alex jay liu is born on october 6th to a canadian father, a chinese mother, and an elder step-brother, kris. her childhood is happy, but by the time she turns 16 she is used to acting. she claims to only love boys in the mirror, smiling. her brother is the anchor that keeps her safe - he struggled with his own sexuality for years until finally admitting he only yearned for men. eventually, his secret comes out. her mother disowns him, claiming any deviant is no child of theirs. kris moves out, and amber is devastated.

when she is offered a chance to go from china to the u.s. for college, she accepts in a heartbeat. her brother surprises her when she steps off the plane, lanky arms pulling her into a tight hug. he lives in l.a. too, having moved there after being disowned. she learns to smile again. to those who meet her now, there is little trace of the cliche 'girly girl' she was in the past. she still wears the same friendly expression, only now followed by skinny jeans and tank tops.

she knows chinese and english fluently, and when she gets excited will sometimes switch between the two. in general, she's very outgoing and a positive person to be around. she has a biting sense of sarcasm, though.

I'll fix the hotel thing, but Bae Min Hee said Jungkook was good friends with Wonwoo? I never said it lol but I don't want to decline them and Wonwoo is always friendly so apparently they know each other somehow, maybe past schools and such. They never mentioned them 'becoming' good friends, just said they were and I didn't want to go against anything they said.
