❝ I had a way then, losing it all on my own.
I had a heart then but the queen has been overthrown.
And I'm not sleeping now, the dark is too hard to beat;
And I'm not keeping now, the strength I need to push me.❞

"Hello, it's very nice to meet you! My name isn't really relevant to you at the moment, but I'll be the one interviewing you today. Why don't we start off with you telling me a little about yourself? Just tell me whatever you want and we will go from there."
"So, you're going to interview me? Huh, this will be interesting. Where to start: my name perhaps? Halsten Adeline Juliet Dackery. I know its a mouthful, but I like the way it rolls out of the mouths of those who say it, especially with an accent. It's nothing too simple, nothing to eye catchy. It's just... me, really. My parents had this two-part name thing going on, and i was a victum of this nonsense. they named me Halsten Adeline as my first name, but please, call me Hallie, Halsten being this inside joke between them over an actress they both admired, and Adeline being the magazine name they found her on. Funny, both the magazine and the actress were shut down in their publicity and such. Now my middle name, Juliet, was the same nickname as my mother's, my grandmothers, and my great grandmother's first name. In case you didnt realize, Juliet runs a long line in my family. You may be wondering why you've heard of the last name, Dackery, before? Yeah, its a famous alcoholic drink. I dont find it amusing, but apparently others do.
In case you also didnt notice, I am of the female gender. I look no older than eighteen, right? Thats because I am eighteen, but even a genius could figure that. Well, thats basically it. Next question?"
"Well it's very nice to meet you! I won't try to keep you to long, so I only got a few more questions for you. Why don't you go ahead and start off my telling me a bit about your school life. For example: What grade are you in? Do you do well in school? What are your plans after high school?"
"Well i'm in twelfth grade, otherwise known as a senior. My classes are nothing to be all that proud of. I slacked off in the beginning of high school and am now paying the price by having two math classes, one geometry, one algebra, a history class, honors, an A.P. english class, one chemistry, a culinary class for elective, and water polo for P.E. I do pretty bad in school, but my mom signed me up for all the Honors and A.P. stuff because she thinks i'm some prodigy. I'm not too worried about my plans after high school. I want to go to culinary school, you know, cooking and stuff. I'm pretty good at it."
"How interesting, I suppose. Tell me this though, how has your school life effected the life you have at home? Good? Bad? In the middle? I guess what I'm really trying to ask is to tell be about your family; mother, father, brothers, sisters, and whatever else."
"I guess my history starts when my parents met. Ashton Willis worked at the local pool of their small town of Pierstate, Michigan as a life guard in training, being just in seventh grade. Bret Dackery was new to town, but he and his new found buddies, all in sixth grade had already matured well enough to be scouting for girls their age. For my dad, it was love at first sight, or just the hormones, he didnt know, but for my mother, it was the beginning of regular flowers sent to her doorstep, numerous times when she caught him stalking her, and supreme embarrassment. All the other girls laughed at her for being crushed on by a younger man, and Bret saw it. So, he offered her a compromise. If she promised him one date, he would leave her be and never bother her again. Reluctantly, she took him up on the offer. What she got in return was more than she could ever ask for.
You see, my mother was one of the so called, 'popular' girls of he school. She had the body, she had the looks, the attitude, but what she never seemed to get was a great guy. WHo would have thought he was a grade younger? He took her out into the forest to a large sycamore which he decorated with candles at ever branche's end. he draped a picnic blanket across the widest branch and there they had a picnic under the lite sky. She fell in love, and they stayed together from their lower grade years, all through high school and college, until now that they are happily married.
They wanted a boy, both of them. When they gave birth to their first daughter though, Jezebel Faith, now 27 years old and happily married, they werent too dissapointed though. They were just happy to have a first child. Molly May was next, now 25 years old and engaged, their second daughter. They werent the least bit unhappy, but deep inside, they still wanted a boy. They went for a third try at it, ending up with Rosalyn Marie as their third child, third daughter, who is now 22 and just starting her last year of college. They had all right given up on this disaster, but as my grandmother's dying wish on her last year of life, she wanted to be able to hold another infant, one of her own blood. My mother was her only daughter, and so, she was a victum to this obsured plee. She then had me, now age eighteen and entering my last year of high school, her fourth daughter. My mom didnt understand my mother's wish until she was just about to reach the age of menapose. She begged my father for one last child, and he gave in. Thus, their fifth and last daughter, Courtney Rae, now 12 and starting eight grade.
Yeah, thats too much estrogen in my house for even me, of the same gender, to handle. I guess you could say being in such a large family of mostly girls kinda makes you feel left out and unimportant, but i've grown used to it. Besides, I have Pepper to keep me company. She's an amazing dog, a Brittany Spaniel mix. Pepper is the absolute love of my life, and so is my horse Gypsy Heart, which is why I came here to these stables."
"Now that we have gotten past all of that stuff, it is really time to 'dig up some dirt' as some may say. Well, have you ever done anything you are not proud of? Something illegal, immoral, etc. Don't be afraid to tell me. Everything said here is high confidential and no one else will be informed."
"You serious? I mean, for real? You think i'd tell you, a complete stranger, a secret i've never told even my closest relative about? Well, if you say no one else will be told... A couple years back I took Gypsy Heart out for a ride in the forest. There were... some guys out there. This was after I'd just broken up with an ex of mine, so as you can imagine the emotional mess I was at that time. They seemed like nice guys; I mean, they had horses so I figured they had to be, and they were. In fact, they were so nice they offered me a smoke. I'd never done it before, so I started choking and couldnt breathe. They guys had split the minute I called my dad, begging him through gasps for air to come help me. I went to the emergency room and everything, told my dad this group of guys forced me to smoke it, and he didnt question it. First big lie I've ever told. Ok, so umm... Moving on, yeah?"
"I would be intrigued to know more, but I rather not push. I've heard much about you already, but I haven't heard nearly anything at all about your social life. Do you have a lot of friends? Little? What social crowd do you hang out with. Tell me about your friends and what you do on weekends and after school."
"Yeah, I'd rather you not push either. Social life? Honey, I'm at the top of the leagues here. Sorry, I'm just so used to acting this way in public, but I can actually, talk to you. Oh, dont take it personal and all I just... Yeah. So... Friends! I have plenty, actually. My best has to be Jane, also the top of the social crowd. You want to know what we do? What do you think we do? We're the life of the party, the wreckers of the town, wild at heart. You know all those disturbances you hear about on the news? Courtisy of mwa. Sorry, b*tch fever is getting the best of me again. Next question?"
"Quite interesting. Do you think you find it easy to find that special someone? Tell me a bit about the relationships you have been in. Are you currently in a relationship? How long do your relationships last? Do you do well with commitment or not? Do you regret any relationship you have been in? Have you ever cheated while in a relationship?"
"Easy? If it were easy dont you think I would have found them by now? Hmm... relationships... Who would kiss in tell? Oh, right. Me. I've been in plenty, but its like they either have a flaw too big to miss or they're in it just to get in your pants. You know, the usual. No, I'm not currently in a relationship, and to be honest, I always find that I'm much happier that way, then again I dont notice til after the break up has been done and settled. The longest relationship I've ever been in lasted three months, but I wouldnt really call it a relationship. It's more of a 'friends with benefits' kinda thing. I'm kidding, honest. No... He seemed like the perfect guy, and I truely thought I was in love. But since we were such close friends before we were going out, our friendship got too awkward and we felt like we couldnt really talk much anymore, so he broke it off. But hey, you win some you lose some, am I right? I guess I do good with commitment. I've never been aware if I was some paranoid, controling spazz or not, so I guess I'm pretty ok. I go out with guys to find 'the one', not to get some. I see no reason as to why I dont put my full self in as commitment. I couldnt say I regret any past relationships. I learned from each guy. For instance the first guy I ever dated, back in seventh grade, Joey. He taught me it was cool to be myself. And Dylan? He taught me to, as he calls it, 'chillax' about things that dont need to be stressed over. And Anthony? He taught me to have fun and let my wild side run free. You see what I mean? They all brought goods and taught me something so I'm prepared for when 'the one' comes along. And cheated? Never. I've had crushes on others while dating someone, but I never actually did anything about it. Ok, anything else you wanna ask and get all deep and personal about?"
"Well Miss, this has been rather interesting interview, something a lot of people don't usually tell to a completely stranger, but I am very happy for your openness about everything. I'm going to go ahead and say that this interview is over and your free to go. If there's any last things you would like to say or mention before you go, feel free to do that as well. Good bye."
"Well, Miss, it's been interesting myself. I dont normally open up much like this until after I've gotten all into a good book or something. This was actually... pretty nice. I had fun. It was nice meeting you, and good bye. Hey, maybe we could get a coffee sometime, catch up, you know?"
"So, you're going to interview me? Huh, this will be interesting. Where to start: my name perhaps? Halsten Adeline Juliet Dackery.
