[All right, this should be a bit long, so I may actually do half tomorrow. As I said before, it's not exactly the regular traditional, so I'm not really looking for the name reviews :3 just making sure that most of my clan has a solid character]

Image/Description: slender, slightly long-legged dark brown tom with amber eyes
Name: Buzzardnose
Gender: Tom
Clan: PineClan
Rank: Warrior
Personality/Skills: Buzzardnose is an overly cautious and shy tom. He doesn't usually interact with his clanmates, unless it is his best friend, Dovefur. He and Dovefur have been friends since kithood and she is one of the only cats he really opens up to. Sometimes, he sits a short distance from the camp underneath a pine tree, just to get away from the others. In his mind, no other cat can understand him truly.
- Buzzardnose, as his suffix suggests, is the most skilled tracker in the clan. His ability to follow scents is the best in the clan and he knows the track of nearly every kind of animal in the forest.
Important Notes: At night, Buzzardnose is plagued by nightmares of blood and his fallen clanmates yowling in pain. Most of his strange habits and characteristics come from a single terrifying event in his past in which nine of his clan's warriors were brutally slain in front of him, including his parents and only littermate. The camp was attacked by coyotes and in the end, the clan retreated and moved their camp to another location. It seems, however, that Buzzardnose is still haunted by the cats they left behind.

Image/Description: Light golden-brown she-cat with amber eyes
Name: Honeykit (heart?)
Gender: Molly
Clan: PineClan
Rank: Kit [warrior]
Personality/Skills: Honeykit is a typically happy she-cat. She is confident in herself and her clanmates and looks forward to one day becoming a warrior to serve her clan in the best way that she can. There are times that she can be outspoken about her opinion, but she also knows that hers is not the only one. She is completely obedient to the warrior code and will always try to do the right thing above all.
Important Notes: None really that I can think of, except that she will be Buzzardnose's apprentice

Image/Description: Sleek, handsome silver tabby tom with pale green eyes
Name: Silverstar [heart]
Gender: Tom
Clan: PineClan
Rank: Leader
Personality/Skills: Silverstar is a young leader devoted to his clan. He is brave, but apprehensive about being leader in Cedarstar's place since he looked up to the old leader and isn't quite sure he can be the same kind of leader that the old tom was. He tries his best, but still second-guesses himself a lot, which sometimes undermines his leadership abilities.
Important Notes: He was born a rogue, but when he was a bit over apprentice-age, the coyote attack happened. His mother, frightened for her only kit, helped in the fight, but was mortally wounded. She managed to flee with the clan cats, but died soon after reaching their new camp. She asked of Cedarstar to watch after her son and raise him well, her final wish. Cedarstar promised to do this and acted as a father and mentor to Silver.

Image/Description: Grizzled, stocky mottled gray-brown tabby with yellow eyes. He is battle-scarred and has nicked ears.
Name: Garclaw
Gender: Tom
Clan: PineClan
Rank: Deputy
Personality/Skills: Garclaw is a gruff tom, sometimes getting short with others when he is in a bad mood, which happens a lot. This is mostly when he is arranging patrols and other cats seem to think they can do a better job at it than him. Thankfully, his clanmates mostly ignore this because they know his heart is good. Another good way to describe Garclaw is the strong silent type. He rarely speaks when he isn't handing out duties or sorting patrols. The only other time he talks is when some other cat speaks to him first. The only time he will show his soft side is when dealing with kits. He absolutely adores kittens!
- Garclaw is skilled in the art of battle. He has fought many creatures, rogues, foxes, raccoons, and so many more. The only time he was utterly beaten was when the coyotes attacked...
Important Notes: Can't really think of anything :P

Image/Description: Black and white with yellow eyes [FOUND A PERFECT PICTURE OF HIM xXx]
Name: Crowpelt
Gender: Tom
Clan: PineClan
Rank: Med Cat
Personality/Skills: Crowpelt is a laid-back tom. He rarely gets ruffled about anything and can always lighten a situation with a joke or soft words of kind wisdom. He loves all of his clanmates like they were his kin and loves to be able to help them. He is a pretty good hunter and a swift runner and sometimes his clanmates will comment that he should have been a warrior. His response is always the same, a joke about himself as a warrior. "Can you imagine me fighting in a battle?"
Important Notes: Sometimes he has nightmares of the coyote attack, though he tells no one. He was just a 'paw when it happened, but he remembers the horrific wounds that he and his mentor could not heal and the cats that they could not save, including Silverstar's mother.

Image/Description: Broad-shouldered brown cat with one white paw and golden eyes
Name: Hickoryclaw
Gender: Tom
Clan: PineClan
Rank: Senior Warrior
Personality/Skills: Hickoryclaw is a tough tom. In the attack, he lost his first daughter, and this has hardened him beyond belief. He rarely shows his emotions, but will sometimes put on a smile, only so that his mate does not worry for him. Other than that, he is a loyal warrior and devoted to doing the best he can for his clan and protecting the cats within.
- Hickoryclaw is skilled at fighting and he has had his skill tested by many of the forest's creatures.
Important Notes: Can't think of any...

[Well, this is it for now. I'll do more tomorrow .-. These haven't really been written out before so it's a little rough. I'm definitely open to suggestions for all of them]

I'm not really sure how to go about this one. The cats are sent in with a name review sheet, and yet you said that you aren't looking for warrior names. I guess all I can really do here is say that they sound pretty solid (though you can read up on the front page concerning long claws and fighting skills).

Once again, thank you for the ways of improving teaselnose, or teaselstream. I'll try and improve him, and I was thinking that in a way, he would be attacked as a kit along with his parents, particularly by a large animal. Despite all three of them coming out alive, maybe teaselnose/stream (a kit at the time though) would have felt betrayed in a manner, that the clan discovered them only after they were attacked and severely injured. Maybe then he'd feel resentful to others, feeling as if they will only backstab him or purposely come too late

Nah, it's fine. It passed over me completely as well, and I would've totally been oblivious if I hadn't been told what I was looking at.

I don't think a tragic backstory like that is necessarily required on this guy, especially considering the questions it would raise (why were he and his parents out alone, how did the Clan not notice the animal, why would he resent them to this day if they're still taking care of him, etc). The question I asked wasn't why he turned out this way, it was how this disassociates him from his community.

Do other cats just not want to talk to him, due to his blunt and stoic ways? Are there those fascinated with his intelligence, only to be dismissed by him? Does he make a genuine effort to interact with others, but just can't scrounge up the social skills?

I won't do name reviews, as per request, but I must ask for context, especially concerning the Clan's location and lifestyle.

Buzzardnose
Character Assessment: I don't see much wrong with him! He'll hopefully ease out of his trauma one day, but being a Clan cat, that ride never stops.
Character Suggestions: None.

Honeykit
Character Assessment: I wouldn't exactly peg her as a -heart type (given that -heart cats are notorious for breaking the code to suit their morals and are very loud about their beliefs), but otherwise, she seems solid.
Character Suggestions: As she develops, challenge her beliefs and find things that will make her break the code's rules. Or examine how her morality aligns with the world around her - take Javert as an example (he had such a black and white morality that when faced with someone who had done both good things and bad things but was still a good person, he couldn't handle it).

Silverstar
Character Assessment: Again, this cat doesn't seem like a -hearter (-hearts are so dedicated to their ideals that they leave no room to question themselves. When a -heart actually begins to stumble in faith, that's a sign that things are going downhill). Other than that, though, he'll hopefully mature into a strict and wise leader.
Character Suggestions: None.

Garclaw
Character Assessment: Him being short with those who try to show him up and being known as the general grump sounds a little weird put next to being considered the "strong and silent" type. People who aren't afraid to give someone what for rarely stay silent for long.
Other than that, I don't see much wrong with him.
Character Suggestions: Just decide on whether he's quiet or grouchy.

Crowpelt
Character Assessment: If he's notably skilled or notably relaxed, I would place him as a -cloud or -whisker. (Whoops.) I should note here that it shouldn't be considered too unusual for a medicine cat to be good at other things, though it would likely be pushed for them to focus on their craft, but other than that, he's fine.
Character Suggestions: None.

Hickoryclaw
Character Assessment: I've never been a huge fan of the "loss of a cat hardens another" thing, mostly because the Clan life is simple work until you die, and cats do not normally get to die of old age. That's why elders are such a big deal - they've worn out their bodies just to exist a little longer than normal.
At least he puts up an effort to keep his Clan and mate satisfied.
Character Suggestions: If you so care to, you could change that thing I mentioned above, but that would change his entire personality, so...your call.

do you think naming a cat chubface would be cruel? it makes me giggle a lot heeh

Image/Description:

A slight greyish brown tabby with an underbite and amber eyes.
Name:
Pikepaw. I'm assuming he's not notable enough of have -jaw, however cool that would sound, but correct me if im wrong because Im loving the concept of Pikejaw. If not, the default suffixes, probably -stripe, unless you think another fits better.
Gender:
dfab male
Clan:
Water-side fanclan
Rank:
Apprentice
Personality/Skills:
Pikepaw is a very, very smart fellow. He's an unparalleled tactician, as discovered relatively early on in his apprenticeship by his mentor and deputy when he cautiously suggested an alternate ambushing technique in order to rid the clan of a pair of foxes with less danger, which with some modification from his seniors, succeeded. Since then, he has shown time and time again a remarkable ingenuity and creative thinking process, and though he is still a young cat with much to learn and with time to develop, he is regularly consulted whenever a battle comes up in order to bounce ideas off of him. He is a rather average hunter and a slightly sub par paw-to-paw fighter, though his crafty techniques means he can sometimes best better brawlers, even if this seen a little bit as 'cheating.' Due to his tactical talent, there is a rather lot of pressure on him to do well, and much is expected of him in the future, with some particularly enthusiastic clanmembers murmuring of a possible future as a deputy.

Pikepaw himself is a lot more reserved about this. Though he could have easily become an excessively prideful cat, he has in fact become hyper-aware of the importance of his every action. He feels an innate sense of responsibility over every single cat, and blames himself whenever a fellow clanmate gets injured carrying out a plan in which he helped out, no matter how little his part of how unavoidable or even accidental the injury. This wariness and fear of failure carries over to his everyday life; he is somewhat afraid of taking risks, and is extremely poor at going out of his comfort zone. He is somewhat of a control freak, and though he isn't exactly bossy, he becomes very agitated whenever he doesn't know where someone is or refuses outright to listen to him. This, coupled with his apparent inability to ever fully relax, makes him a little difficult to interact with, and his fellow apprentices in particular seem to run out of patience with him fairly regularly. Though he does not brag constantly about his abilities, there is a sort of arrogance about him in that he believes he always knows best. He is aware he is more intelligent that most, and thus sometimes makes decisions, particularly difficult ones, without informing others in an attempt to protect them. He is always polite, even charming, to his elders, though is capable of some surprisingly biting sarcasm and dry wit.

Important Notes:
not sure if you can tell, but i love me some fish prefixes. he'd probably have a complete breakdown sooner or later unless he learnt to deal w stress ha. idk ive never tried writing such an anxious character before, advice on doing so would be great. ahhh this got super long im so sorry

also, do you have any advice for writing villains? im pretty weak on that front in general, not just warriors, which is a shame because i absolutely adore a good antagonist, and have been told theyre extremely fun to rp. i just seem unable to manage to create a genuinely evil character without making them hideously cliche

Thank you ^^ If you need background this clan is located very near the Felsenthal National Wildlife Refuge in south-eastern Arkansas. It's called PineClan since the original camp and the new one are both located in forests full of pine trees. They hunt whatever creatures they can find, including mice, birds, lizards, etc. If that's any help with that...I know this area well, so I know most of the creatures and stuff and regular traditional doesn't exactly fit this area.

Buzzardnose is definitely one of my favorite cats :3 he's a bit more well-planned than the others.

Honeykit is still a young 'un so there's still room for development, thank goodness XD

For Silverstar, as a warrior and deputy, he was set in his ways and rarely doubted himself and his morals. I think it was the large responsibility of becoming leader at such a young age caused him to falter a bit and start to doubt his abilities.

Garclaw just kinda stalks around with that grumpy look, giving the youngsters a hard look as they pass. He doesn't say anything but they get the feeling he's grouchy and try not to cross him. I dunno, I'll work on it ^^

And for Crowpelt, as I was writing that down, I did get the feeling that maybe I should change his suffix to -cloud. And his joke is mostly for the cats who were apprentices with him. He was a warrior apprentice at first, and quickly realized that he enjoyed and was more suited to medicine cat duties. Might should've added that.

Hickoryclaw....I think he's just had the worst of the shock of losing so many clanmates at a single time and so brutally at that. I think it would be different if it had been a normal battle and having the knowledge that the fallen died with the honor of protecting their clan, but instead their deaths didn't really make a difference so...he's a little bit messed up by it.

That's a cute sounding name, honestly. The cats wouldn't consider it cruel, since the prefix and suffix work separately - Toadface isn't implied to look like a toad, nor is Foxheart implied to be selfish and conniving. Toadface, as a name, literally means "a brown cat with a pale underbelly who is considered to be very attractive", and Foxheart means "a ginger cat with a notable sense of idealism". The only time the two parts of a name coincide is with renames.

Or maybe I just think Chub- sounds cute. Who knows.

I think I'll be writing up a separate post detailing the best way to go about a villain, since that's a very intricate subject and one that should be covered with care instead of in a quick note before a character review. Look for it in a bit!

Anyways, onto Pikepaw.

Name Suggestion: Pikepelt/Crookedjaw/Juttingjaw.
Name Reasoning: There's two ways to go about this. The first name assumes that he was just born with the underbite and that it doesn't affect his day to day life (as a side note, if a name implies a tabby, it's not recommended to use -stripe), or that it's rather mild. The second assumes that he received an underbite in an accident or that he was born with it, but it affects his ability to bite down on things and such. If it's the former, use -pelt (alliteration ftw), and if it's the latter, use Crookedjaw or Juttingjaw. (Juttingjaw sounds so odd, but it's the closest I could get to a fitting name.)

Character Assessment: Now this guy is excellent.
I always like characters who are at a much higher intelligence than their species should be, and Pike is no exception, especially since that intelligence does have a price. He sounds like an utterly fantastic character to RP with, or even just read about. I think you pulled off his anxiety perfectly and gave it solid grounding (it's far too often that I see characters who are anxious for no reason).
Character Suggestions: None! Ya dun clean.

Ooh, you even picked a specific park! I'm impressed. (I know that sounds sarcastic but I am genuinely pleased about that. Specific locations really help with names.)

All this extra info is nice and solid. I think they're good to go, then!
