Personality: Despite her rather tough physique, Signe is a kind old soul with motherly tendencies. She seeks to give proper validation to those who might not get enough appreciation in their lives. Witty and outspoken, she usually prefers diplomacy over direct action, with seemingly unlimited patience, she always offers a chance for someone to prove themselves trustworthy. Though to take her kindness for granted wouldn’t be very wise, as she remains a warrior all the same, and will stop at nothing to defend herself and everyone within the fairgrounds. She remains diligent in protecting the people of the super natural realm, while also keeping an eye out for the humans, offering help where she can. Despite experiencing many wars and witnessing most of what drove supernaturals into hiding, she holds out hope for the human race, having lost many friends and partners to time itself, knowing acceptance among both worlds can exist.
Short Bio: Signe Dolph was once a feared shield maiden in the age of Vikings, reveling in the glory conquering lands brought to her people, before settling down to take time in raising a family. Though war began to rage not long after Signe was out of commission, taking care of three children with worry there may not be a world to bring them up into. With her husband severely wounded from battle, Signe was left to tend to the home and family entirely, when a mysterious man appeared at her door, bringing an offer she couldn’t possibly refuse.
The man claimed to be a demon, and Signe’s father, having abandoned her while he was being hunted. He returned after sensing her stress, offering to unlock the power she was given through her birthright, and that with both of them, it may be enough to win the war. With everything to lose if they were not successful, Signe accepts the offer, allowing herself to be bitten.
Her father wastes little time with proper training, allowing Signe to fight rather savagely on the battlefield during her first bloodlust. It was by the wars end did the man take advantage of the fear brought to Signe’s people, claiming to be their new king with his daughter by his side.
Feeling betrayed by his ulterior motive and the eternal curse he has brought upon her, Signe uses every ounce of newfound strength she was given to bring her father down, though only with the aid of the unified people could she finally win the battle, leaving her the head of her cursed bloodline. Her fellow warriors never truly viewed her the same, as most others looked upon her with fear. A witch cautioned her on her newfound abilities, being made from darker entities, yet they could be used for any purpose she desired.
Signe found purpose in remaining the protector of her people until her final child passed of old age. From then on Signe travelled the world, taking on many identities in her eternal mission to use her abilities for the greater good. Seeing the amount of injustice brought to the people of the supernatural realm gave her further motivation to help her friends create a safe haven. With magic acquired through the teachings of a witch partner, Signe created the fairgrounds expanding nature, being able to continue its growth as more people seek refuge, while creating the illusion that it is smaller then it seems from the outside. Signe had typically spent a lot of time away from the fairgrounds as she was searching for more supernaturals to offer sanctuary, only ever realizing most of her friends had began to distance themselves from the fair when she returned after a few years worth of a trip away. She took on the alias of Blake Conti to discreetly renew the magic she had allowed to fade during her time away, taking on a job as a blacksmith within the fair to make up for the time she’s lost, and maybe better get to know the people she’s sworn to protect.
Other: Blake has been working at the fair for about two years now.
