urgghhh i just switched from a mac to a windows laptop and it took me so many edits to figure out the dimensions but i've finally got it!
val and
alex are finished.
val's your typical journalist/college student.
she's a realist with ambitions,
so she's torn between being intimidated and intrigued by all the famous people at the gala.
and she oscillates between wanting to be like them
and then thinking poorly of them because she thinks they're all just selfish like her dad
she's pretty much only there because her dad set her up with flynn,
who's not interested in her at all
except for the fact that his manager insists that this would be good to stop the rumors,
and also to ensure that val's dad would stop digging into flynn's sexuality/scandal.
alex is a white collar thief-for-hire who dabbles in criminal activity cover-ups.
he likes the feeling of knowing that he's basically untouchable,
not just because he's really good at his job,
but because he's done plenty of jobs for people in powerful places,
so he's got plenty of dirt on them, and he gets plenty of money from them.
his moral compass is broken but he's more of a commit-crimes-to-satisfy-god-complex
instead of a commit-crimes-because-i-don't-care-value-life kind of guy,
so he generally steers clear of violence.
oh, and he's bad at making human connections,
he has a bad habit of using people and then not being able to show how much he cares,
but he does get kicks out of flirting with anything with a pulse and a wallet
(yanno, to get into their wallets, of course)
