the entrance to the common room is located behind a
stone wall in the dungeons of hogwarts castle. a pass
word is required to enter it; whereupon a passage is
revealed leading to the common room.

the slytherin boys’ and girls' dormitory are rooms off
of the slytherin common room where slytherins sleep
at night. the walls are decorated with slytherin crests.
they sleep in ancient four-posters with green silk hang
ings. during the night it is possible to listen to the lake
water lapping against the windows.

the entrance to the common room is located behind the
portrait of the fat lady on the seventh floor of hogwarts
castle. a password is required to enter it. a circular hole
is behind the painting leading to the common room.

the gryffindor boys’ dormitory is located inside the gryf
findor tower, and is where the male gryffindor students
go to sleep at night. every dorm room is equipped with
a centrally-located stove, and each student gets their own
four poster bed, flanked by a set of windows and space for
storing personal belongings.

the gryffindor girls’ dormitory is located inside the gryff
indor tower in the opposite side of the gryffindor boys’
dormitory. as the founders considered boys to be less
trustworthy they put a spell on the stairwell to prevent
boys from entering that caused the stairs to turn into a slide.

the entrance to the common room is located on the west
side of hogwarts at the top of a spiral staircase, presum
ably located on the fifth floor, and is a door without a
doorknob or keyhole, but a bronze knocker in the shape
of an eagle. in order to enter the room, a person must
answer a riddle asked by the eagle knocker; if they
answer incorrectly, they must wait for someone else who
gets it right.

the ravenclaw girls’ and boys’ dormitory is a dormitory
located in the ravenclaw tower on the west side of
hogwarts castle. the four-poster beds are covered in sky
blue silk eiderdowns and the sound of the wind whistling
around the windows is very relaxing.

the entrance to the common room is located “in a
nook on the right hand side of the kitchen corridor”,
concealed behind a stack of barrels. in order to reveal
the entrance, no password is required. instead, one
must tap the barrel two from the bottom, middle of the
second row, in the rhythm of ‘helga hufflepuff’, which
will make the lid swing open, exposing a passageway that
will lead to the basement when crawled through. however,
if the wrong lid is tapped or the wrong rhythm is used,
the intruder will be doused in vinegar and barred access.

the hufflepuff boys’ and girls’ dormitory is a dormitory
located in the hufflepuff basement in the dungeons near the
kitchens. it is reached through a round door and is covered
by copper lamps that casts light on their four-posters which
are covered in patchwork quilts. copper bed warmers hang
on the walls and are able to give a warm floor.
