As a note to everyone, I'm going to be gone for a few days! I might make a few posts here and there, but after this group of reviews, there won't be much activity here.

It has been forever since I got just a simple name review. Thank God, I missed the briefness of it.

Name Type: Canonical
Name Reasoning: -strike is up on the front page, but the basics of it are that I don't think it needs to be around. I've never been a fan of the idea of actions being part of a name (-run, -strike, -gaze), plus we have suffixes like -fang and -claw around, so why make duplicates?
Alternate Name: Lionclaw. As he's a skilled fighter, he receives the -claw suffix.

Name: Shadowfire
Gender: Tom
Clan: Fanclan
Rank: warrior
Personality/Skills: Shadowfire is a very stubborn, fiery tom with a very strict moral. He will follow the Warrior Code if it means killing his own mate,which causes some to think him evil, even though he's really a very good cat. He's ambitious, but humble in his own way, preferring to obey orders rather than grovel in any way. He is proud of his morals, though some cats think he should lay off and be a normal clan cat. He isn't one to hide his opinion, and usually wins his arguments with the sheer force of his argument. He'll bite off the head, in a manner of speaking, of any cat who opposes his morals, and the apprentices don't really like him because of his strict rules. He's a very good fighter, if not the best hunter(partly because his pelt stands out a lot in the green of the forest).

Name Reasoning: Oh, these charcoal tabbies, so hard to name...
Anyway. While his prefix does mean a black cat, I think he should have one that specifically adds in the lighter markings. Those are extremely noticeable, and besides, Shadow- is better used on a pure black cat.
I can guess that -fire refers to his "fiery" personality, but he's such a moralistic cat, there's one suffix that would do much better - unfortunately, he's quite skilled, so well have to use a different one. Besides, -fire doesn't exactly have the best connotations.
Alternate Name: Swiftclaw/Dipperclaw. Both prefixes describe a black cat with markings, and -claw denotes his fighting skills. If he wasn't such a good fighter, he'd definitely be a -heart cat.

Character Assessment: I don't have any complaints! He's an interesting cat (for real, if he wasn't so skilled, I would beg you to give him the -heart suffix).

I was thinking of creating a full breed la perm character. he'll originally be a kittypet; and like rusty (at the time), he had heard of the mysterious forest cats. would a prefix like kink- work? since their fur is like this (below). or would it be more wise to find a prefix on their coat color or size?

He was somewhat spoiled as a child, and this has made him a bit bratty. He is not one to be trifled with, and has a short temper. He demands the best from his clanmates, and is not lenient towards the weak. He is usually ill-mannered, but on good days he can be humorous and charming. He can be vindictive, and is not one to easily forget mistakes. He achieved his desired rank, but now that he has this leadership role, he relies heavily on his deputy to make the right calls. He is very good at fighting, but is too heavy-footed to be a good hunter.

I highly suggest going for a color name. The texture of fur is a very hard thing to identify from a distance - a proper suffix provides identification even from far away. If you see a black cat from another Clan stealing prey, and their name is, say, Quickstrike, you'd be in trouble. However, in a traditional Clan, that isn't a problem - you know there's a cat named Sootnose in the other Clan, and this cat is a strong contender for that name.

Character Assessment: He's a pretty neat character, and an interesting type of leader (one that I honestly would like to see more of - a fairly competent yet spoiled leader). I like him!

Name: Sunny/Sunstorm

Clan: Cloudclan

Personality/Skills: Sunny has a deep hate for another cat, Lilyheart. Her hate has driven her to become mates with Lilyheart's tormentor, Damon. She has also attacked Lilyheart, tried to poison her, and led her to Damon to be killed. Eventually, she was exiled from Cloudclan when she stole Lilyheart's only kit and started a battle between Cloudclan and Damon's band of loners. She's a relatively good hunter, so she managed to support herself. She can climb well, and often spy's on the camp from the trees.
Important Notes:
Cloudclan is in first generation, barely breaking through the second. All the cats used to be loners/kittypets.

Hi Arcaii. The villainous -cloud will have to wait. I have a bit of trouble describing his personality, he was an outright -cloud when he was young, but stress, age and later paranoia changed him a lot.

Meanwhile, I am sending in the main characters of 'Fog over the Firs'. Neat name, I think. It is a concept of a fan-fiction [I may write it after The Greenleaf Rain [[Dusk and Dawn's new name]] or make it into a CYOA]. The story is about FirClan and FogClan, hence the title. The Clans live up in the mountains [I don't know where yet], FirClan territory is mainly a fir forest halfway up, with a pond and a few caverns and/or a waterfall, I'm thinking. The Firs [nickname for FirClan warriors] know very little about their mysterious neighbors. FogClan lives much higher up the mountain, and fog shrouds their hunting grounds. Spies have been sent but they always came back after a few sunrises, saying they got lost in the mist for a while and found nothing. One day, a Foggy [FogClan warrior] turns up and politely asks FirClan if she can stay for a few moons. That's what I have, I only need a proper plot now.

Description: Moderately pretty molly with short, bristly, gingerish-brown fur, pointed ears and orange eyes, described as 'lanky' by others.
Name: Minknose.
Gender: Molly.
Clan: Proud Fir.
Rank: Warrior.
Personality/Skills: Minky [what everyone calls her] is always alert. She notices even the smallest details and registers them. Her excellent memory helps her. Minky remembers the insignificant things she observes, believing that one sunrise she will find them helpful whilst answering a question or solving a puzzle. Surprisingly, Minky is an impatient cat. She has keen senses, yes, but she is an impulsive warrior, often not thinking beforehand, especially when saying something. That makes her rash, and she often wings it when it comes to taking action. She has a relatively short fuse and is easily ruffled on most occasions. Don't try sarcasm, she doesn't miss a single trick. Minky is an adventurous and venturesome cat at heart, often looking for new anomalies to investigate. She is a bit of a hoyden or tomboy, acting like a daredevil, and exploring far beyond her territory. Her biggest desire is to be the first to discover more about the mysterious, virtually invisible Foggy warriors.

Description: Slightly built warrior with short mackerel tabby fur, brown-grey, with amber eyes.
Name: Jayfur.
Gender: Molly.
Clan: Foggy, temporary Fir.
Rank: Warrior.
Personality: Jayfur is a very quiet cat, with a hoarse, gravelly voice she doesn't use often. Jay is diligent, but unuttered as she works. She is not antisocial, she appears to be warm towards her adopted Clan, listening to their tales of battles and 'I got this scar here...' intently. Jay has an exceptionally strong belief in Starry Spirits [StarClan, everything has a nickname] and often 'meditates', clearing her mind and 'walking with the spirits'. Nobody knows what to think of it, she is a secretive Foggy after all. Jay has a hunch when it comes to predicting the weather that the medicine cat finds useful. When she speak she makes her point clear, in a polite and levelheaded way. She prefers to think the consequences of a decision through, if she has the option and time. Jay is afraid of lightning, and prefers to sleep storms through in her den.
Important Notes: Jay is a naturally quiet and coy cat. I don't have a tragic backstory up my sleeve, no worries!

meet heronfoot, the intelligent and quick-witted deputy of cedarclan. she is at the
young age of 31 moons, or a little over two and a half years old. she is a very relaxed
and friendly she-cat who doesn't panic easily under stressful situations. heronfoot is
usually very organized, which makes her great in her position. she can plan battle
attacks and certain strategies for the clan to use should they ever come across
something dangerous. with her relaxed personality, heronfoot doesn't get offended
easily. if a cat is being rude or uncooperative with her, she still treats them like she would any of her clan-mates. while
the dominant side of her personality is almost always present, she does indeed have an "alter ego". this rarely comes out,
but when it does, she is snappy, hostile, uncaring, and blunt. it has only come out once before, so she doesn't know much
about it.

heronfoot is a slender white and grey patched she-cat with pale green eyes. she is slightly taller than the average she-cat,
but not by much. her lithe figure and short and sleek fur make her a better adversary for running, hunting, and quick att-
-acks, counter attacks, or dodges. she isn't exceptionally strong, so full-on fighting or climbing is definitely not her strong
suit. heronfoot is a pretty good swimmer; which is ironic because she hates the idea of getting soaking wet.
