
Name Type: Lyrical (tbh, it sounds pretty cool)
Name Reasoning: Remind me to put -pool up on the common names, because I do get this enough. I'll quickly rehash for you why -pool is unaccepted. The reason is that pools come in many shapes, sizes, and colors, and not all of them are similar. You can have a brown, muddy pool with thousands of frogs, you can have a blue pool that hides how deep it really is, you can have a green, plant-infested pool with fish constantly splashing around the surface. Pools do not have a fixed state; metaphorically, they do, but rarely are names metaphorical in traditional (the exceptions being -heart, -storm, -cloud, and -paw, and even then those can be pretty literal, so there you go).
Meanwhile, most would argue that Flame- is an acceptable name since it conveys the same thing as Fire-, but I don't agree for that specific reason. Cats have a set idea of what a fire is; a flame is merely part of a fire, so there's no real need for it.
Alternative Name: Firecloud. Fire- instead of Flame-, and -cloud for her quiet and pleasant personality.
Character Rating: 7/10
Character Reasoning: I think that her aloofness could be seen as trying to be mysterious, and that would probably help her keep the father of her kits under wraps, so I don't think I have a real problem with that. I don't really know why she would be acting this way when she becomes a warrior, though, and I don't think she should be called anything other than her real name (misnaming a cat is pretty disrespectful). It sounds like she has a little hint of disregard for the rules (I have a character like that myself, haha), so I would add that in.
