hqmary wrote:Image/Description: Sunny is a light orange tabby cat, with yellow eyes and white feet, underbelly, and muzzle.
Name: Sunny/Sunstorm
Gender: Female
Clan: Cloudclan
Rank: Rouge
Personality/Skills: Sunny has a deep hate for another cat, Lilyheart. Her hate has driven her to become mates with Lilyheart's tormentor, Damon. She has also attacked Lilyheart, tried to poison her, and led her to Damon to be killed. Eventually, she was exiled from Cloudclan when she stole Lilyheart's only kit and started a battle between Cloudclan and Damon's band of loners. She's a relatively good hunter, so she managed to support herself. She can climb well, and often spy's on the camp from the trees.
Important Notes:
Cloudclan is in first generation, barely breaking through the second. All the cats used to be loners/kittypets.

Name Type: Lyrical
Name Reasoning: I'm really unsure of how to judge this name exactly. The context of it makes sense, but I just can't see a Clan that uses Moon- or Sun- as a name. But given that this Clan is literally brand new, it could be excusable, and yet...
Sigh. I'll let it slide, but I'm compelled to toss out at least one traditional name.
Alternate Name: Goldenpelt/Morningfur (suffixes interchangeable). Both prefixes describe a golden colored cat, and as she doesn't have a high skill that's nameable, she receives the default suffixes.

Character Assessment: I just...this cat is genuinely fuddling. I am fuddled. You have fuddled me.
Man that sounds weird.
I mean, on the one hand, a cat like her would never be given a chance to exist within a Clan, especially with everything she does (and for what reason, I have no idea). But this Clan literally just got started, so if ever a malicious cat were to be a warrior, it would be now, and it's likely that the leader wouldn't have the experience to know what to do with her.
I...have no idea what to do with her. I actually don't.

mint tea lady wrote:Hi Arcaii. The villainous -cloud will have to wait. I have a bit of trouble describing his personality, he was an outright -cloud when he was young, but stress, age and later paranoia changed him a lot.

Meanwhile, I am sending in the main characters of 'Fog over the Firs'. Neat name, I think. It is a concept of a fan-fiction [I may write it after The Greenleaf Rain [[Dusk and Dawn's new name]] or make it into a CYOA]. The story is about FirClan and FogClan, hence the title. The Clans live up in the mountains [I don't know where yet], FirClan territory is mainly a fir forest halfway up, with a pond and a few caverns and/or a waterfall, I'm thinking. The Firs [nickname for FirClan warriors] know very little about their mysterious neighbors. FogClan lives much higher up the mountain, and fog shrouds their hunting grounds. Spies have been sent but they always came back after a few sunrises, saying they got lost in the mist for a while and found nothing. One day, a Foggy [FogClan warrior] turns up and politely asks FirClan if she can stay for a few moons. That's what I have, I only need a proper plot now.

Description: Moderately pretty molly with short, bristly, gingerish-brown fur, pointed ears and orange eyes, described as 'lanky' by others.
Name: Minknose.
Gender: Molly.
Clan: Proud Fir.
Rank: Warrior.
Personality/Skills: Minky [what everyone calls her] is always alert. She notices even the smallest details and registers them. Her excellent memory helps her. Minky remembers the insignificant things she observes, believing that one sunrise she will find them helpful whilst answering a question or solving a puzzle. Surprisingly, Minky is an impatient cat. She has keen senses, yes, but she is an impulsive warrior, often not thinking beforehand, especially when saying something. That makes her rash, and she often wings it when it comes to taking action. She has a relatively short fuse and is easily ruffled on most occasions. Don't try sarcasm, she doesn't miss a single trick. Minky is an adventurous and venturesome cat at heart, often looking for new anomalies to investigate. She is a bit of a hoyden or tomboy, acting like a daredevil, and exploring far beyond her territory. Her biggest desire is to be the first to discover more about the mysterious, virtually invisible Foggy warriors.
Important Notes: Nope!

Description: Slightly built warrior with short mackerel tabby fur, brown-grey, with amber eyes.
Name: Jayfur.
Gender: Molly.
Clan: Foggy, temporary Fir.
Rank: Warrior.
Personality: Jayfur is a very quiet cat, with a hoarse, gravelly voice she doesn't use often. Jay is diligent, but unuttered as she works. She is not antisocial, she appears to be warm towards her adopted Clan, listening to their tales of battles and 'I got this scar here...' intently. Jay has an exceptionally strong belief in Starry Spirits [StarClan, everything has a nickname] and often 'meditates', clearing her mind and 'walking with the spirits'. Nobody knows what to think of it, she is a secretive Foggy after all. Jay has a hunch when it comes to predicting the weather that the medicine cat finds useful. When she speak she makes her point clear, in a polite and levelheaded way. She prefers to think the consequences of a decision through, if she has the option and time. Jay is afraid of lightning, and prefers to sleep storms through in her den.
Important Notes: Jay is a naturally quiet and coy cat. I don't have a tragic backstory up my sleeve, no worries!

Thanks [in advance]!

Ooh! I look forward to both the story and the -cloud cat.

Minknose
Name Type: Traditional
Name Reasoning: Minky... that is a cute nickname, omg.
Anyway, her name fits her perfectly (and sounds adorable, even without the nickname).
Alternate Name: None!

Character Assessment: There's a group of people within this thread that always send me the best characters. I won't specifically give out the entire list, but you are definitely part of that group.
What an absolutely charming cat! She sounds like the perfect protagonist for a Nancy Drew-esque story about mysterious Clans and territories. I'd definitely read that.
Character Suggestions: None!

Jayfur
Name Type: Traditional
Name Reasoning: Again, a stellar name. Perhaps not as adorable as Minknose, but what can really top that?
Alternate Name: None!

Character Assessment: The Mysterious Waif in a warriors plot is definitely interesting. Do alert me to when the story comes out, because I would love to read about these two.
Character Suggestions: None!

meet heronfoot, the intelligent and quick-witted deputy of cedarclan. she is at the
young age of 31 moons, or a little over two and a half years old. she is a very relaxed

usually very organized, which makes her great in her position. she can plan battle
attacks and certain strategies for the clan to use should they ever come across
something dangerous. with her relaxed personality, heronfoot doesn't get offended
easily. if a cat is being rude or uncooperative with her, she still treats them like she would any of her clan-mates. while
the dominant side of her personality is almost always present, she does indeed have an "alter ego". this rarely comes out,
but when it does, she is snappy, hostile, uncaring, and blunt. it has only come out once before, so she doesn't know much
about it.

heronfoot is a slender white and grey patched she-cat with pale green eyes. she is slightly taller than the average she-cat,
but not by much. her lithe figure and short and sleek fur make her a better adversary for running, hunting, and quick att-
-acks, counter attacks, or dodges. she isn't exceptionally strong, so full-on fighting or climbing is definitely not her strong
suit. heronfoot is a pretty good swimmer; which is ironic because she hates the idea of getting soaking wet.

Name Type: Traditional
Name Reasoning: I don't have much to say! Her name is perfect for her.
Alternate Name: None!

Character Assessment: The only thing I'd question is the "alter ego" bit. I'm not exactly sure what that means or why it exists - I mean, it sounds like she just loses her patience occasionally. If you can give me a little more info on that, that'd be magic.
Character Suggestions: Just explain the alter ego thing so I can make a proper deliberation.

I'm honored. And to think that it all began with a -wind suffix and a cat who was so infirm that he reminded you to put a thing up the front page. Anyway, meet Waxcloud, and I may send in a few other characters of 'Fog over the Firs' tomorrow.

Description: Pale golden tom with amber eyes.
Name: Waxcloud.
Gender: Tom.
Clan: Wind [I'm actually thinking to set the story in an 'alternate timeline' where there was no Firestar, Tigerstar, Dark Forest, etc. and I may actually change the Clans names. I'm thinking Heather or GorseClan if I opt for that.]
Rank: Deputy.
Personality&Skills: Wax is a decent climber and tracker, but has no outstanding skills. When made a warrior, he was a bright, cheery fellow, who had a friendly and upbeat attitude. Wax wasn't very disturbed or worried about anything, acting calm in tight situations and often lifting his Clanmates' spirits. He was renowned for his soft-spoken, inspirational words and deeply caring nature. Wax was eventually appointed a deputy, at three years of age, not bad for a warrior. He didn't change much, always patiently giving others hope and confidence. When he reached four years of age and became a senior warrior, something snapped. He realized, it's only two or three years before he retired. Wax should have continued to diligently support his warriors, but he grew scared. Scared of failure, age, and gradually, death. Wax suddenly found himself very worried about everything. If he was to die one day, so would the rest of his Clan. So would all of Wind[Heather, Gorse]Clan, one sunrise. He has developed a paranoia, he saw mortal danger at each step. What did he do? Take each step with fear, fear and uncertainty. Wax stressed over even the smallest of things, noticed bad omens everywhere, and at the worst point, blamed himself for every little moderately unfortunate incident that happened in his Clan. He said to himself: 'I could/should have stopped this. Maybe I am too old. Maybe I can't be a deputy. I'm nothing but a mistake and failure' and it continued for a very long time. Everyone noticed Wax's breakdown, of course, but Wax was quite aggressive to anyone who dared ask 'What ruffled your fur?'. Batstar is wary about Wax's instability, and fears that he will have to exile his deputy by force. He has already been discussing this with his trusted warrior, Falconface. Since Wax snapped, Bat has been confiding in Falcon often, without Wax's knowledge.
Important Notes: Sorry for the very long description!

Oh, yeah, the good ol' days. Back when I barely had any sense of what I was doing and yet somehow convinced somma yas to stick around.

Name Type: Traditional
Name Reasoning: It's the wording on the first part that kinda troubles me. You note that he was bright and cheery, as well as quite upbeat. This is probably just my connotation of the words, but those three usually suggest that there's some form of energy, and -cloud cats are notable for the absolute lack of it. If you just meant that he was really positive but still low-key, then his name fits him perfectly (and because I know your writing a bit, I'll make the assumption that that was your intention).
Of course, given his neurotic-ism, I'd consider a rename as he ages, but depending on the story, he might not make it that long.
Alternate Name: None.

Character Assessment: He doesn't seem like too much of a villain, honestly, though he certainly has the start for one. I'm guessing once he actually starts aggro-ing people over his paranoia is when crap hits the fan. But, villain or not, he's an awesome character.
Seriously, alert me the second you're posting this stuff. Must read.
Character Suggestions: None!

I was thinking there would be times where she's less relaxed than other times, so if something happens to "burst her bubble" or push her buttons enough, she can snap to the other side. It can cause her to be all of those personality traits I listed, and her actions might not always be the best in this state. It wouldn't be anything too drastic like her killing a cat or something; she can just be stupid in a way (like sending a cat to do something she knows is not their strong suit)

Ahh...I wouldn't consider that an alter ego. Stress-mode, certainly, but perhaps not alter ego.

name ;; pearfur.
gender ;; she-cat.
clan ;; mehclan.
age range ;; 16 - 22 moons.
rank ;; warrior.
personality / skills ;; pear was a bubbly, mischievous optimistic apprentice who was, for the most part, serious about her training. she had no outstanding skills and so was given the prefix -fur. a nosy cat, pearfur generally knows everyone's business ; often with our their knowledge of her knowing. she's good at keeping secrets and is also skilled at lying, which often comes in handy because she knows most cats would not appreciate the fact she knows so much stuff she's has no business knowing. she is a bossy she-cat, she enjoys giving orders and the feeling it gives her, she has a flare for power. she has strong morals when it comes to the warrior code, in her own opinion there is a never a situation where it can be broken and any cat that does so should be given a punishment which fits the crime. she is very opinionated in her beliefs, particularly starclan. she finds non-believers or those with uncertain faith shocking and tries to push her views onto them.
she has a tendency to babble about everything and anything to fill a silence. for her, there simply is almost no such thing as comfortable silences. an impulsive cat, pearfur always manages to find trouble. as she matured from a somewhat shy apprentice who was afraid to speak out, she now has no problem in calling out if she thinks her leader is in the wrong. she is a source of optimism within her clan, trying to keep spirits up even in the most desperate of times.
pearfur was born in a time of peace between the clans ; no battles broke out until she was a newly-made warrior. in the battle - where she gained her notable torn ear - her mother was injured. despite the medicine cat's best efforts, her mother died when her wounds became infected. cats die, it's part of clan life. but it created a ripple affect in her naturally impulsive nature. any excuse to attack their rivals seemed like a good idea, no matter how small.

important notes ;; nothing of import really.

Sorry for the wait. I'll be gone for a day or two (I know, again?).

Name Type: Traditional
Name Reasoning: While she doesn't have any skills, her being very opinionated and moralistic (even if it does align with the code often) should be mentioned in her name.
Alternate Name: Pearheart/Plumheart. Just in case the double "ear" badgers you, there's an alternate suffix.

Character Assessment: First thing to note: That type of coloring (lynx/pointed) doesn't exist naturally in the wild. I'm almost positive I've been letting cats like that sneak by for some reason, but I want to let you know that this cat either needs to be an ex-kittypet or have very recent kittypet ancestry. Or you could just make her all white with non-blue eyes so she ain't deaf.
Anyway, that aside, I of course will give a very stern look at any cat who changes after a certain death, but I'll let it pass here, since you do recognize that it shouldn't have affected her so much and that the effect isn't that major.
Character Suggestions: Just change the coloring.
