Thoroughbreds are the most popular, well known race horse breed, but racing horses can also be Arabians, Akhal-Tekes and Quarter horses and I'm sure there's probably a couple other breeds I'm not aware about or can't remember at the moment that are known for racing.

@Kara,
I have a few issues with your form.
1. you need an image so that everyone knows the appearance of your horse.
2. the mib (most influential breeds) would most likely be a thoroughbred, because that's the most common horse used in modern day racing. (refer to @Scarlit's previous post for more info).
3. you don't need to write anything next to appearance. the categories below help everyone understand enough.
4. hazel is not a horse colour. the most likely colours you were thinking of were probably either chestnut, palomino, flaxen chestnut, liver chestnut, bay, buckskin, or dark bay. please note that a majority of these images aren't thoroughbreds. they are just coat examples. please find your own images.
5. 'white strip' isn't really much of a description. see here for facial markings. also here and here for leg markings.
6. horses are measured in hands. hands go up by threes. eg. 14.0, 14.1, 14.2, 14.3, 15.0, etc. thoroughbreds usually average from 15.2 to 17 hands.
7. I'm assuming medium weight means middle-weight.
8. again, in the form, I put a spot for her personality. you have somehow, whilst completing it, moved it up next to the words that say 'TRAITS/PERSONALITY'.
9. horses don't usually play with balls...unless they have a horse ball. besides, humans have been gone for approx. 2000 years, so horse balls (or any balls) would no longer exist.
10. she can't be looking to become a racer because, as I said just then, humans have been gone for about 2000 years.
11. (above: 2000 year message), so she couldn't even possibly know what it feels like to be petted, or combed, or washed.
12. as @Starwindrider said, no humans exist and cruz would have no clue what washington, texas, or even what a human is, let alone racing horses. please change that.

I would also recommend for you to read the storyline as it contains some background info.
