Parents are just there because who they are could have an impact on who you character turns out to be (Sydney's parents are wealthy as well as well-known in the Muggle world and she's uncomfortable about it; Killian knows a lot about magical creatures because his mum rehabilitates injured ones; Jackie's biological parents were arrested for supporting the Dark Lord - just that kind of stuff.)
History is there in case something happened to your character in the past that still affects them to this day (i.e. Sydney was bullied as a child and has social anxiety partly due to that).

Personality: Opal is your average sassy fangirl. She isn't afraid to speak her mind, which gets her into trouble sometimes. She has very strong views on equality, and has been given detention multiple times for punching people when they make offensive jokes. Opal is very artistic, and after she attend Hogwarts she wants to go to college in America to become an animator. Her only real problem with Hogwarts is there isn't any Internet connection, and she's an avid user of the Internet. She has to wait till the holidays to catch up on her favorite shows and bands, and this drives her crazy. Opal loves to sing, dance, and act, but it's also a point of insecurity. Opal has depression. Watching the look of disappointment on your mom's face when you say you want to be an animator. Listening to sighs from your teachers in elemantary school when you don't score as high on a project as your sister did. Tasting the liquid from the tube in your mouth in the hospital as doctors check your pulse to make sure you're still alive. All of these feelings have affected who Opal is today. She's currently on medication, and sees a therapist during the school year and during the summer. Opal may not always act like it, but she always knows your exact emotion. She also knows people's secrets. She's more observant than she looks, okay? She's part of the Phandom, for Christ's sake!

History: Opal was the second child to her parents, who already had another daughter named Autumn. Opal was your average toddler, and her entire family was blessed with another daughter they named Leah. When Opal got into kindergarten, things started to get more complicated. Opal was chased around on the playground every day, and was told awful things that to this day her mother will not repeat. Opal also had a wonky pencil grip, and was always told she couldn't do write anything the right way. With a quick change of schools in 4th grade, things would improve, right? Wrong. Things improved education wise, but the social situation was rough. She had just discovered her sexuality, and confided in her friend who told everyone she was pansexual against her will. Opal fell into a depression. Everyone treated her differently now that she was out. Opal had multiple mental brekdowns in school hours in the girl's bathroom. Nobody knew, though. It was during Recess. She only found happiness in her art. She has an amazing art teacher who taught her that she shouldn't let her pencil grip get in the way of being an artist. Opal was relieved when she got her Hogwarts letter. Her older sister had already been in Hogwarts for 4 years, so she thought she was ready to take on the school. She was wrong. She figured out that she wasn't a girl. She didn't know who she was, or who she wanted to be. She spent all her time at home in her room, and she didn't have many friends at Hogwarts. She had let her life be consumed by gender dysphoria and depression. In the summer between her second and third year, she attempted suicide. She was in a mental ward for the rest of the summer, but was put on medication, given a therapy chicken, and was sent to a therapist in Hogwarts. She met Juliette when she started taking Divination, and the two have been inseperable since. Opal is in a better place socially and academically, but still isn't terrific mentally. Nobody knows bout her gender identity.

Personality: Jette is a very health centered individual. She prides herself in her carefree spirit. She's a vegan. She loves Divination class. She believes in aromatherapy and acupuncture. History: Jette was the first born in her family. Her parents had just been married, and everything was perfect until Jette was 5. For the first time in her life, Jette's parents seemed unhappy. They were constantly fighting over the smallest things. Jette didn't know what was going on. She wasn't great in school, and her mom was always pressuring her to do better. Her dad wasn't around anymore and when he was, he was fighting with her mom. After four years of non stop fighting, Jette's dad was caught kissing her aunt. Jette's parents filed for divorce. It was the hardest period in Jette's life. Her mom just stopped talking to Jette, and her dad didn't want anything to do with her. Jette spent all of her time dancing. She made a friend in her dance class named Serena, and Serena taught her how to deal with her stress through yoga, acupunture, and meditation. After Jette started to get more in touch with her health and spirit, her grades in school got way better. When she was accepted into Hogwarts, she was kind of scared. She didn't know if she could leave Serena behind. She ended up going, and it was amazing. She had the chance to really explore who she was, and decided that she wanted to work with wands.
