✷ Nickname: She gets very offended at attempts to call her "Rei". Publically, and to the rest of the group, she is known as being both male, and called Jang Daichi, thanks to her father nicknaming her Daichi and her wanting to hide her ancestry.

✷ Role: Inventor/creative peep; the "normie"; the skulker

✷ L O O K S ✷

✷ Hair Color: Dark brown
✷ Hair style: Mid-chest length, mildly wavy. Normally it's held down loose, but she also wears it in a sort of half-bun when she needs to fight or do anything serious.
✷ Eye Color: Brown
✷ Skin Color: A very light sort of tone, almost a little golden
✷ Build: Slim, feminine, but very obviously athletic

✷ Defining Features: Although this is more on her clothing than her person, Reiko has devices attached to each of her extremities that spit fire or acid, depending on the circumstances, which she uses to fake being a fire-bender. She carries a wide mixture of potions and small inventions, as well as the tools to adjust them, as well as more conventional weaponry; a bow and (many) arrows, two war-fans, and a couple of kunai. Reiko is well trained in each of these, as well as mounted combat. She seems to stow either inventions, potions, or weapons everywhere.
She's more acrobatic than strong, tending to slip past attacks rather than take them. She wears a thin layer of armour beneath her clothing, but it's very flexible, so as not to restrict her, and not very strong, so as not to raise people to be alert to it; just enough to provide some protection.

✷ I N S I D E ✷

✷ Power: None.
Reiko is not a bender.
However, she is very well trained in combat, particularly ranged combat and mounted combat. She is highly trained in how to fight with a katana, too, but as she used a long-sword variant, and she normally rode on a mount, and she does not have a mount with her, she did not bring her sword. If she spots a shorter katana somewhere, she will be very likely to take it.
Additionally, she is an inventor and alchemist. Reiko has invented devices - utilising alchemy, too - that allow her to copy the skills of a very unrefined fire bender. Most people who know she's from the fire nation assume she's just extremely badly trained, as opposed to not a bender. The fire from this is not very hot, as she has no way to deflect it in an emergency, and needs to make sure that it won't harm her through her armour.
She also uses alchemy and tinkering to fit a range of other purposes. Her fire-spitters (as she calls the devices that let her copy fire-bending a little) can also spit acid. She doesn't like resorting to this (as it tends to give away that she's not a fire-bender), but it is a useful last-resort, as it's easier to aim, and doesn't need to be weakened in case she accidentally hits herself collaterally.
She uses acid to break through things frequently, and knows how to quickly freeze water (or keep it from freezing), which she plans to use in emergencies if she ever has to "prove she's not" from the fire nation. She's also a tinkerer, and good at things like lock-picking or quickly repairing things, etc. She can use alchemy decently well to help heal people, but it's slow, and definitely less effective (as stands) compared to a water-bender.
All in all, she can definitely stand up for herself in combat, as long as she has time to prepare for it, and to dodge bending attacks.
✷ Weakness: She's not a bender, and, while trained as a fighter, including in martial arts, this poses a substantial weakness. She relies almost entirely on being able to prepare in the most effective way, and if she's disarmed, or her devices are broken, she can't fight very effectively.
Additionally, her devices are largely made of metal, and, while insulated, could be severely damaged by a fire-bending attack that hit them too closely.
She does have a way to make them more powerful, by changing the chemicals inside them, but due to the sheer heat of them, and the proximity of her hands and feet to them, she would need to use them extremely sparingly while this applies. In an emergency? She'd still prefer the acid.
She has no way to deflect attacks coming towards her, and has to rely on quick reactions to get out of the way.
✷ Personality: Reiko is a very tough and determined sort of individual. She loathes being talked down to or belittled, and she has a little list in her head of people who have done that one too many times... but they have no indication that they're on that list.
She's, obviously, very creative and inventive, and resourceful, making the most of what's afforded to her, and always coming up with new ways to help find solutions to things. She's reasonably cautious with what she chooses to use to manage things, but she normally has a solid idea of what to do if she ever needed to abandon caution.
Her life was pretty strictly regimented as a child, so she's highly dependent on order. She's very precise with how she manages things, and her actions are normally very deliberate.
It's important to note that Reiko was largely raised as a boy, and she blends in pretty well. But, she does really like girly things too, and this comes through sometimes. Most of her comrades have concluded that "he" is just really confident in "his" "masculinity". Whether that could withstand realising that she carries a couple of dresses around in her pack, as well as very decorative floral hair pieces remains to be seen... Sometimes she makes a little more of an act than is strictly needed, but she'd rather that than anything else. At this point, it's more that she keeps it quiet because she's not sure how to address it, rather than that she doesn't want people to know.
Reiko is surprisingly sneaky, not so much on raw stealth as having a lie and an excuse prepared, but she definitely can manage the stealth.
She's pretty insecure about not being a bender, and hates the idea of anyone knowing. She's very well educated, and definitely has her nerdy streak. She knows a surprising amount of things about plants in particular, but then, that knowledge is sort of essential in knowing what to harvest from to get particular chemicals for alchemy. She gets genuinely really excited to get to nerd out, and then remembers she's not meant to nerd out, and it doesn't need much observation to notice the definite twitch when she knows something and has decided not to comment, in case giving away how educated she is is too much of a clue about her past.
She adores spicy foods, and sometimes challenges people to spice-eating competitions. Do. Not. Engage.
She's naturally pretty curious and likes testing things out, but this more applies to "the properties of things" than to people.
She doesn't like to take half measures in things; if she thinks something brutal is the best way to get something done - and no one tells her no - she'll go for it. It's the only real way that her emotions seem to come out at the moment.
✷ Plus traits: She's pretty disciplined. This means a few other things hold true; she won't willingly break a promise, or make a promise she doesn't think she can achieve. She has a tight schedule, and when she says she'll be somewhere, she will be there.
While she can definitely be duplicitous, and has no qualms at all about lying, she will always make sure someone knows what she's doing if she considers that important. If she's going to sneak off to break in somewhere, someone will know what she's doing and why.
Her creativity and inventiveness mean she normally has a solution to most smaller-scale problems.
She has a good sense of when she can and can't manage something (in itself), and isn't afraid to admit that. She's pretty good at managing things (eg money) and managing people, and is well educated.
She's pretty good at channelling her anger into working harder on her inventions and training harder, rather than yelling at people or getting into fights... even if she tends to practice aiming at quick drawings of the face of whoever she's angry at.
✷ Negative traits: She hates the idea of being seen as weak, and often goes too far and ends up taking up too much for herself, even if each individual thing is perfectly manageable. She's very insecure about her past and her family, and saying the wrong thing can result in very unpredictable sorts of reactions. She might be good at hiding her anger, but she's not good at letting it go, and she definitely does have a list of people in her mind that she wants revenge on.
She's not easily trusting, and she has no hesitance in lying. She has a full fake-backstory prepared if anyone asks about it. No one else knows she's not a bender, and very few people know that she's not actually called Daichi, nor is she a boy.
She has a lot of insecurities, and goes out of her way to try proving them wrong regularly. She also tends to be a little paranoid with assuming people are talking about her negatively.
She's prone to bottling up all her emotions; when Reiko finally lets them come out, there is going to be one huge emotional explosion in coming. She really wants someone she can just be herself around, but she has no idea how to go about making close enough friends to meet that.
Curiosity can definitely get the better of her sometimes. When she's provided with an interesting object or plant or animal, she wants to find out what it does, and, even if it's not established if it's safe or not... she wants to know what it does.
✷ History: Reiko was born to middle-aged parents, after almost two decades of them trying to have a child. Her mother died shortly after she was born, as well, leaving her as an only child.
She came from a minor noble family, and her father was a high-up military figure. Her family had a long lineage of powerful male benders and strong warriors, all of which were highly educated.
Reiko was a single child, a girl, not a bender, and complications from her birth caused the death of the mother who her father adored. Needless to say, she was not well-liked as she was. Publically, she was known as a boy. Her father announced her as "Daichi" to all of his contacts, and pretended he had a son. She was trained as a warrior to live up to his legacy from a very young age. Reiko, on the one hand, did like learning how to fight, but, at the same time, wanted to be able to join in with the more girly activities that many of the servants' children in her father's household engaged in. She'd often sneak off, letting her hair down, and wearing her only set of girls' clothes to join in, and thus did learn some of those skills, and did make some female friends.
Her father grew slowly more disappointed at Reiko's slowness to learn bending as she aged, as everyone in her family before had been learning to bend before they could run in a straight line. Meanwhile, Reiko was learning how to sneak around and make up identities for herself...
The idea to start learning alchemy was sheer chance in the bath. Her father had made his disdain for her clear at this point, referring to her as "Rei" or "nothing", even as she met every challenge thrown at her perfectly that wasn't bending. The night that Reiko first demonstrated her "bending", however? He was overjoyed.
And Reiko liked seeing her dad happy, for once. She improved the devices regularly, thus seeming to keep up with the training for a while, but it quickly became obvious that making them any more powerful would be dangerous to her, without her being able to bend. And when she stopped getting stronger anymore? Her father's disdain renewed. He announced that one of her cousins would be his heir instead, and sent Reiko away to be a soldier.
Meanwhile, this whole affair, and pretending to be a bender for so long, has Reiko a little disillusioned. She still wants to prove she's "really" a bender, but she does wish she didn't have to.

✷ Acquaintances: Most high-ranking members of the fire-nation military count as her acquaintances, although none of them are aware that she's actually female. Similarly, she has been present at a few royal events before, but she really isn't familiar with high up political figures within the fire nation, and most of them have no idea who she is.
✷ Friends: She very much has a tendency to get very close to a very small number of people at a time. Although she gets on well in a very formal sort of way with other soldiers, she doesn't really consider them friends.
✷ Family: She doesn't really consider hesrself to have any.
She has six cousins, one of which replaced her as heir to her family.
Her mother died when she was a baby
Her father, Jee Taichi, is a high-up member of the fire-nation military, and holds a strong disdain for her.

✷ Power: Earthbending is something that can be both amazing and terrifying. He uses it only when he has to but has been asked to join the military multiple times. He continues to run his earthbending dojo to keep the house his family wanted, since only is mother is left. Earthbending is important to him but it scares him because he's seen it cause many deaths by itself. x
✷ Weakness: Kids, and food. Especially food. He is very sensitive around fire as well along with a deathly fear of the ocean. x
✷ Personality: He is very sweet, looks intimidating but could help you get your groceries in a heartbeat. He is an ok cook, mainly focuses on training and bettering himself. He is cold to people who think of nothing but themselves and think that they are better than everyone. That they don't think they could improve themselves at all. x

✷ History: Oliver grew up in a positive but hardworking house. By the time he was 9, his mother gave birth to twins which he adored day in, day out. He protected them and was with them whenever he could be. By the time he was 15, there was an attack in his village by the fire nation. He lost his younger twin brother and sister in that fire nation raid. That's why he's so overprotective in the group and wants to train the others to prepare them as much as he can. His parents raised him in a dojo and that is where his father trained him endlessly. His father died in the same fire and Oliver has never gotten past it. He continues to work at the dojo until his mother finally told him to get out of the house because he was focusing so much on her, that he wasn't making a life for himself. x

She has a rounder face and narrow shoulders. Her eyes are also very round while her body is more of an hourglass shape. Her arms have almost no muscles, but her legs are strong.

✷ Power: She is an airbender, but that is about it. She is definitely a flight person than fight. Her airbending skill is amazing, but she does not use it to fight unless she is greatly persuaded. She does not have skills with weapons, but because of her small build she is able to dodge easily and get through small places.
✷ Weakness: When it comes to strength or a fight without fleeing, she is beat. She usually uses larger people’s size against them, so if they are the same size as her she cannot fight well at all. She can be easily spooked especially with very loud noises.
✷ Personality: Nirra is smart for her age, but she can sometimes keep the knowledge to herself. She is never shy, but rather quiet. She does love large crowds and is not introverted, but an ambeivert. She is observant and loves to watch people and record everything they do that seems interesting to her. She is never afraid to speak her mind, just usually prefers not to. If someone questions someone or something she loves, however she WILL speak her mind. She sometimes can get self conscious about her age, but is easily re-incouraged. She never cries and it is hard to tell when she is upset. When really agitated, she can be sassy and sarcastic. She talks more around her closest friends and family.

✷ History: She was born with the group of Air Nomads with two loving parents. When she was 1, it was obvious that she was an airbender and her father got upset that both his wife and child were airbenders, but not him. He left the Nomads and went off for a while. He died of starvation a couple of months later. Her mother was devastated, but decided to move on. She raised Nirra by herself and taught her to be a good airbender. Nirra, however did not like to use her bending much and never got her airbending tattoos. She wanted to become a writer and often spent hours watching people and animals instead of training.

(A Ravencat is a small pure black cat with large raven wings. Where it’s front paws should be on a normal cat are raven legs and talons.
